  1. To me Willian gives so much more than Hazard, not just his attitude, but the desire to win the ball when he doesnt have it, and his all round effort at the moment is head and shoulders above not just Hazard, but a lot of the team
  2. We started poorly, right from kick off we went back to keeper, gave the ball away and were frankly lucky not to concede in the first 20 minutes. This is typical Chels. We can't afford to start like that at the Bridge. After that I thought Fabregas showed the class needed to drag us back into game and his control and confidence on ball quickly spread, a Lampardesque influence, and we played one of our best games of the season. Cahill and Ivan were classic Chelsea centre backs in a tough European game. They were very strong, battled very hard but a slight criticism is that rarely seem comfortable with the ball. Baba was encouraging and it makes a big difference having a left back with a left foot, we would be foolish not to see more of him between now and end of season. Willian is so comfortable on the ball always has time and composure - at the moment I'd be far more concerned if he was contemplating leaving than Hazard
  3. Souleymane on the radio, after counselling, constant medication, and six months off work -his ''wounds are still raw'' apparently. Hope he manages to recover one day. Anyway at least he has a free ticket for tonight
  4. Wee Pat was saying how many times he said stuff , and it was taken out of context about going to another club Even if its true, he needs to show the opposition tonight hes worth it so a sterling performance is on the cards
  5. As long as we score tonight, reckon we'll take them at the Bridge. We got our Chelsea back -Come on Chelsea !
  6. Thats ok hes going to head the winner at our place
  7. A footballers statement ; -''I am happy here, I love this club, I have no intention of going anywhere else'' Translation ;- '' I will be out of here like a shot if somewhere else offers me more money''
  8. Think we'll be OK over the two legs -the players will raise their game again. Big shout out to the travelling fans who will doubtless get the abuse we normally get over there, along with the kickings from the cops
  9. Yup Barnard, Tenebaum, Buck, Graniskaia, Emanalo -heard they all have a vote...
  10. He hasn't done much different on the starting team front but probably a lot has gone on in the training ground. I look at Costa and I reckon there's been a word in his ear. Not looking for too much trouble, sharper and looking lean and mean. Costa's form has lifted the form of many others but mostly Cesc who is playing superbly and finding runners that weren't there under Jose...for whatever reason. Just waiting for Hazard to get into his stride again after injury and miserable form. I'm rather hoping he gets some fortune v PSG that he can carry over. Guus, is an absolute gentleman who must be a pleasure to work under. There are many components to being a good manager and Guus seems to have plenty in his locker. He's certainly putting out happy looking players.
  11. Not sure how true that is - I have it from a friend of friend who works at SB -so again not sure how reliable: He deals with all the mid level and Youth stuff, and Maria Granovskaia deals with the first team transfers, but they are all on a board/committee that has an equal voteincluding Emanalo, bizarre as it may seem
  12. Because you made a general statement about him not writing cheques to people that dont earn them.
  13. Could be, but probably more to do with a present for nice divorce settlement authorised by the Russian authorities amounting to hundreds of millions rather than billions
  14. No, he bumbled Into money by hanging around a permanently drunk Yeltsin. Giving a £30m yacht to Putin last month Is hardly saying Putin 'earned It'
  15. If as much of the media says, he Is abramovichs eyes and ears, that Is a good enough reason for abramovich to keep him there. It doesnt mean he Is kept on for his football knowledge. People also need to stop thinking abramovich Isnt stupid just because he has loads of money
  16. Why ? Chinese proverb explains all.... 有錢能使鬼推磨 (pinyin: yǒu qián néng shǐ guǐ tuī mò) Literally: If you have money you can make the devil push your grind stone. Note: English equivalent: When money talks, bullshit walks.
  17. Well the chinese window still open, they might up the offer On the positive, Gus seems to be getting better out of him. Hes also 24, when Frank was the same age it was his second season, and loads wanted him gone...
  18. Pretty dire last night -legs flailing all over the shop, seems to love taking on a couple of players down the wing then losing it. Our worst performer this season so far, up there with Hazard
  19. Yes you quoted some of the half truths about his family -stuff that the gutter press like to look down their noses at -a working class footballer who comes from poverty and digging up . The best footballers come from the street, Sanchez, Messi, Costa, Rooney, Ronaldo all with troubled home lives and families -in Terrys case playing on Hackney Marshes and a council estate. Snotty journos who have had a middle class existence like nothing more than attacking a working class, or black boxer made good. The reason a horrible piece of shit like Joey Barton is still feted and prostituted around clubs is solely because he raises revenue, any other profession and he would be in jail. It seemed to me your post was just rehashing media tittle tattle, trying to make out the board were being saintly in keeping him. The reason the club didn't get rid of him because the sum of the benefit (trophies and money) outweighed the scandal factor by a mile. It has nothing to do with them being benign employers .No, it would have been a hard business decision based on his superb ability and the money he brings to the club, a decision based on sheer economics, plus the fear of fan backlash in terms of the boards own spinelessness. But if we have to drag up his private life lets not forget the other stuff John does, all the out of club boxing training routines he does to keep at peak fitness. The stuff that doesn't sell papers -like the millions hes given to charity, the lifts he gives to fans in his Bentley to away games, and all the selfless stuff for the Small Steps Project, Make a Wish Foundation, and at Great Ormond Street Hospital , spending time with children who have hours to live because of a hideous cancer. Apart from that, the best defender in the Premier league and Chelsea best player ever.
  20. @peace you post rare long articulate essays, that ocassionally hit the mark, this one is spectacularly way off. Its the anti Chelsea bile from a T*ttenham fanzine, its the bitter ramblings of a trophy hungry Arsenal teenager in his bedroom, its a hateful jealous diatribe from a liverpool fan masturbating in a toilet. a post that can only reiterate the half truths from tabloid papers regarding the private life of the greatest player ever to play for Chelsea, the team you purport to support - tell us that you copied from a rival forum, and its a wind up, a sick joke.
  21. So you'll be changing your username any time now then ?
  22. We are not having any more 'hire then sack' managers. The football will be run by Buck and Emanalo as it is now, and we will appoint mediocre managers then immediately put them out on loan.
