I seriously think proper deeplying playmakers are underestimated. If we don't have a long range passer in our central midfield, the total football roman wants us to play can never be achieved. With a regista, our ball possesion will increase drastically and he can threaten the opposition with through balls from deep. Imagine barca without xavi, or juve without pirlo. Their possesion stats will reduce drastically and make the opponents have the ball more. Chelsea never had this kind of player, that's why having mazacar seems its not enough at times (against juve and shaktar we were dominated in the center midfield). Oscar has those qualities with his play but he is too weak, if he can develop into that kind of player in the future, it will be a big bonus to us.

Someone that finally sees what I see. With mikel we would have scored less for sure, without mikel 6-1. He is only good for us in big games where we need to be conservative. But in small games like nordsjaeland, we don't need him to slow our game down and we can murder teams for sure.

Not only that, he has won only 54% of duels, proves he is not aggresive enough to make slide tackles and win balls like I said in my earlier post. I didn't even need to check up statistics to realise that these are mikels greatest problems. 1. No foward passing sense 2. Have rarely seen him get in takles to stop dangerous situations as the supposed defensive player. I like some of his qualities but he must add those two qualities above to become a top class DM. He can function better in a 4-3-3 with more midfielders to help him but in a pivot, his present qualities are not enough. As long as he can only do what he has so far, he isn't even going to be a starter in a liverpool squad or any top team in spain, italy, germany or england. He needs to develop because he is average at best in my opinion.

thats what i mean. No top team can start mikel but chelsea. Meaning we should aim for better, he wont even get a start at liverpool so to me he is just average.
