Each time I watch him play for nigeria, I just think he made a mistake coming here. How could someone look so different in his style of play. Maybe he won so many trophies with chelsea, but one can imagine how he would have been if he played for a team that gave him more creative freedom than he has here.
-
He played as a left winger for shaktar, but mykatarian(in dortmund now) was actually the attacking midfielder there. But willian played a couple of games on the right for both Anzi and shaktar. But he can basically play everywhere across the front 3.

I dont think we can have so much bad luck to have another two players get injured But you're right, we must be cautious. meanwhile, check my suggestion in the member of the month thread if its a possible solution

What do you think about having two MOTM polls. One for footballing discussions (articles, match threads, mourinho thread, player thread, transfers etc)And one for general contributions (THE PUB, funny gifs and pics threads, jokes, fifa 14, and other non-football related threads)With the last two months winners not nominated for the next months poll, i think it would be a brilliant idea...... -
Exactly If hazard ever got injured, i can confidently shift willian to play his position. More confident that i would have been if we only had schurrle.

Whats going on with all you guys using naked thor as your pic??? Is that the new flavor of the month or was it a personal request from alex??
-
I hope willian is called up and uses this to get some match fitness and small exposure to chelsea fans that dont know much about him

Deadline day Daily mail boss: "Anything on mata?" Daily mail editor: "Nothing sir, sorry" Daily mail boss: "Bugger...... what club has a lot of money?" Daily mail editor: Err, PSG are pretty rich i guess. Daily mail boss: "Interesting..... i heard they were after mata" Daily mail editor: "I've not heard anything like that sir" Daily mail boss: "I dont think you understand..... I heard PSG are after Mata" Daily mail editor: "Oooh, i see... I've also heard the rumours" Daily mail boss: "Brilliant.... Best get reporting then lad"

Its outrageous how underated willian is honestly. He'll prove his worth this season and be one of our best players. This is just how it was when mourinho bought ozil, they thought he was just average till he produced 80 plus assists in 3 seasons

There's no other way we could organise a member of the month poll unless you want people to categorize it like. MOTM for football discussions MOTM for funny and general discussions -
sign this guy up!!
-
I even forgot about hazard, which is even more important. I hope belgium wont use him(dont kill me) till he comes back to chelsea
-
"if jose plays juan over mata"
-
He looks bad. And oscar doesnt seem like the type that ever gets injured, i hop it doesnt take two weeks now.
-
Oscar injury, hazard injury, wtf I knew depth was important but I hope we don't find out the hard way like this
-
RMPR says he twisted his ankle so I was fearing for the worst. But I hope xpetrcechx news of the injury is right
-
Fuck fuck fuck shit damn it fuck     :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

I knew one of our players would get injured, and it will make us know the importance of depth, now I hear oscar twisted his ankle... Oh God!!
-
Ok, i get your point now. Its true, but i just have this bad feeling that one of hazard oscar or mata will get an injury(dont kill me yet) they've played so many games for 2 years now (look at messi getting injuries here and there) and i dont want us to regret not having better quality on the bench. But i understand where you're coming from now
-
Youre right about balance though. But look at the top 6 teams this season and their players behind the main striker. Manchester utd (young, rooney, kagawa, valencia, zaha, nani) manchester city(navas, silva, jovetic, nasri, milner,) i didnt even mention aguero behind Dzeko(the striker up top) Arsenal (ozil, carzola, walcot, podolski, ox, rosicky) Liverpool (aspas, coutinho, moses, henderson, sterling, ibe) Tottenham (chadli, erickson, lamela, townsend, sirgudson, lennon) Now look at ours Chelsea (hazard, mata, willian, schurrle, oscar, KDB) All we did was try to make sure ours was the best of the lot, both starting and on the bench so that we have a clear advantage in the title race. I honestly dont see anything wrong with this.

i edited my post. I was just trying to emphasize that the strongest squads always come 1st or 2nd in the league and its been too long since weve gotten near these positions. But my problem is that you guys seem more interested in keeping the players happy than winning titles. And me i want more titles for us even at the cost of unhappy players thats where our opinions differ though.
-
Either your not quite understanding me, or you severely underestimate the impact of a big squad mixed with a good manager. Yes balance is important, but sacrificing titles is not the way foward. We've gone through too many transitional seasons since ancelloti left, its time we take matters into our hands and pose a serious threat in the EPL. The best way to start doing that is getting a strong squad, a competitive manager, then we take it from there. We have won the premier league 3 times, in the last 11 years. Check the difference between the winning squads and the rest and you will get what i mean
-
The point im trying to make is i dont really care if people dont get games, thats the down side of having such a great team. Barcelona had people like bojan, villa, thiago, fabregas(in his first season), ibrahimovic, and many others angry on the bench. And this was during their time as the best ever footballing team. The best ever footballing team is what i want chelsea to be, and it needs a big squad to get there. Sure people will not be happy, but thats the price you pay for full glory...
-
Are you sure we had poor depth? i think i remember after that season, we let ballack, deco, beletti, and 3 other senior players go and only replaced them with only two players (ramires and someone i cant remember) which cost us to go trophyless
