Pato has been without an injury for more than a year. He played this entire Brazilian season. However, he explicity stated several times he doesnt want to be a striker anymore. Now he plays in the same potion Miller does and what Rooney used to with SAF when RVP and Berbatov were on the line up. Or even a better example, he plays in the same position Sturridge used to play when Suarez was at Liverpool. Also, he is only good enough to be a backup imo. His time has past. Its a shame because he trully had potential, but it happens.

Because lets say we have a CB, CM and ST as ideal targets but all (or some) cant play in the UCL. Should we sign a different player just because they can play in the UCL?I honestly think this would be a very bad strategy or the future since they might do a Fabregas/Costa AGAIN due to them not being our primary intention. At least some members have my utter most respect because even if they heavily criticize Jose, they still put their energy into supporting the team when we are playing. No, because Europa League doesnt give that much less points if you advance on it. So, even if what you are proposing happens but Juve and Roma lose in the next round and lets say all three English teams manage to reach the semi-finals of Europa League, I think we would still retain 4 spots.

For the same reason players barely move from SA directly to Europe's top clubs. Because they prefer to pay millions to clubs like Atletico, Porto, Shakthar, Benfica, Ajax, etc, than to do a proper scouting job and allow playing time so the players can develop and shine. A club like Chelsea usually doesnt want to take the risk in signing a relatively unknown Argentinean who has only won things in South American instead of signing a big markee European name. Even if the manager has shown to be quality and pay-off can be huge. It is just how things are...

Honestly I would sack Mourinho after the Porto match no matter what the result is. I would try to arrange a deal where we could maybe meet him halfway on the release clause or w/e. Then, I would hire Sampaoli. He doesnt receive that much money in Chile and his unhappy with the turn of events after Chilean FA president left less than a month ago. He has great tactics and is known to be a "players manager". I cant see us going wrong with it, specially since he is a cheaper option. Exactly. I dont think losing is the main reason all are upset. Its that Jose isnt showing any signs of improvement. Fabregas, Ivanovic and Oscar are complete and utter shit and he still plays them regularly. Even if he doesnt think RLC and Remy are ready, it would be definitely worth to give it a try. Plus, what different set up has he tried? The only different thing he tried was to play strikeless and that has already be proven to not work back when RDM tried it. I mean WTF! I am pissed.
