Stuggles when put under pressure, needs to go to the gym and learn how to protect the ball in his possesion. Even if it means using your ass to block pple or fall on the ball when pushed. I just imagine if we made him mark pirlo instead of oscar, we would have been skinned because of the lack of any defensive shift from him. Could be under instructions from benitez to do that but still if he puts in a defensive shift, it will be 3 city midfilders vs 3 chelsea mids instead of barry yaya and nasri vs only mikel and ramires. Major reason we get dominated against big possesion teams is this.

Chelsea are the slowest top team when in possesion. How do we expect to create chances when we are so freaking slow in our buildups. The first half was like mancity were young men and we were old ladies, so freaking slow. We are a better team than manutd so why do the keep on beating teams since all they do is cross the ball?? Answer - because they play FAST. They don't play like they are retired, speeding up the game confuses defenders.... when will we learn this??? I don't like how mata's weakness on the ball gets the better of him in big matches, especially against top possesion teams (bayern, juve, mancity, barca) he plays horrible because he can't hold the ball under slight pressure. Against big teams like those, I think he should be playing in the wings to accomodate an AM to put in a proper defensive shift. If he was the one marking pirlo at the bridge instead of oscar, we would have been raped there. A perfect example is how bayern use kroos as the AM against big teams to put in a defensive shift and not just stay up there and be bullied off the ball. Gone are those days when we bully teams on our way to victory, now we have pple like mikel who never put in a slide challenge to win the ball at all. Terrible first half. Big difference from oscar when he left the wings. Mata and hazard were bad till oscar came to the center We don't have any crosser in the team Mikel was the flop of the match - no where for the first goal, strolling like its not his business, and terrible passing through out.

I wanted to say this exactly..... This is why we played better against big teams when oscar is in the center he defends faaaar better than mata. Bayern play with kroos in the AM who defends faaar better. And the goal for city oscar was deeper than mikel who was just walking back.

Well I'm afraid we won't see his potential in the wings sadly.

Lamps has played in 32 out of 34 semis or finals.... I've never seen such a physically fit consistent player. What a legend!

Oscar is a player that thrived with more freedom to roam under RDM. But he is now more rigid with FSW and forced to stay only at the wings where he is clearly average at. I can imagine barcelona making fabregas play in the wings ONLY, that's what they are doing to oscar. I know oscar too has also had a lot of misplaced passes of late himself, but the constant average peformance is clearly down to being constantly played out of position.

He looks so bad under benitez, he can't pass well anymore or dribble. He doesn't even swap with mata to be in the centre again, FSW is a c*nt for this.

We got worse after he was subbed. In my opinion, he is third in the pecking order behind only mata and hazard.

Spot on! That's how he plays for nigeria, he moves foward and is more attack oriented with his passing. He actually is supposed to be like a yaya toure, he can use his physique to get past players. He has started getting confidence to go foward recently though instead of just sitting back and passing to back four.Wigan equalizing Qpr at the last minute was a great result
