  1. Perhaps someone can enlighten me, but i still don't really understand what happened at Hillsborough. Why was there too many fans in the stand that caused the tragedy and why did no-one recognise this rather than continue to let people through the gate? Surely there was a set amount of tickets for that particularly stand, I don't understand how the situation arose. Surely the people would entering would notice that there was an issue? I've heard there were 800 police officers at the ground, this should be enough to monitor the situation rather than allowing it to continue and what about the players and stewards around and on the pitch, why did they not open the gates to allow the fans onto the pitch? There are so many questions about this event, its a disgrace that it has taken this long for them to be answered. I know the families of the 96 want justice, but i can't see what justice they can get, would the officials that allowed it to occur be punished? I've heard mentions of a police cover up, surely those involved in this will be punished? Tragic day for football, that hopefully won't occur again.
  2. I agree that he makes errors but he more commonly makes errors when he is played on the wing. When playing centrally he doesn't try any extravagant skill or crosses and his passing is close range, which he is good at. Marin has had only a couple of good seasons, he was poor at Bremen last year. If played in the right position Ramires is consistent, Marin has to prove himself at Chelsea also, although I'm sure he could do a great job on the right wing. He is still yet to prove himself in my opinion.
  3. I think you're being a bit harsh on Ramires. He is the engine of our team and popped up with crucial goals last season. I agree we would be much better having either Marin or Moses on the right wing and allowing Ramires to play centrally, as when we play him right we lack width.
  4. I love how Rio is acting like he is an example of good morals as well. He was banned for 8 months for a positive drugs test and just yesterday he was banned from driving for 6 months for being caught speeding three times through an area with schools in. Class act.
  5. Many people thought that. I think it was Ruud Gullit who said it was like Chelsea had a blue angel sitting in their goal stopping opposition teams form scoring.
  6. What I find funny is that Rio was annoyed at Ashley Cole for supporting someone who he thought had said a racist term so he used a derogatory racial term to insult him on a social networking site available to all to see. Genius.
  7. So Pep Guardiola, the most successful manager of recent times, is going to reject all the top clubs in Europe begging for him to come manage them to join QPR? Did he not understand the term realistic?
  8. I know mate, i was kinda joking. it is weird how he misses so much against us though when he is so accurate against other clubs. He is never at his best against us, but i don't think it is because we contain him.
  9. I agree we cannot know how he will do in the future, which is why I don't like to discuss the idea of a best player of all time.
  10. Its the same with every sport though, as time has gone on the standard of football has got better and therefore it is quite a valid argument that more recent players are the best ever. The outstanding players of previous generations were great for their time, but I'm not sure how they would cope with the athleticism of modern footballers or their skill levels. But then again i suppose you could argue that given the same treatment as modern stars (quality pitches, training, boots and type of balls), they might have surpassed them in skill. To be honest i have never really liked the idea of the 'best player of all time' as players from different generations are basically incomparable. Having said that I can't imagine anything better than Messi; unbelievably gifted.
  11. Chelsea seem to know how to contain him though. He's never scored against us; he even missed a penalty. Perhaps he has a mental block when playing against us, either that or JT has his wife's number and has threatened to use it if he does well against us.
  12. If benteke was so poor why did the coach not bring Lukaku on? surely he would of made a difference?
  13. not one of them would make out squad though.
  14. It is only china though, i feel a bit sorry for them. Brazil had a point to prove after their game against South Africa.
  15. Maybe Brazil should try a similar tactic to Spain, but instead of not having an out an out striker, they could take away the keeper and play five in midfield haha. A good rebound from a strange game against South africa.
  16. Haha, it doesn't sound at all one sided. I suppose they are still assists at full international level though so it will look good statistically,
  17. Maybe, but as soon as these players progress they will move onto better teams, as tarrabt tried to do and probably will eventually do. Also their current transfer actions do not suggest young players being brought in. M'bia is a good buy, but Julio Cesar is ageing and they also bought Rob Green, suggesting that their transfer organisers are not properly looking at targets and then buying them but rather just frantically purchasing players.
  18. I doubt they will be able to do a city and buy the league though. There is too much competition for high spending clubs now. Anzi, PSG, Zenit St Petersburg, City and Chelsea are all able to spend big and despite the finances QPR has limited appeal. I can see them getting relegated and the owner losing interest in a similar manner to Portsmouth.
  19. Ah ok haha, I suppose its not too hard to work in the double pivot role if your team has nearly all the possession. Nice to see our players doing well though. Has Luiz been tested at all or is it basically a walk in the park for Brazil's defence?
  20. Im not watching but he can't be playing too badly after having given to assists. How is Ramires doing in the double pivot role?
  21. Im still slightly worried. If he can't stretch his arm out properly surely this will effect his ability as a goalkeeper?
  22. Its still a valid point i reckon. Drogba and Anelka were getting older and were clear not the long term solution, whereas when shevchenko was playing Drogba was still quite young and had many years left to play.
  23. I suppose the difference is if Torres doesn't come good then what do we have? Whereas with Shevchenko, if he didn't come good we had our creates striker of all time (in my opinion).
