  1. The shirt and the music are meh but the trashy look fits the retro school vibe of the video. The making off probably was a lot of fun, the palyers looked like they really enjoyed themselves. TT looks cool af towering over everybody in his airmax. All in all one of the better promotion videos for a below average shirt.
  2. True, even though there is a good chance TT would have resurrected him, not the best example. Yet you know there is quite a list of decent CBs that switched clubs in the last few windows while we were twiddling thumbs waiting for AC and Toni to run their contracts down.
  3. If BAyern really are willing to go as high as 75m+add ons, which is way out of their lowball comfort zone, they will go all the way in matching our offers. so no chance here. Odds on them are dramatically slahed to 8/11 while we are trailing at 3/1. Still an outside chance if we maybe offer 100m but that would be plain stupid. Shame but we only have ourselves to blame. Tons of good CBS switched clubs last season. This is where we should have acted FFS. Konate or Varane would have fitted us nicely and not cost a bomb. Now we will be feeding of scraps. Honestly, go for N'dicka. Only 22, left footed on the same level as ake but in contrast has huge upside. Also would be dirt cheap as his contract runs out next year. Absolute no brainer but Todd probably never heard of him.
  4. that wage cost on Sterling is disgusting but I guess that is what you need to pay.Esp when signing from City. He better repay that with titles. There seems to be in inverse rleationship between wages and performance for our attackers of late. Let's hope Sterling breaks that pattern. He is a special player, probably one of the best dribblers and 1vs1 players in the league, can score, assist, create goals on his own. If he can replicate his performance level of the last few years he will be our best attacker instantly. And would also a huge coup to get such a player from the champions.
  5. yeah would agree Can, dahoud, guerrerio, schulz, meunier are bundesliga average players. They might still sign david raum who has been a revelation last season. I could imagine they will pursue a 3atb system which will free up Guerrerio to play his best position, on the right they have plenty of options and they might not need a classic DM and in that system. could as well play bellingham and özcan in the middle.
  6. BVB will be pushing for the title next season. Best chance in years if Lee leaves and Bayern defence already shaky . I am pretty sure BVB will still fk it up somehow mid season but at least they don’t have the excuse of not having the players
  7. I was not even gushing, just stating the fact but I will take the bait. Jesus is a proven goalscorer in the PL with respectable overall technical quality who has impacted various big matches. Broja has only shown glimpses of promise so far, so I definitely would say Jesus is the far superior player atm and does improve Arsenal. I would also say that jesus would have improved us but i can see why we did not go for him. Vieira i have no idea about, his stats are pretty shite. In this moment, I do not see how our squad overall is vastly superior to Arsenal's. Saliba is a big talent, i agree. would not mind having him here rn. Arsenal's best piece of business was getting rid of Guendouzi tho. Instantly takes their squad up a level not having that useless freerider around dragging everyone down. Took his ugly ass mullet long enough to vanish on the horizon. Absolute excuse of a footballer.
  8. I see your point and also would not bear Sarr playing for us again but IMO AC is a lot better than Ake still. AC is at least an average-level PL CB. Without his nerve issues definitely above average. He has plenty of experience at the top level. Ake is just a level below. He is the 5th choice CB at City AT BEST. Pep rather plays Fernandinho, Rodri, Walker or Zinchenko as CB than Ake, that should tell you something. Ake was not even Bournemouth's best defender when he was there. The plan was probably to buy Ake to partner MDL as LCB. They are also both dutch so maybe that would help. But this obsession with left footed LCBs is just ridiculous. I remember how Louis van Gaal, who was the first to come around with that idea, insisted on playing his only left footed CB, Badstuber (who was just a terrible player, not as bad as Ake but still painfully slow and weak in the tackle) in the CL final 2010. He got roasted all night and Bayern lost 2-0 vs Mourinho's (albeit quality) grandpa side. Ake has no such heroic story. How could he, only played CL 9 times. But he played an important role in relegating Bournemouth in 2020. Btw Ake is over a year older than Christensen, who has been mostly a bench option for us, yet has played significantly fewer minutes at top level. That's because Ake's place is not the bench. It's the stands.
