  1. Aerial stats are Definitely not true that's why I asked who posted this [emoji1] Sent from my SM-A307FN using Tapatalk
  2. By far in my opinion. I thought I saw a great regista in Jorginho till I saw Gilmour Sent from my SM-A307FN using Tapatalk
  3. Billy with 2 goals today against QPR. Who pulled out these stats
  4. Gilmour has a lot of xavi traits in him. The way he dribbles out of pressure is sublime, elegant and fantastic to watch. Defenders and footballers in general love to play beside people like this
  5. "It's also a bit of a paradox when you always talk about new signings and at the same time reduce salaries" - said Thomas Müller on a possible Havertz signing [bild]
  6. He is going to be a great footballer in the future. In England deep playmakers like him are not appreciated much but I see a bit of Verrati/Scholes in him. He can tackle, run, dribble, pass and most importantly he has total awareness of everything on the pitch. He knows if someone is trying to close him down from the side because he takes a little look before the ball gets to him and gives the ball to the free man or dribbles out of the press. He is a managers dream, a captain on the pitch the way he controls the match. I would give my left nut to make him a starter right away from now. Even next season with all the new signings, if we can get super intelligent players like Gilmour and Havertz on the pitch at the same time, it would be on par with Mancity's KDB and Silva level intelligence on the pitch. We would be able to control matches where the team is better than us and totally dominate matches where we are better than the opposition (we saw this against Liverpool and Everton when Gilmour starts) Chelsea have a rare gem here. He's my favorite player at the club actually.
  7. If we get him, then we are replacing Willian and Pedro with Ziyech and Kai. And Michy with Werner. That’s a freakin’ scary upgrade.
  8. That sounds quite promising. I went back to look for some video's of him to understand what this hype is all about. He's a great passer with KDB type vision for runners and players in free space. How this has not translated into more assists is a mystery. He also has fantastic shooting technique (volleys, first time shots, Headers, shot power, chips, placement) Because of our previous failures in signings (cuadrado, Bakayoko, Barkley etc) I made up my mind not to be hyped about any players without a good goals or assist record. But with Havertz talent, he should have had far more assists.
  9. Thats definitely a good point. We'll see how good he is in the coming games
  10. Maybe I've underestimated him immensely. I have a phobia for very tall creative midfelders. I always want creative midfielders around kdb or david silva height I can tell he moves the ball with confidence and class, but you really hold him in high regard to be mentioning those greats. My only problem is how come his name was not widely known till after this pandemic.
  11. Honestly I will only be satisfied with his signing if he is playing beside Werner in attack. Havertz is tall, and scores goals but his assists is not good enough to become the fulcrum of our creativity in attack, we have Ziyech for that. If we get him for 45mil, I would be elated with the signing, but if I see 75mil used on him, it would feel like we wasted so much money.
  12. I must be the only chelsea fan not convinced by Havertz. He has some skills and is a good passer obviously but I've watched a lot of his matches and highlights now and I'm yet to see anything SIGNIFICANT he has over Loftus Cheek imo. He has 11 goals and 5 assists in 26 or so matches in the league, and people are saying he's a great passer? That assist record is too small to convince me, given how high up the pitch he plays. I generally am never convinced by very big creative midfielders (where is all the hype about savic now). He is worth 45mil but not this 75mil I've been seeing flying around. I hope we don't buy him honestly, if we have to get an attacking mid, Aouar from Lyon would be better.
  13. Your missing one huge strength of his, which is his ability to play multiple roles. Lampard changed formations all season to cope with opposition tactics and Werner immediately provides so many different solutions including a two striker system which lampard tried in preseason but Batsuayi couldn't mend with Abraham, hence Lamps didn't use it much again. We could now play 4-2-3-1 very attacking against small teams with all three players behind Abraham interchanging Abraham Pulisic/CHO - Werner - Ziyech Kovacic - Kante OR 4-3-3 with Werner up top against big teams with space in behind Pulisic/CHO - Werner - Ziyech RLC/mount - Kante Kovacic OR 4-3-3 with Abraham up top and Werner playing the CRonaldo role while Ziyech finds him all day with exquisite long range passes onto his runs Werner - Abraham - Ziyech Rlc/Mount - Kante Kovacic/Gilmour OR 3-4-3 with Ziyech in a free role behind two strikers (This can only work if we have super attacking wingbacks on both wings) Werner - Abraham Ziyech Chilwell - Kovacic - Kante - James Rudiger - Christensen - Azpi OR 3-4-3 Conte style with Azpi back in his strongest position Werner - Abraham - Ziyech Chilwell - Kovacic - Kante - James Rudiger - Christensen - Azpi
  14. Werner's best performance of the season. He practically has a free role, interchanging with players. Like I said, Abraham will play alongside him unless against big teams where there will be enough space to play the striker position alone.
  15. I feel Werner would still cope if teams defend deep against him. He has a powerful shot on him and can score some long range goals if he doesn't have space to run. After all leicester is 3rd on the premier league table and smaller teams tried to park the bus against them to cope but Vardy still did well. Werner will still need time to adapt though, but I like his chances. He is definitely not a Morata or Torres signing. He has way more tools in his box.
  16. Hopefully he can cope with the physicality of the league, but I rather see him similar to Vardy. Both in stature, speed, style of play and shooting style. If he can provide similar goal output to Vardy and still give high number of assists then he has done well imo.
  17. I don't think Abraham will be benched. We could line up with a formation like this Abraham Pulisic/CHO - Werner - Ziyech Kovacic - Kante OR Werner - Abraham - Ziyech Rlc/Mount - Kante Kovacic/Gilmour This way we have more goalscorers on the pitch with ziyech supplying them. In fact, in Liepzeg, Poulsen plays with werner and provides the hold up play up front while Werner runs in behind. This could play out the same way with Abraham and Werner. Also Judging from our pursuit of Chilwell, Lamps may just be looking for a very attacking left wing back along side Reece james and aiming for a 3-4-3 Just like liepzeg like this Werner - Abraham Ziyech Chilwell - Kovacic - Kante - James Rudiger - Christensen - Azpi OR Werner - Abraham - Ziyech Chilwell - Kovacic - Kante - James Rudiger - Christensen - Azpi Both ways Werner is going to benefit from the system as he's so versatile and has a strong weak foot. He has 30 goals already, he's not a small player and with his entry, we have him and ziyech with long range shooting. Finally I thought I'll never see the days of Lamps and Ballack taking long shots again....
  18. Exactly. Its honestly no coincidence. I hope lamps trusts Gilmour more.
  19. Gilmour's presence has improved the players around him. Mount has scored his first goal in 19 matches, Even Barkley is looking like Debruyne,
  20. I even think he's a better passer than Jorginho, but I don't want to push it since he's young and it's only two games. Jorginho has this annoying knack for giving difficult to receive passes which makes the attacker need to take an extra touch before he can control the ball, Gilmour passes it on the grass, neat and tidy. And he also gets his head up before he receives a pass, so he knows if he's manmarked and who to pass to before the ball gets to him. He also covers so much ground its ridiculous. Gilmour reminds me of a young Verrati really
  21. Fantastic performance. He has all Jorginho's attributes but with more speed and strength to boot. He has to be a starter from now on. There must be a reason why we are so comfortable anytime he's controlling the midfield.
