  1. Shürlle could play as a second striker. On the right wing also, with his running, he could do call behind the defense and offers easy tap-in for the striker or shoots himself. Hazard when he played at Lille, the year when they were champions, played mostly in trequartista role behind Sow and gervinho, drifting left, center, right. Schürlle could play the Gervinho role of Lille quite effectively, running into the spaces. It seems to me that Mourinho used this formation quite a lot when he was at Porto with Deco behind two forwards.
  2. Thiago, David Luiz, Gustavo, Paulinho, a very solid and physical presence. Brazil was better than Japan but I was disappointed by the match, It was very boring and was very disappointed by the lack of good play in midfield of the Brazilian team when there were in possession of the ball. It reminds me of their team in 2002 in their philosophy but with a bit less magicians up front this time.
  3. I disagree. On the left he's much more effective, he can be lethal in all kind of situations while on the right it's not the same, he can be dangerous too there but in a more limited kind of scenario. The game against West Ham is not a good example, Ok he did damages on the right but Him and Mata were playing deeper than usual, they were playing very close too each other starting their actions 40 meters away from the goal because west Ham were sitting deep and not pressing, they were attacking their line of midfield, passing the ball to move their midfield and create a lot of space for other players and themselves.
  4. You took the wrong angle. Every things you've said is why we should try to have Cavani. As he's forward that is used and good to set-up other players in good position, has amazing work-rate, good holding play and good header. He's the most complete forward, exactly why we should try to have him as he adds to the team he plays much more than goals.
  5. What you've said is true but was at his worst with Di Matteo. The team had no offensive game plan under him and after 10 matches were very poor defensively. And you are right about Hazard under Di Matteo, like the others, I think they had no clue about what the offensive game plan was. I've seen matches of Mata last year, and he was crowded easily and had often only square passes as options. Di Matteo is one of the luckiest manager of all time with the champion's league run. But With Benitez, I thought that Hazard has improved a lot on his movements, what to do coming deeper, at least there was a game plan, some patterns he could rely to know what the others would do and could use his biggest asset that is to draw defenders to some places to leave space behind or on the other side of the pitch for other player's run, or very good shooting opportunities. And inside the box, I've seen that now he was ready to follow an error of goalkeeping, things he was not doing before. And that's why I was hoping that he would have leave Lille earlier, the slow tempo with so many passes between the defenders, the midfielders Mavuba Balmont not able to do quick passes, half his matches there, he seemed bored on the pitch. Gervinho who was not able to give a pass when he was running, giving a pass 5% of the time when there was a run from behind because he was blind. The first half of the matches was often ultra boring with either midfield battle with no one keeping possession or 50 passes between the central defenders. To keep on the topic, I'm not a fan of Mikel because I think we could have a better player. He lacks some pace on the first meters and what you talk of tricking the opponent, there are tricks to fool opponents that he also lack or quicker turn, ball behind stance leg to go the other side that slow midfielders master to have the opponent on the wrong foot.
  6. Maybe he can play the Kalou role with better all-around game.
  7. But for one night stand with beauties, it must help a lot if you have an average look.
  8. He had one great season with Ozil setting up great play for him and for the dribbling, look at the stats of the best dribblers, many are from the Bundesliga because many games are very open and have a lot of space to dribble at speed. And for the pre-season, he was fitter than all the others because he started training two weeks earlier than everyone else.
  9. For Remy I'm not sure it's just mental problems. I have this opinion since he played at Nice. He has very good qualities like his pace and heading but has also big weaknesses, bad technic when running with the ball that leads to not release the ball on obvious passing lanes. I don't know, but comparing the three just because of basic things like quick proper release from the back (ok at Lille with Garcia it never happened lol never mind), it's a bit too much. Between Di Matteo and Benitez, for me there was a big change. Ok it was not perfect but there was an idea on how to attack, some patterns during the matches with some adjustements to the opponent defense. And I admit I'm a little biased by the fact that I follow Hazard to see how things evolve and I was glad that he had at least a proper coach as I feel his previous coach skipped too many basics things and was not working on some of his flaws. I agree that too many coaches can mess the players but it's just that I don't really like the comparison between the coaches. For me if Mikel didn't feature that much with Benitez, it's because he was not capable of doing a Ramires (btw i agree with you on one player and it's him) job by helping the fullback and winger, on the left there was often a problem there, even with the fact the winger was coming deeper with Benitez due to the fact the defensive midfielder didn't do the job asked in this system. Helping in possession of the ball and pressing, trapping with the full back, winger on top channeling the opponent to the trapzone ready to counter attack when the ball was won.
