  1. But we were the dominant side in the league, it was very rare for us not to score.
  2. Sheva's goals came against weaker opposition though, the league is much more open and difficult now. Under Jose we were winning the league with games to spare.
  3. He already sort of has been. He hardly plays, a bit like Paulo Ferreira with us. I doubt Mourinho would put him in the U21's but i think that is the club trying to stimulate Malouda into action, as maybe his pride won't let him play in such a manner and he will accept a loan or lower wage package elsewhere.
  4. Its probably just portrayed badly over here then. Obviously its not the fault of the sporting system, I was just trying to argue that the English system is not unique in producing arrogant, over-priviledged stars.
  5. It was long before the time he went off that he got injured. Hodgson offered to take him off with 20 minutes to go, which would of put us down to 10men, as all subs had been used. JT proved once again what a warrior he is for his country, battling through injury despite us having a 3 goal lead when it occurred. Still put in some solid tackles carrying the injury. I did find it funny though when he clearly couldn't jump when he tried to clear a set piece. Lets hope its not too serious, its basically a twisted ankle. Hodgson in his post match interview said it is 'obviously not a serious injury' and expects him to recover for the next england game.
  6. I was talking more of American football players, not really basketball players. On the few occasions that the NFL has been on English television, the players have come across as really arrogant. Their celebrations are way over the top and would be heavily criticised if footballers were to do the same, as is the constant slating of opponents. Slating can be amusing in some cases, for example in cricket i love the banter between the teams during the Ashes, but the American players seem to be do it to an extent that it becomes distasteful.
  7. Most youth academies require that you attend a college course in the UK also. A couple of my friends that went through youth teams were required to attend a course regularly. Im not so sure American footballers are any better and less arrogant than English ones. From what I gather in fact they are a lot worse in many cases.
  8. This video basically sums up the thoughts of every football fan excluding the manure. Whats it from though? i don't get why he is in a united pub if he hates them.
  9. I don't think you can rely on Talksport, they spout so much crap on that show that they keep the sewage system in business.
  10. Its no wonder he was always doing last minute business in the transfer window, it had probably taken him the whole window to sign the contracts.
  11. Cheers, hopefully Lukaku can cement his place as Belgium's main striker. Given his physical characteristics and talent, I doubt he will play second fiddle to anyone but the best.
  12. Its a sport that is a lot like F1, quite repetitive in sections but a lot more exciting at the end.
  13. Benteke is the player aston Villa bought right? Is he any good?
  14. He has returned to training and RDM has said it is likely that he will play. Fingers crossed, i think he could be bargain of the season.
  15. We should win, but I'm not sure it will be comfortable. This is a big game for them and we struggled there last year.
  16. I wonder how many people opened a new tab in google after reading this thread.
  17. Torres should do well this season, if he doesn't he has no excuses; we are playing to suit him and he's definitely getting the service now. I would still like us to buy Falcao, as i reckon he is the best striker in the world currently. We missed Aguero because we thought we had too many strikers, I would hate for it to happen again.
  18. Just wondering mate, where do you get these photos from? Is it from twitter?
  19. I'm guessing that coming from Brazil he is a devout Catholic. Might explain why he has got married so earlier. Still kind of confused whose his wife and whose his sister. Surely the one in the white dress is his wife? But it looks like a different person with their arms around him in the other picture.
  20. Essien has to have been one of the most complete footballers ever. He could tackle, shoot and was amazing at passing, on top of this he never stopped running, the guy had a bigger engine than a tractor. Hopefully he can return to near his best and come back to us. If he doesn't and decides to stay with his 'daddy' (I'm excusing the creepiness of this due to the respect i have for the guy) i wish him all the best and will remember the memories he has given.
  21. would be great, but very unlikely. I would love us to do an invincible season, then no-one would be able to say we have no history. I'd prefer being the first team to back to back Champions leagues though.
  22. I don't need a dream scenario of Chelsea winning the league, as come the end of the season it will be a reality. Would be jokes for Mikel to get a important winning goal though.
  23. Players hardly ever go from Atletico to Real, if they did Aguero would of most likely been a Real player but as it was their rivals Atletico increased the price they wanted.
