Spain should have have two penalties. But it's good for Chelsea that he comes back.
-
I've been watching since the 68 minutes and I'm still wondering how Spain didn't score. So many great chances missed.

Can't wait till Oscar and Mata will arrive. Mata Oscar Hazard, so much flair. We will have so many free-kicks around the box and they can't put two men on all three of them

Post Oscar: who to come?who to go?

A destroyer that is quite good on the ball is Etienne Capoue. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C3%89tienne_Capoue Too bad Newcastle buyed cabaye last year. Capoue Cabaye as two defensive midfielder would be great. Otherwise, in fantasy league, I would pick Azpilicueta, Capoue and Cavani. -
And he can do better. On the occasion when he tried some very sharp turn at high speed, he was slipping a bit to put the power down immediately on this hard ground.
-
I'm wondering if he should do specific work with athletic coach or Rugby coach to teach him agility. He seems to me to have very heavy foot, his change of direction is so slow.

what I would like if we buy Cavani and Azpilicueta. ----------Azpi----------------------------Ivanovic-------------?-------------------------Cole---------------- ------------------------------Ramires-----------------------?---------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------Oscar---------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------Mata----------------------------------------------------Hazard---------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------Cavani------------------------------------------------------------------ Full backs that can take the space ant take on the fullbacks of the other team. Oscar Mata Hazard exchanging their positions, Oscar being the one dictating the tempo of the game. When he comes deeper, Ramires can come forward, if the opposite team player is following oscar, Ramires driving in the space could be great. Cavani for me would be a great forward as he's a hard working player, he can link-up quite well and is a great header of the ball.

I disagree. Look at all the goal he scored. 90% of them were like the one he scored against Seattle. The opponent out of position after losing the ball, lots of space between the line of defence and goal and he outruns his opponent. He's awful in linking up with other players, doesn't make runs to open space for others and stretch the defense, and his turn ability is bad. When he was 16, you could be excited about him but his game hasn't evolved since then. Him and Kakuta have not the same style of play but they seem to lack a lot of football intelligence as their game is as raw as it was when they started.

The better would be in the upfront position of a trio in midfield. ----------Azpi(or another one who can drive)--------------not decided on the cb------------------------------Cole------------------ -----------------------------------------Ramires-------------------Not decided yet------------------------------------------ -------------------------------------------------------Oscar------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ --------------------------Mata-----------------------------------------------------------Hazard---------------------------------------------- -----------------------------------------------------Torres. Oscar Mata and Hazard exchanging positions, alternating between a link-up position and driving in lanes that opens. When Oscar comes deeper, Ramires can come forward. Lots of movement. It will not click immediately as he will take some time but when it will, we will see many world class actions.

About Marin, don't forget that he arrived three weeks earlier that the other players and is probably in much better shape. And about Hazard, like I said he's more an Iniesta like player. He's a player that likes to link up a lot and that also opens space for others to drive and it takes more time for it's game to click as there must be great understanding between the players. I think he will like to play with players like Mata, Oscar who moves a lot and likes to link-up and with Torres that make good runs and Marin as well. He had a great understanding with Gervinho at Lilles that was great in his off the ball movement and was setting him up very often to assist or to score. One thing I don't like about youtube and the videos of Hazard, it's that too many times they puts dribbling thing of a mach while there were better things to see like setting up other, opening driving lanes for others.

Mata at right Oscar center Hazard left can work in a narrow three behind the striker, interchanging the position but to work, it need two deeper midfielders who are used to work in dominant possession style and full backs that run in the space when one the three come inside. We could have that with Cole and Azpilicueta if the comes. The problem for me is still the deeper midfield. It's a huge change of way of playing that those in the squad would need to do this year.
-
You're right but you are missing the lukaku factor. He's very bad at linking up with other midfielders. He stays way too much in the middle waiting, and his runs are mostly straight forward to the goal. He doesn't mess with the defenders with fake direction of running, moving to give space to other players. One another thing is that sometimes, there are too many players sitting in the box. It would be better if there is run towards in the box but when it does'nt come, they replace back to move the ball to move the ball or being there to make deviations to a player running in some space if the defenders move with them.

It's a mystake to compare him to Messi. He's more an Iniesta like player. Yes he scored many goals last year especially in the second half of the year but for me he was better in the first half when the team was dictating play and he was playing more in midfield but Lille lacked firepower in front. In the second half, Lille was playing more in counter and as they lacked firepower, they decided to use him more upfront and use his pace in counter-attacks. Like Iniesta he can score and give assists but in what he's very good is to let other players in great position to assist and givin space to them while he fix some players. BTW I don't rate Lukaku highly. I don't like his lack of movements and inability to link up with midfielders. His only asset is his run towards goald when he defensive line is high and not coordinated. He's too predictable in what he does.
-
My bad. The two are linked, Azpilicueta seemingly the closer to come. But that was just to illustrate what I would like to see and where we would be lacking to be a great team. I really think we lack two very good, great midfielders if we want to play a possession dominant style.
-
I think the season after this one will be the season when the club will have a squad suited to the new style they want. Don't get me wrong, Lampard is and was a good midfielder but he played his best in a advanced role in the pitch. I remember when England played with a two midfield of Lampard and Gerrard some years ago and it was awful. In their clubs, they were very good but they had great midfielder behind them, Alonso Mascherano for Gerrard, and Makelele and Essien ( in top form). I really think that to succeed the club will need two great midfielders that can control the game and covers. -----------Azpilicueta-------------not decided on the two central defenders-------------------------------Cole (then next big thing) ------------------------------------------needs two midfielders --------------------------------------------Oscar---------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------Mata---------------------------------------------------------Hazard -------------------------------------Cavani-------------------------------------------------------------------------

A great signing if true.

I'm with you on this one. I think it will take quite a lot of time to have chemistry in the team. The back fourn the holding midfield doesn't to be on the same page when it comes to playing style with the creative players that Chelsea will have. A DM, RB and Striker must be bought if the change of playing style to be succesfull. Lukaku is not good and like with Belgium, it's often like playing with 10 men when he's on the field as he seems incapable of linking up with any midfielders. Torres Sturridge is not enough for a whole season. I've read that Cavani was linked to the club and I think he would be a good option as he moves quite a lot and would create spaces for the midfielders, he can also keep the ball and would link up quite well and he is a great header.

I'm a fan of the beautiful game and my saddest moment was the 2002 world cup and the Sweden Argentina. I was mad after the match, never seen a match with so many chances created that was deflected by all the body parts that you could think of in the penalty box. I will follow Chelsea to see Eden Hazard and how it will evolve. I think some have a misconception of his style of play with how some compare him to Messi. He is more a Iniesta type like De Vissers said two three years ago. And BTW I don't rate that much Lukaku.