  9. You are right, esp if we shed out 50m for Ake we are settling for mediocrity. Might very well be that is the plan of the new owners like with Arsenal's (who have got a few signings in already tho). As long as we stay in the PL the cash will roll in. I would have no problem with mediocrity if it is just to bleed in our academy graduates, those who are Chels through and through, have them grow and gradually take responsibility for the team. I rather get midtable finish but build a solid foundation with defenders out of cobham, maybe try broja up front, Gallagher in a 3 man midfield, than scrape a 4th place finish with dregs like Ake (which he still would not deliver).
  10. Selling colwill bc of Ake would be so braindead in other words probably exactly what will happen could as well sell Gallagher and bring back matic
  11. Sky sport Germany are pretty confident that Bayern will get him at some point esp bc of his Ajax mates who are already there and their persistent interest over the years. But 60m is their max. Question is if they talk him out of their move here so he can sit out his contract and join them later on the cheap.
  12. Getting MDL to reject us so they can lowball Juve would be perfectly in character for Bayern. On the other hand, if we are unable to sign quality then just leave it be FFS. Work with what we have. Surely some dude from the academy will be better than Sarr and over the hill azpi at CB.
  13. Yeah they should but Barcelona has not exactly been a masterclass in prudential entrepreneurship since they hit the crackpipe with all these 100m+ moves for ok-ish players in the late 2010s. They are hunting those glory days of the past by throwing money at the problem. Yes they reduce the cashflow they will receive in the future due to having forfeited a fraction of their TV money to investors.
  14. By selling their future income. They defer their financial problems for the future to appease the supporters with shiny new toys.
  15. tbf I think Bayern are too stingy to buy MDL outright. If Juve do not accept their cheap try with the Parvard swap, Bayern are priced out. Still, we might very well fuck up that move anyway.
  16. Yup thank God. This chalice has luckily passed us by. But now Ake is our new Kounde. From bad to worse.
  17. So thing is Bayern have quite a good relationship with MDL agent who also brokered their raids on Ajax. if the player really prefers Bayern we are done here
  18. If true, Bayern just want to inflate the price . No way they are seriously interested
  19. Ofc he didn't https://www.transfermarkt.de/cristiano-ronaldo/elfmetertore/spieler/8198 https://www.transfermarkt.de/bruno-fernandes/elfmetertore/spieler/240306 Penaldo did whenever he played.
  20. I first thought this would be a some kind of deep fake mix with Kyle Walkers face lol Seriously, this is just the angle, pose and lighting of the photo. He will still looks skinny in person.
  21. the problem is you can not just put Ronaldo on the bench for games he is not suited to. he will moan, sulk, throw a fit, try to attract all the headlines and derail the team spirit. Because he is an sick egomaniac. Always was. this is a team sport, no one should be put on a pedestal this much. Teams put up with it bc he delivered goals. But now, he is not good enough anymore. We would just become a worse team trying to play to his waning strengths. as a consequence we would just regress as a team, depend on his goals and be left hungover when he leaves in a few months.
  22. Also the waythey handled that cash injection was just plain stupid. They sell off a fraction of their TV rights, which means less cashflow in the future. Then instead of investing in theclubs infrastrcuture and future, they spend it on player around or after their peak years to replace of which they already got a ton blocking their youngsters , as you said, who will now run down their contracts. All ofr a bit of short term success which is far from guaranteed given there are still huge holes in their team.
  23. Gnabry will stay at Bayern but Sterling will come here I think realistic window given the intensity of rumours will be strakosha/slonini sterling de ligt/skriniar Ake (🤮) Clauss probably barkley, hakim to be sold, Kepa , sarr and some others will be loaned out
  24. We did not lose them tho cos we never really had them. Dembele always wanted to stay there, even after being humiliated with huge pay cut. Same goes for Raphinha, he always wanted Barca even if he had to stay at Leeds for one more year. We never were an option for either. Still sucks but let's not get depressed over sth this ridiculous. Also I am totally fine with only loading off Ziyech and getting Sterling in who is the best out of the 3 anyway.
  25. Yeah he rejected an offer for double that amount from Barca in January pissing off xavi in the process and one from us when he always wanted to stay. That’s how you fuck up your leverage. Barca completely looked through his bluff
