  1. Probably should've went to Bournemouth or Norwich. It sucks, because if we have a bad time with our strikers this season and Bamford was to do really well, the natural process would be to have him in the squad next year. I don't think that will happen now, I don't think Pardew will give him a proper chance. I fucking hate it when our players are signed for squad depth and nothing more.
  2. If I retract everything I've ever said about Mikel will you stay?! Good luck man! You'll be missed!
  3. Quick, someone do an Arsenal selfie count!
  4. I'm not directing this at you specifically - I don't blame you, it's contagious these days at TC. It's just that the main perpetrators are on my ignore list so I couldn't direct it anywhere else!
  5. To be fair Amels has a point, those types of posts have become just as annoying - lumping everyone in the same box, dismissing everyone's criticism and not offering up an explanation or counter specific arguments. Adds absolutely nothing to the forum except a false sense of superiority from the poster.
  6. Whinger beats Mourinho in the Community Shield, big deal. Took him 13 fucking tries to do it and he did it when it mattered the least.
  7. Fabregas' set-piece deliveries are so slow at times. We have one of the biggest teams in the league yet it counts for nothing sometimes because we don't really have one player who can whip them in consistently.
  8. Cech doing his party trick of having kittens when a corner comes near him. Makes me so happy to have Courtois
  9. Fabregas-Oscar-WIllian-Hazard on the pitch together brings the best out of the team in terms of cycling possession. Hopefully it works here. Doesn't mean we can't do any better though with additions because it does also leave Matic vulnerable.
  10. Remy not staking his claim while he can, he's actually shooting himself in the foot more than anything else. Wouldn't be surprised if he goes at half time at this rate. Not sure if we're trying something new with Hazard or he himself is too centralised and crowded, but something has to change there as well.
  11. Not in a million years would a real fan of anything bet against their own team. Sacrilegious. Bunch of
  12. And Iva is fast? At least Rodriguez can cross and deliver a wicked set-piece. That I think is something we have missed since Mata. Cesc is good, but we need someone else who can do it as well (preferably with some pace). It's a bit of a crime that Willian seems to be second behind Cesc in terms of set-pieces.
  13. The delusion spreads far and wide on Merseyside. Must be something in the water. Not in a million years will Stones go for anything close to 50 million. The reason Sterling, Shaw and Luiz went for those prices is because the clubs that agreed to those fees were desperate. We are far from desperate - we are the current PL champions. And any young English defender worth his salt would give his left nut to learn from John Terry in a training session, nevermind as a teammate.
  14. Might be a ploy to throw off Augsburg and to drop Baba's price a little...hopefully.
  15. Not a particularly great choice considering his communication skills are practically non-existent. I remember him and Cech getting in that embarrassing tiff when we faced Liverpool a few years ago. Not to mention the pairing of him and Luiz as a partnership was the most disorganised monstrosity I've ever seen. Pairing him with Cahill wasn't much better either. Fabregas probably would've been a better bet considering his experience, but Brana is like Mourinho's love child after all.
  16. I remember having to defend Zouma after the first pre-season game last year. There weren't many complaints come February when he displaced Cahill...
  17. I remember him single-handedly murdering many a counter-attack with his atrocious first touch. Unless it has improved, he will not last long and could be gone by January, that's if he even makes it till the end of this window...
  18. Exactly. He just came off of a fantastic loan spell with Fiorentina and managed to showcase how effective he can be in Serie A - if they want him, the absolute least we should get is our investment back. His value is most likely at its peak now, we should not risk it decreasing. Seriously, what is the point in loaning him? Are we going to loan him till his contract expires? Unless we are demanding a ridiculous loan fee like 5m and they are obligated to buy him next summer for 15m, it makes no financial sense. The deadweight like him (and Moses) need to be moved on so the squad can be improved.
  19. Particularly because we're after him, I can see United coming in and offering him a stupid contract, something like at least 50k+ a week more than us. United are already playing catch up, so I would imagine they'd love to snatch Pedro from us to try to close the gap as much as possible. The question is if Pedro just wants money or wants to play for a real team. Then again, with United offering so much these days it also comes with risk of the 'mercenary effect', where players only show up when they want to (like at City). I imagine that's what we want to weed out. C'est la vie I suppose.
  20. Bar dribbling, Mata has everything over Isco. Finishing, assists, set-pieces everything. Isco plays for Real at their peak and Mata for United at their worst period in decades (with an idiot at the helm). I'm not going too into it because it's not either of their threads, but it seems some people have amnesia and have forgotten the 12/13 season when he dragged our entire team over the line and into the CL spots by scoring 20 goals. Here's a reminder of the goal that did it btw: So yes, I believe Mata is much better than Isco. If I was to go further, I would say it was a mistake to sell him which resulted in even more mistakes in the effort to get the vast amount of goals and assists back that he gave us, i.e. gambling that Oscar would develop further, buying Salah, buying Cudrado etc. But I will leave it there...
  21. Isco is not world class. We also had a much better player than Isco and Mourinho sold him to United in favour of Oscar. Genius move.
  22. So what? Kaka went to Real Madrid at Pedro's age and he was shit, by your logic that is supposed to be impossible just because Real are a 'better team'. Costa has a better goal scoring record here, that's even with being out for almost a third of the season. Hazard has improved his goalscoring record here. So I do not believe it is beyond the realms of possibility to say that Pedro can score 15 goals a season as a starter considering he's scored more than that at Barca. You think he's going to come here and suddenly turn into Willian for some reason? That is even less likely.
  23. If he comes here, I bet he scores more than Oscar and Willian combined...probably could throw Flopdrado in with them as well. He has the capabilities to score 15 goals a season - he scored 45 goals in two seasons afterall (09-11). Whereas getting double figures from Oscar would an extremely good season for him and getting double figures from Willian would be an absolute miracle. We desperately need more goals outside of Hazard and Costa, we have JT outscoring the majority of our AMs for fuck sake.
  24. Ha, Reus would never go to Liverpool. The only very remote chance they'd have of getting him is if Klopp was already there, but they have Brenda. I'm sure Reus has heard plenty from Sahin about how useless Brenda is.
