  1. Good. We might not be the primary destination for the brightest attacking talent but hopefully young players have taken notice that defenders and defensive midfielders excel at this club. AT would fit us like a glove and might well become a worthy Kante successor.
  2. Loan my ass lol Why on earth should we loan him. 50m at least which they won’t have Barca at current level is a massive step down for glass man tho
  3. Kinda odd being called up this late during a int window. But in this case it might even help his career gaining more pedigree and confidence. Really hope he can eventually shine for us. Lads got smth special.
  4. I do no really care too much but I don’t see where the club has done anything wrong concerning Pulisic. It is not the club’s fault, Pulisic misses half our games due to injury. Don’t remember him complaining. Neither should he. No one is bigger than the club. surley this means you will be gone with Pulisic then I would guess from this. will be interesting to see ifthe fans we supposedly lost then go on to support Genoa or whatever tinpot club currently would be interested. Can only be a step down wherever he goes.
  5. I read that his kit sales are roughly in the same bracket as his wages somewhere but we all know that merch alone is not gonna cut it. Short term it is advertising that should be the main Cashflow source but the club has done a terrible job of exploiting his immense marketing potential. Whenever he is injured he should be flown around the US selling some random yank trumpery from whatever corp gives us most money for it. Instead we still cling on hopes that he eventually fulfills his potential here. He will never do so in such a physical league. He Ian a cash cow waiting to be milked and the club rather explore ways to do so sooner than later even if that means running his contract down. Exploited correctly he could well bring in more cash than the meager fee we gonna get for him anyway mid term he has put Chelsea on a map for almost every American sports fan. Liverpool manure and arse used to be bigger across the Atlantic now we are pretty much as popular. Whenever i see snippets of a us network broadcasting one of our matches they have a huge event with thousands of fans waving our flag kn the middle of the night in the rain, cheering us on. Puli is a marketing gem. He himself is profiting massively from his popularity and it could be expected that the desire to see him play will e your broadcasters to pay more for our matches. Not sure this is laid out to the club or the PL centrally markets our games internationally but at least we should profit somewhere in terms of ads and tv money long term, with the main face of us soccer of a generation inseparably connected to us instead of an other pl club is huge. Dads will tell their kids of how the first American to win the biggest prize in world club football did so with Chelsea. If we continue to stay relevant over there we will have a foot in the door of every kid who starts to get interested in football for ages even long after Pulisics retirement
  6. Patson Daka looked the same yet the jury is still out on him. RBS and Austrian league is the best place to make a striker look classy. Adeyemi however has proven his value in the national team. But he basically has no competition. Flick sees him as the long time no 1 Germany striker but i can still see him struggle to adapt to PL. he has got time on his side tho. Probably will be a success but not here
  7. No way he will be sold anytime soon. He is free lunch. a squad player that basically pays his wages in marketing revenues earned and expanding our US market share long term. Priceless commercial asset. Him not complaining about lack of minutes due to being out of contention for 50% of games he can hardly complain about lack of game time.
  8. Wow maybe they bring iniesta who is one year younger back from Japan as well. Ibrahimovic might also be one for the future now Messi is gone lol
  9. True. It is not as if Barkley would keep them up single handedly. They basically have the same player in Jonjo shelvey. Formerly hyped up English ex international with half decent technique but sketchy discipline record and 0 consistency all career.
  10. Barkley lol… you gotta give TT he does have humour. Trotting out Barkley just to troll a bit. But Burnley is his level so might as well put one of his villa performances in here
  11. I agree Ziyech is doing a just about adequate job for an attacker no. 6 and a 30m signing. It is probably more down to the constellation of a multiple factors he get so much shit. The hype he received due to his exploits at Ajax, him beign so much older than the rest of our attackers bar Rom, plus his ponderous playing style where he takes ages on the ball to curl in his passes and takes so many shots. He is just extremely frustrating to watch. But at least he does try those shots and in general is different in playing style than our other attackers. So i don't mind the job he is doing as a last resort option, i just wish he was a bit less frustrating, quicker and more efficient at it.
  12. I think it always depends on the situation. In games like today where there is not a lo of flexibility in positioning and fluidity possible due to the opposition parking the bus, Roms power can create more space then Havertz falling over after very other touch. Then again, Rom would never have played that pass to CHO. Against Villa or enit, we probably would not have won without Lukaku. On the other hand we were like playing with 10men, no pressing, no movement with lukaku vs City. I think it just depends on the situation, TT has to pick the team accordingly.
  13. Grimaldo has to be one of the worst fullbacks in the CL. Same, Gnabry and Conan are taking turns burning him for pace. Got about alonsos pace but half his size
  14. Barkley to come on just for trolling
  15. RLC is such a tank. Just needs more accuracy finally Cho
  16. We found the real Salah and still sold him. This club is not the right environment for slow starters to reach their full potential. Mane is a better shot, he was the same age as Raphinha is now when he moved to Liverpool. I take your word for it. Only followed Raphinha once he joined the PL and was impressed with his pace and shooting but didn't think the full package is significantly above average. I thought there are quite a few prospects at this level in the league thinking of Sarr, Jota, Greenwood, Martial, Barnes. I guess we will see but I doubt the club will ever go in for Raphinha. But what you mention, his ability to take a hit and carry on combined with his pace and technique is something that makes mane and salah (only outside the box lol) so devastating.
  17. Raphinha is an interesting player but not really the level we should be aspiring. We will never get even a fraction of his value back. The club was fully aware that this might very well be 200m down the drain but they desperately wanted to back TT to keep us on track to win more big titles. they thought Lukaku wold be the one to deliver them. Ironically we have looked our best this season without Lukaku and without a traditional no.9. the pressure to play Rom could well cost us points. Highly skilled defenders have usually rendered him ineffective in big games on int level as well as for Juve or ManUre. Lukaku can still be useful in certain situations but we have to believe in the gameplan we have had under TT before his arrival, especially in the big games.
  18. That must have been one of the most random thread bumps in the history of this forum lol
  19. lunchtime kick offs after int breaks are always terrible. The guy doing the PL schedule really wanted to fukc us over this season always giving us these terrible fixtures but so far it has backfired massively . Leicester have not really clicked yet and also will be missing a few key-players during the break. From our players quite a few might sit the int break out and be fit for leicester. Will be at least as challegnig as the brentofrd battle tho.
  20. Actually enjoyed TT's and Chillys prematch interviews. Esp how they confirmed again how important wing backs are and will be for our system. TT lever to improve our attacking output is rather pushing the wingbacks higher than switching to a back4 and have more attacking midfielders on the pitch. Part of the reason RJ scored 2 vs Newcastle was that he was instructed to go looking for scoring positions and also that Chilly who scored 4 games in a row got a much tighter marking, leaving more space for RJ. Hence, I doubt we are gonna see a back 4 anytime soon albeit I do not mind us being able to play multiple formations.
  21. Conte at Spurs is much easier to handle than at ManUre from a pure rational perspective but it does itch me a little bit that he would go to a rival despite how much he is still revered by Chelsea fans. Anyway, there is not much loyalty left in footy, esp from managers. cheers Nuno for beating City tho. Really weird why Levy is so trigger happy now after giving worse managers like Mou, Jol and Ramos years. Might be smth personal behind that as well.
