MATA HAS BEEN BULLIED SO FAR, TORRES LOOSING BALLS AS USUAL
-
FINALLY MARIN GETS A START... THE WORLD MUST BE COMING TO AN END
-
Great analysis of our situation. Mikel and ramires were bosses last season bcos of counter attack football, but this season the team is disjointed in the style we want to play.
-
Sheva before chelsea= european, quick, skillful, finisher, team player Torres before chelsea = quick, skillful, top finisher. Falcao = SOUTH AMERICAN, PHYSiCAL, BIG GAME PLAYER(barca, chelsea, finals like drogba), ONLY MESSI IS A BETTER FINISHER, SPEED, POWER, FREEKICK, 40 GOALS PER SEASON, AGGRESSIVE I think there is a significant difference in the kind of striker falcao is compared to our formal flops. Chill guys...

Tell those players to man up and stop giving up in 50-50 balls
-
I didn't want to admit this but, Benitez seems to be getting the best out of hazard and torres, experimenting options like oscar and luiz in the midfield(how I so wanted to see that since last season) and maybe with more time, we can benefit properly from this.

Torres actually took the shot even when players were in front of him, gave a good pass to mata for the third. Benitez must have given torres some confidence boosting drugs
-
Inspired peformance from luiz today, strong on the ball and VISION to pass foward. Almost a man of the match peformance.
-
Hazard MOTM, Luiz very close second. Mata played well too Comfortable peformance
-
I'm loving mikel's foward passes today, even his pressing is better.
-
Oh my goodness, mikel actually attempted a through pass to cole
-
Lampard comin on now..
-
Torres scores looool. I can't believe torres shot wen he wasn't sure Benitez must have given torres confidence boosting drugs!!
-
Goooooaaaallll..... Mata again... Lovely back heel from oscar!!!
-
See that through ball to hazard from luiz, he is having a magnificent game so far
-
Match wishes Start lampard, rest hazard so that he regains some form, sub off mata early and give marin some serious game time. And win 4-0

Few information on Monterrey: 1) They've won the CONCACAF Champions League twice in a row, which suggests that they know how to perform in cup competitions when they need to. The competition is relatively weak compared to the UEFA Champions League or even the Copa Libertadores, but it does contain Mexico's strongest teams. 2) They've had some recent success in the league over the last few years, but they've been less consistent. 3) Their recent league form has been unimpressive, with a lot of draws and losses - they were also booted out of the Apertura final phase around a month ago. 4) Their strikers and more attacking players - Suazo, Delgado, Angel Reyna and De Nigris - are their most dangerous players. Suazo has a good burst of pace and is a good finisher, but his form has declined a bit and he's physically weak. Delgado is a good crosser and passer and is also quick, but he's physically weak, injury prone and an inconsistent finisher despite his two goals versus Ulsan. Reyna is a better finisher and is a real handful to deal with due to his acceleration and trickery, but his passes and crosses leave more to be desired and he is physically weak. De Nigris is a decent all-round striker: he's not that quick and his finishing could be better but he's good at holding up the ball. 5) Also of note is Walter Ayovi, the Ecuadorian captain. He can slot in centre midfield and anywhere on the left side of the pitch, plus he has a thunderbolt of a shot. He is aging, though. 6) Their defence is weaker than their offense, so attack is probably the best form of policy. I can see any of Hazard, Mata, Oscar and Moses cutting them open time and time again. We just need to finish, that's all. Hopefully Torres will score.

This part sounds like you are more of a benitez fan than a chelsea fan

Perfect analysis of the match. You watched the match and didn't just pull out statistics. To be fair on oscar, he didn't train with ramires before the match so he was basically thrown in there. He can only develop his defensive positioning with experience.
-
The midfielders who sit and protect the back four are perfect in a 4-3-3 system, where they are actually in the middle protecting the back four. But in a 4-2-3-1 system, they are on one side of the pitch, meaning when we attack from the left, the left pivot person should support and when we attack from the right, the right pivot man should support and the left should sit back. That is when the person that sits deep and protects the back four becomes overatted. I can't remember any team with a 4-2-3-1 system, with a player who just sits in front of the defence. But in a 4-3-3, they are a vital part of the team.

True. I was carried away by their passing at times, but their striker can hold up play and link up very well. He has strength too, cahill will have some work to do on thursday.
-
Just watched the 60mins of their last match and I have to say that they are a pretty decent team. They play 4-3-3. Their strengths 1. They are VERY GOOD in possesion, lots of movement from the players. 2. They are very good at maintaining high pressure all over the pitch and win back possesion very fast. 3. They do A LOT of one twos around the 18box which can be dangerous when they execute it perfectly. Their weakness 1. They are slow to defend counters. 2. They pass too much near the box at times instead of shooting. I hope we don't give away any cheap goals, and stay compact. We will win them.

Just wow... His chelsea carrer may be ruined bcos we might go get a new DM this january. Best of luck romeu.

Sadly some people don't actually watch the match and go and pick 90% pass completed stats and comment mikel is good. Forgetting that 89% where to ashley cole or ivanovic. That's why most websites get the post match player ratings wrong, bcos they just collect stats and don't watch the match.

He said maybe we can get our own messi, and I listed things he needs to add to get there... Nothing to get too serious about