  10. I see him more in a hybrid right winger second forward.
  11. I don't see the brilliance of the post. Too vague and basicly Mourinho is the best, all the other coachs suck more or less. He can have good analysis but on player analysis, I'm not sure I'd trust Seb. For example his first post on Loïc Remy one or two years ago, there are many things that were wrong and was overselling him badly. Loïc Remy technical ability are average at best and is mostly a counter-attack forward that needs lots of space. I don't know but for me with his opinion on Mikel, Moses, Remy, it's like he sees football only one way and forgets some subtleties of the game. And to compare Di Matteo, Benitez and Hiddink because of some basic stuff but forgetting all the differences, It's despicable.
  12. I disagree, a nightmare when he has space but against team that are very tight at the back, Cavani would offer much more.
  13. Many players in Bundesliga in this classement. I think it's because the teams attack with lots of people and leave gaps for counter-attack.
  14. From the matches I've seen of him, when he roams in midfield, he often does nothing great. For me he's a forward with good shooting range and pace. If he would be less selfish, he could set-up players around him in good position by using the fact that he draws defender to him. He lacks very good close control, quick change of direction and using the fact he draws defenders to make space for other.
  15. ------------------------------------------------Cech------------------------------- ----Azpi---------------------Ivanovic-------------Luiz-------------Cole--------- ----------------------------------------De Rossi---------------------------------- --------------------Ramires---------------------------Oscar-------------------- ---------Mata---------------------------------------------------Hazard---------- -------------------------------------Cavani--------------------------------------- In the beginning of the season. In the near future, KDB is in Ramires place. Luke Shaw the next year in place of Cole. Mata I could see him gone after next year.
  16. 4-3-3 Mata Right Winger. Oscar or Ramires with Azpilicueta on the right back is good cover on the defensive side. Schürle could play there when we are playing more counter-attack with his pace. 4-3-3 for me would be the best formation for the majority of our squad. Oscar and KDB would be the two most advanced midfielders, perhaps not in the beginning but after a period of special tactical training I could see KDB in this spot. We have Ramires and Lampard who are also better in a three man midfield. We only need a big signing for the defensive midfield, we have Romeu Mikel, Ake as squad rotation option. For me 4-3-3 would offer more options and flexibility, The two more advanced positions of the midfield three can have many game options depending on the opponent in additon to the left and right wing. With the 4-2-3-1, there are less option i think.
  17. Maybe not next year but after working on the positionnal sense, I could see Oscar and KDB the two more advanced players in a 3 man midfield. Oscar would not need much work with his background in Brazil and the way he played in the olympics. KDB It would just be a matter of calming him down a little bit, being more effective in defense with less running by being in a better position in the beginning.
  18. I'm not sure he plays better for Belgium than Bremen but in Belgium there are physical players that can profit from his crosses (exceptionnal quality he has). I'm not convinced by our national coach, he's lucky to have Courtois who have saved us quite often and Hazard Debruyne to create things in attack. The choice of witsel Fellaini Chadli in the three man midfield is horrible as they are quite slow and no players to set-up the other players, they are not good at keeping the flow of a game. And I won't talk of the shape of the team in defense, like Wilmots has not moved from his days in Bundesliga where there were no great postional sense and individual marking all over the pitch was the norm.
  19. On the Chelseatransfergossip twitter, this quote has no source. Look at it no guardian in bracket at the end of the quote.
  20. The most hilarious transfer is Navas for me, there were no other team interested in him on the range of fee they are paying for him, they overpaid. And Navas is a one trick pony, he has no left foot, it's just that he's an old school winger but I'm not sure he has the pace to be very effective in England.
  21. But there's no source for this quote on Chelstransfer"gossip". I've read the original article where he was asked about Mourinho, there were no mention of 50-60 goals a season like Messi, Ronaldo. I say it's bullshit.
  22. Bullshit news from his agent I guess, I could see Monaco spending this much with their transfers so far with Jorge Mendes clients and players with co-ownership like Falcao that seems quite common in Portugal and Spain. At least I hope so as I'm not a fan of Hulk.
  23. I could buy that he said that he should score more but the bit about Ronaldo and Messi and their 50-60 goals seems messy to me and an other "lost in translation" news like his transfer saga.
  24. To give an example, replacing Götze if you're a good player would not be the most difficult job in the Dortmund System.
  25. Inter had a great system, Sneijder did a good job but for me not worth the huge praise he had. Some good players could have done a good job as well on this team. Xavi Iniesta for example, there are very few players who could do what they have done.
