We always had injuries, but we seemed to be hit with them in a more devastating way since Grunts arrival as "Director of football" Coincidence ????......

Shevchenko was 29 when we..............errrr............... Yeah he's fat

The word on the street is that Fergie has been giving McCleish the low down on the other teams in the Prem. McCLeish mentioned in an interview that he had words with Fergie recently and the Arsenal game cropped up in conversation. Now with Fergie and McCleish having ties with each other that go back to when Fergie was manager of Aberdeen, It wouldnt surprise me if Birmingham go out to stifle us as they done with the Gooners. Fergie has no doubt given him plenty of information on us and how to play against us, so I'm not expecting us to win this game so easily as others may expect. We will need to hit them with an early goal to throw up in the air and plans Big Eck has of trying to get something from the game. To keep in contention with them other two......this is a must win game. The more points we pick up now the better position we will be in come the return of our missing players either from injury or ACON duty. Pizarro is injured apparently so it looks like Anelka will be starting up front. I'll be happy with a 1-0 win

Vital - football Awwwww no

Before, while Jose was here I would have said no fucking way...where would he fit into our team. He wouldnt chase back and do his shift when needed. Our tactics were to keep it tight and defend what we had, if we scored more then so be it. Now we are apparently playing more "attacking" football and defending what we had doesnt seem so high on the agenda atm, so getting Mr Ed may well be a good move. He has went off the boil the last few months, but he's the sort of player who can turn the game in the blink of an eye. Something we dont have atm and whats to say he wont rediscover his game once more. Course he will. He's 29 ( I think) so we could get a few years out of him at least before he really goes into decline.

Potential 2007/8 Honours Update
Aesthetic Relic replied to Fulham Broadway's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
This season has all been about Francenals free flowing football and Manures total football and we've been quietly going through the motions. Most of the attention on us had been about Grunts appointment and with the fans showing their negativity towards him, that has maybe run in our favour with the others neglecting to consider us as serious challengers. When all the ACON boys return we should also have Lamps, JT and Sheva back ready for the final charge toward the top. Theres something twitching in the back of my head saying that we can do the the impossible and take the title. Grunt has been lucky with some of his results and his tactical changes during a game have been bonkers to say the least, but funnily enough, they work out. You need luck along the way to the title and Grunt certainly has had that from day 1 of his appointment. It wouldnt surprise me in the slightest if things went our way. Its been a fucked up season so far, and theres gonna be a lot more crazy shit on the cards before May. -
Pizarro Pleads For Chance

Just not that effective. Doesnt look like he'll be around much longer imo. Wether Drogba goes or not in the summer we will certainly be looking for another top striker and Pizarro will almost definately be surpluss to requirements. -
I like it a lot

I almost sure Miguel can also play at CB.... If i'm right then this could be a very good deal.
-
I mentioned before that he could return for the Liverpool game on 9th Feb....then theres a break of about 2 weeks until we play Olympiakos in the C/L before traveling to three point lane on 23rd Feb. We have the luxury now of not having to rush him back, now that we have ample cover at the back.....let him heal fully and have the extra 2 weeks off to recouperte for the final push of the season....by then we will have everyone back from the ACON and we'll see what sort of position we are in to challenge for the title. Still dont think we'll do it..........but........stranger things have happened.

Drogba To Anelka: I Am Chelsea's Star
Aesthetic Relic replied to Steve's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
Sheva could be a dark horse in all this. He looked really really sharp before his injury and I hope that its not another flash in the pan. I'd love this to be the time when he really steps up his game and proves he's still got it. -
My f*cking cat has more tactical knowledge than Grunt....... My cat has a wider vocabulary than Grunt.......(quote)...."Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh"

He was asked after the....uhhhhh....."What do you feel about Arsenal slipping up?"....again he said .....Uhhhhhh....before turning to his right and talking (Israeli I take it) to someone behind him before turning back and saying...."They dropped points?"..... No fucking shit Sherlock
-
Dont think it was an elbow or Paul McStay....It was a definate head butt against John McStay of Raith rovers. This pic is a classic Big Dunc moment of madness Souness I can remember on his debut as Rangers player manager getting sent off for a wild tackle on some Hibs player almost cutting him in half

Inconsistency Of Refereeing
Aesthetic Relic replied to Aesthetic Relic's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
Mikel overstretched for his red.......Malbranque and Carsley both slid into tackles with their feet raised which would cause more damage imo. They get yellows. Thats where a difference should be made. If you instinctively stick a leg out you're less likely to break someones leg than you would if you go flying into a tackle with your feet in the air and catching someone above the ankle -
Good to see both Chelsea boys getting on the score sheet, more so Drogba as we need him to stay sharp and injury free.
-
Grants response sums up why so many of us feel so negative about him. Such a plank......in one ear and out the other
-
Watching MOTD atm and noticed the tackle by Malbranque on SWP was 10 times worse than the one Mikel got sent off for....and then Carsley catches some guy shin high studs up and both recieve yellows. Is it any wonder we go on the offensive defending the injustice toward our players

Mikel: I Am Not A Monster
Aesthetic Relic replied to Aesthetic Relic's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
You should listen to yourself Whats the point of him playing football if he doesnt want to win the ball. I've never once denied he's wreckless at times, but to say he has no intention of winning the ball is insane !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -

Mikel: I Am Not A Monster

Thats bollocks. You can tell by a players face if he intends on busting someone. He DOES NOT go in to take people out -

I cant believe some of the comments on here. How can you seriously think that Mikel walks onto the pitch and gets into the frame of mind to do someone damage with a tackle. His latest red was a joke. He stretched for the ball and no matter what way he went for that ball his studs would have been up. Intent on injurying someone?????....wind yer neck in. The one against Manure........Evra jumped into the air to avoid getting crunched in a 50-50 (pussy)....theres clips on the web showing Mikels foot did not connect with him directly and at the point of impact, Mikels foot was firmly on the ground. Again.....absolute joke. If anything its Mikels age and willingness to impress amongst some of the best players in Europe that gets him into trouble more than anything. Look at the size of him ffs.....HE FUCKIN HUUUUUUUUUUUGE. He's an intimidating player to come up against and that too would go against him when he goes into tackle. Players are gonna pull out or not go in full heartedly as they know Mikle will not hold back, thus in turn causing themselves injuries. Would you fancy going into a 50-50 with him?. -
Got caught up in traffic and missed the bloody first half.....then i tried to get a stream working and that failed too. Listened to the last 20 minutes on 5-live. Anelka certainly made an impact. Another 3 points and our performances seem to be improving by the game. Result wise elsewhere, a very productive day
