Don't forget Ramires is actually a CM and I think management reckons Oscar can do a job in Lampard's current role, he played there against Reading. I'm happy with our striking options, don't forget we have Piazon too.
-
I would argue that Terry is still world class, he showed it at the Euros and paired with a fast cb he is great. Torres is showing signs of recovery. Lampard I'm not sure about, against possession based teams he can do a job but against AM he was caught too often up the pitch.
-
Its got to be the biggest knee jerk reaction to a game I've seen. We are top of the league for crying out loud.
-
I agree, RDM shows huge potential. He ha shown us he can set a team up to defend as he did against Barca and Bayern and also to attack like he did for the second leg versus Napoli
-
Even SAF took a couple of seasons to settle at united and the fans wanted him out in the third. Can you imagine of they had got rid of him in 1989. I still reckon we should of kept Carlo though.
-
Well I'm guessing its the one where he missed the ball and let it roll to Falcao (the video only really shows the goal). Although he made a mistake, Falcao's shot was amazing and i would of put the blame on Cole for allowing that much time and space in the area; he backed off when he should of been closing Falcao down and trying to block the shot.
-
My issue with the guy is that he has the potential to be amazing but quite often he makes decisions that are astonishing. You can't blame him for the second and third though, the second was just an amazing goal and the third was a breakaway from a corner ( i would blame lampard for his causal jogging at the edge of the box). As for the almost own goal, he prevented an almost certain goal, so give him some credit.

Its nice for him to come out and say it, he didn't need to do it.

I disagree. It isn't really a big game, its basically a glorified friendly, and Cesar's pace would have been better able to deal with Lopez's speed. Ivanovic could not keep up and AM noticed this and took advantage of it.
-
This has probably been our best transfer window. We've spent £79.5mil and even though i would of liked to have seen another striker, being help to ransom by clubs is not a good move for the club. We have Piazon as well, who i can see getting a couple of games in cup games and lesser league matches.

RDM got his tactics wrong today, but if you consider that he is still learning as a manager perhaps this will help him to improve. Having said that, I don't know if I am happy having a manager who is developing at the club, although if you consider SAF won nothing in his first year at united and many wanted him sacked and look at him now. Perhaps keeping RDM in the job will improve our consistency and we can build a legacy like that at united. We've got the resources to do so, but this constant changing is effecting the club. Added to this RDM has won his first three BPL games, so we shouldn't be so quick to judge him.
-
Im not bothered by the defeat but by the manner of the defeat. However ever year a team will suffer a bad defeat, hopefully this is our only one and if so I'm glad it came in what is basically a pointless game.
-
In my opinion his tactics have been good up until this game. However the board clearly did not see him as first choice given how long they took to appoint him. I hope he succeeds as he has done well for the club as a player and manager. Today was exceptionally bad, but you can't blame RDM for a poor team performance, however he did little to effect the game and i don't understand why he only brought sturidge on with 5mins to go; if you need a goal put your strikers on.
-
We were only really exposed against city when down to ten men, before that we defended well. Tonight was poor however, no excuses.
-
Im guessing that they hope he is able to regain form and if not at least advertise some of his ability on order to sell him on next summer. We have enough centre mids just not enough of the right quality or consistency in performance, hopefully the likes of Romeu, Mikel and Ramires will be able to develop and take up these roles. Mikel has shown signs that he is capable of doing so.
-
It did seem as though we were not prepared for AM although i reckon this is down to the players not the management. Cahill said after the game that they had prepared as well as any other fixture, my guess is that they underestimated AM and did show the same desire that AM did.
-
I guess it is the result of no additional transfers coming in, deadline day deals are always exciting, and our first serious defeat of the season that can't be put down to poor refereeing decisions.
-
David Luiz does annoy me, but also he is one of my favourite players (paradoxical i know). My biggest issue with him is that he could be world class, but his decision making on occasions is so poor. Hopefully we will see more of the composed David Luiz that we saw in the Champions League and less of the ten year old playing fifa.
-
Several good deals that went through today were the loans. SOme older players were removed from the wage bill, though i would prefer it if essien wasn't, and Chalobah and Kakuta's loans can hopefully help them progress.
-
You would hope so, I've got a feeling his lack of games is down either to a fear of Barca wanting to buy him back if he performs well or the legacy of his injury is greater than previously suggested and he is still recovering like Essien.
-
He seems to be popular in france still. He seems to make the national squad for every fixture.
-
I noticed this too, was very worried when Reading found it easy to attack us. Both Wigan and Newcastle had good chances to score too. I don't want us to turn into a new Arsenal and not being able to defend, especially as it was a strength of ours last year. Hopefully when we are properly settled these errors will be ironed out.
-
I agree we could need him, but we've got to look at the positives now. Maybe in January if we are clearly short we will go in for someone like Witsel or M'Villa. I also like Wanyama from Celtic, who i reckon could develop into a player like Essien.
-
We have a lot to play with. Against lesser teams i can see Oscar in that pivotal role that Lampard plays. My issue with Merieles is that he is very inconsistent, some times he's great, some times i don't understand how he ever became a professional footballer. Romeu should get more game time.
-
I agree Mikel was the best player today. He can't be blamed for the pace of AM attack and lack of support given to the defence by Lampard and the wingers.
