  1. Rather get that Arsenal keeper Martinez.
  2. Exactly why we are linked with Rice. If we can get him, he's tall, a good tackler and has a good pass on him. All these excuses defending Jorginho will be thrown out of the window, because with Jorginho we cant play all the attacking players we want to get next season. That would leave the team unbalanced. A pure tackling DM would do wonders.
  3. Like I said, Pep started tinkering and got Rodri which has ruined his system and cost him even competing for the league. Fernandinho making all those tackles and fouls was crucial in stopping counterattacks for his system. Sent from my SM-A307FN using Tapatalk
  4. I praised Gilmour because he can do what Jorginho does but can also run, cover spaces, play far more forward passes instead of just keeping tempo. We're not playing slow pondering Italian football, this is a fast paced league, Jorginho doesn't just fit. Gilmour may not be Kante but like I always said, there's no point keeping a Jorginho when Gilmour is available. About Kantes passing, Kante's passing is better than Casemiros so that is not the most important part of a DM in this system. The important aspect is it allows us to play with two attacking midfielders which will make the whole team far more attacking as a whole. The attacking football we all want to see cannot happen if we have to protect the DM. Look at ManUtd, Pogba and Fernandes can only work together because Matic is sitting behind them protecting their advance. The system allows more attacking players and eventually more goals. The pressing that you spoke about that ManCity does to protect the defence, used to be done by us at the beginning of the season. But if you remember we usually collapsed in the second half. That was probably down to inexperience from Lampard but he's learning and can easily adjust it to do the pressing in small 10-15 mins spells. The bottom line is Jorginho as DM cannot protect ziyech, Havertz and other attacking players we are planning to add to our team. And it is better to emulate teams playing with a winning system instead of forcing the Jorginho regista system down our throats. Sent from my SM-A307FN using Tapatalk
  5. I'm in support of selling Jorginho. And it's not just because of his limitations, it's purely because the successful teams in recent times (like Liverpool and Madrid) do not play with a Regista. Casemiro is a pure DM, while Fabinho is a physically dominant Defensive Midfielder who allows the team to push forward knowing they are protected at the back. Last two seasons ManCity played with Fernadinho as the DM, making tackles and interceptions which allowed them to be able to play very attacking midfielders like KDB and Silva in the No. 8 (box to box) roles. ManCity won two titles in a row before they tinkered with that and brought a controller in Rodri, removing Fernandinho from the base of Midfield (This has failed woefully). We are hoping to sign Kai Havertz to help us improve on the kind of creativity we saw against Norwich. How do we play Havertz, Ziyech and Pulisic together if the team has to protect Jorginho at the back? No body plays a regista that needs protection from fellow midfielders these days, so there is no reason why a team like us that wants to join the successful teams should be playing an outdated system.
  6. I didn't think we needed him before. But looking at things, Lamps is looking to play a Defensive midfielder and two Box to box midfielders like Madrid have done so successfully with Casemiro - Kroos, modric and City last year with Fernadinho - KDB, Silva . That way we can Accommodate someone like Havertz easily in one of the midfield positions. Kante just cannot stay fit, so a Declan Rice with his physical presence and passing would be a perfect deputy.
  7. I just doubt that Leicester will get 6 points from Sheffield, Tottenham and Manutd on their current form. Once we get 66 points, we qualify. I just hope we do the job against Norwich Tomorrow to put some pressure on the rest to slip up.
  8. We just need two wins from the last three games.
  9. If Jorginho started against palace instead of bringing him on against crystal palace when the opponents were tired, we would have lost that game.
  10. The moment Kante and Gilmour got injured and we had to use Jorginho at the base we became doomed. Slow Sarri type tempo and the two 8's in mount and Barkley are scared to go forward and attack because Jorginho is so bad defensively so they need to protect him. This has caused little to no creativity. And starting Abraham over Giroud is a gamble that has failed like we all said when we saw the lineup.
  11. He should only be playing when we need to slow down the play, control possession to protect our lead. Not when we need to score and we're playing Sarri's slow rubbish
  12. The Abraham gamble has failed. He should have played Giroud who can put up a contest against Centerbacks. We are practically playing with 10 men. And Jorginho is "controlling the tempo" at a slow pace to allow us to make any meaningful attack.
  13. He has been useless. The only thing he had going for him was his crosses and he's been bad at that too since the restart
  14. That's how it is once Jorginho plays Sent from my SM-A307FN using Tapatalk
  15. Our tempo is so slow... we can't put any pressure on Sheffield's defence this way. But that's what we get when we play Jorginho to "control the tempo" Sent from my SM-A307FN using Tapatalk
  16. Mount caused this goal... clear the damn ball Sent from my SM-A307FN using Tapatalk
  17. This is surprising. Muller may not be "silky and exciting" like many midfielders but there was a reason why he played in a great world cup winning German team. There's a reason why every coach that came to Bayern realized they couldn't do without him and when played he delivered consistently. He's a manager's dream, can play every position in attack and puts up good numbers consistently. He has obviously declined compared to 2013-2018 prime years but I won't forget his impact of the last few years
  18. Lampard has taken a risk today. Hopefully it pays off. Tactically Abraham should be making runs to stretch the three centre backs of Sheffield. But I hope he's ready to contest for balls and not put a weak performance like he did against west ham
  19. I see him as a more technical version of Muller. Havertz can play multiple roles like muller, He's German, He makes great runs into the box to score, He has the vision to see teammates running into space, He has excellent shooting technique. I know people may not appreciate Muller but I regard him very highly, he's one of the most underrated players of this generation. Muller already has the bundesliga record for assists this season. Havertz has the technique and skillset to even surpass Muller, so he could definitely become a great player
  20. And Sheffield have scored 5 of their last 10 goals from corners. How convenient
  21. The guy is a natural, got the skills. I'm fully satisfied if we are getting this guy when we let willian go.
  22. And he's still insisting that they'll stick to 90mil pounds when they just lost champs league football and the money from it. Once Havertz insists he's leaving that valuation will go down Sent from my SM-A307FN using Tapatalk
  23. Jorginho did well in helping us hold possession, control the tempo of the game and make it slow like sarri's style. But once other players made individual errors like Abraham giving the ball away, Palace cut through the midfield like butter and the post / Zouma saved us a couple of times from conceding. You can't account for the mistakes of others like James losing the ball in a crucial area leading to Zaha worldie / Kepa not saving a direct shot at him and Christensen falling like Cahill and costing us a goal. So no matter if Jorginho has a pass accuracy of 91% like Gilmour and not giving the ball away only Zouma and the post prevented us from conceding 2 goals while he was on the pitch. Gilmour was decent yesterday, a solid 6.5 or 7/10 in my opinion. That Jorginho was better on the day does not mean that Gilmour played terrible imo.
  24. He also had a passing accuracy of 91% I saw a lot of people say he had a bad game. I don't think so. He competed against palace throughout the game, infact part of palace tactics was Benteke staying beside Gilmour to win goalkicks and Gilmour fought on despite the height difference. He made crucial tackles and was always there for the defence. Gilmour has been blamed for the first goal, but James lost the ball again and there were two palace players running free on our right flank, Gilmour had to cover the spaces than to allow our centerback vacate his position. Gilmour blocked the pass but the ball unfortunately falls to zaha who hits a shot from 30 yards centrally that Kepa should have got his hands on. Palace were physical and Gilmour helped to restrict palace from creating any meaningful chances while on the pitch, even though Palace had a gameplan to target Gilmour throughout. You can see that when he came off and Palace stopped sitting back and really attacked us in the last few minutes we nearly conceded 3 goals.
