I think those de ligt rumours are stillborn one of those fabricated to grab the headlines. No way we will bist our wage structure and pay that kind of money to get an overrated defender, unproven in top leagues who does not even fit the needed profile perfectly. if we really want to continue with 3atb, the central defenders have to provide attacking impetus. So they should be technical and comfortable with the ball at their feet. Mdl is ok at that at best

Tuchel is a similar story that is probably why they get along so well. tt was respected but not liked at all his previous stations. He was sacked in paris mostly for personal reasons as well. He has changed over the years to be as personable and likeable as he is today. This is the first club he is really loved by the fans which is why he has stayed loyal to us despite the huge turmoil. In Germany TT is still regarded as an arrogant football professor without ppl skills. We, Chelsea, are also a club who is not liked particularly by neutrals as well, are probably the perfect place for him.

Obviously the Dembele deal is not done yet and PSG will be huge competition esp witht that French connection but my gut says we will get him. tbf Rio also won the league as starting cb aged 35 But overall for me, Terry, Vidic and van Dijk are all better than Rio. Would probably be the best advertisement for a maintained Union. And would also make I can actually imagine that to happen some time tho. All parties have a huge interest in this. Celtic and Gers in it for the cash, the PL can a more expanisve, british product. Also a two tier PL system with all the big clubs gives more big games and less annoying thug sides, higher quality of football, even more commercial potential. In the end no super leauge would be needed, cos the big PL clubs would make up most of that anyway.

Good point. Yet buying for the sake of buying players for positions in need even when a candidate of the required quality is not available is what brought us all those useless players. It just feels like we are marching into that trap again and everybody knows it except for who is making the decisions at the club. So frustrating.
