Great talent, but no matter what we do we should make sure that at least 20 Million from the deal should be performance based. For example, If Havertz scores or assists a certain amount of goals, 5 million; If chelsea win a trophy with him, 10mil. If he makes 60 appearances another 5 million.

Wow he looks smaller, I didn't even know that. We need to drop the chillwell interest
-
Wow, he's better in almost every category. And signing him for 25mil will leave so much space for other players.... This is a no brainer really

Seeing this just proved what a lot of us saw in the match thread. Arteta came with a game plan and Lampard didn't have a game plan to expose Arsenals backline too. Lampard didn't also try to stop the constant exposure from Aubameyang and Naitland-miles. He should have asked the team to sit deep if they were too tired to press, then try to come up with a strategy at halftime. He only put a faster zouma there, but the high line still showed up the tactical naivety of that.

He'll be the most successful of all our signings. I love his determination
-
I have nothing against him but I wish we have attacking midfielders who raise their heads up to look for runners instead of only making aimless runs everywhere. Look at Lampard as a player, I lost count the number of times he gave assists simply because he raised his head to look for options. Mount needs to do that more and stop this Barkley route of only looking at the ball when in possession, raise your head when on the ball, you're an attacking Mid for crying out loud.

He was dominated tactically by Arteta. We never had a stable period of dominance after the first 15 minutes. It doesn't help that we had midfielders who couldn't give a forward pass without losing the ball and pulisic (our only high quality player in attack/midfield) getting injured. Lamps has to develop some sort of system/style of play to help the players. This is what coaches like conte/Mourinho of old did. Conte tactics made Moses/Alonso look quality. This current way we are playing where we are so random, depending on how good our players are on the day, without any recognised system means, the only way we can get successful under Lamps is to get quality players all over the pitch. That is the tactic, Arteta has and Lamps has no answer to it. Then what have we done in attack that looks coordinated? It's been kick and rush football all over the pitch in attack
-
Arteta has dominated Lampard tactically today.

Kepa doesn't move for shots at all. When he moves, he's slow in reacting. Thats not good for a short Goal keeper. Yeah I know lamps wanted another GK coach. But I never followed up on what happened after. We might need a change ASAP
-
I wonder what Hilario is training him on if he had an even worse record Just look at the concentration levels between Kepa and Caballero
-
It really is. Hopefully we as a team can be better tactically as we would greatly benefit from good positioning like conte's chelsea or Liverpool and mancity.
-
For those who like tactical discussions. Here's steve Holland discussing how the last 3 champions have won the league using surprisingly similar tactics. Maybe Lamps is planning the same with a DM and two number 8's.

Remember those days where we were told top 10 is a success with lampard in charge? Well....
-
That sounds reassuring. I was wondering how press resistant he is because his height makes him look lanky sometimes. Hopefully if he is used to escaping pressing and counter press teams in the bundesliga, then he will translate the experience into the EPL. His finishing is so good, and his vision for passing is very good too. But I still don't know how someone with his passing and vision didn't get more than 10 assists in 34-40 games this season.

I've seen a lot of comments stating that Onana is not better than Kepa because of a two minutes video circulating. Anyone can get a two minute video of mistakes from any goalkeeper, including Oblak. This is Dean Henderson looking just as bad as Kepa. What matters is the save percentage at the keepers command of the box. Kepa is the worst in the league in these categories and its cost us points.
-
The key is no Kepa behind them. No fears of a blunder or every shot going in. For example I guarantee that Jota would have scored early in the second half if Kepa was there.

Hope we make champions league today so that things can move quickly.

Anyone can take a shot at the centre of the goal and it goes in. That still does my head in Courtois and Cech used to tip them over without even jumping.
