  1. That was just what needed before going to The Theatre of Depth. Leverkusen certainly gave us a good run around. Their goalie is just class. Good side, didn´t remember them playing such postive football for ages. Got to admit the Bundesliga really improved over the last two - three years. Good postive football by both sides. AVB has some ideas of his own how to play. And respect for the boy Torres. He gets hackled every day of the week and still plays the assists instead of going for goal. It´s Chelsea FC and not Torres United. He certainly knows that. Motm: Torres or Mata. Good game by Luiz, has to watch his defending a bit. Pleased with what i see at Chelsea at the moment.
  2. someone with a decent stream ? watching it on livescorehunter. stops all the time
  3. The debate about Mikel pulling his weight and being an important player on the pitch reminds me a bit of the situation with Makelele when he was at Real Madrid. Obviously Mikel is a different player compared to Claude, but the same way Real suffered when they sold Maka Chelsea would be in trouble if they sell Mikel. He isn´t an attacking midfielder anymore, the role he started at the beginning of his carreer. He plays on of the most overlooked parts in football. The DM-Role, it is not exciting but becoming more important than ever. Look at Arsenal: they have no one in midfield who stabilises the game like John Obi, and they get turned over in midfield with one good pass. That didn´t happened to often in Carlos first season with Mikel in front of our back four. He doesn´t hit the ball from one end to the other, but that is because he obviously isn´t asked to do that so far with no real wingers (up to this point, lets see how Mata is doing). Maybe his playing the simple ball, but then again a team needs someone like him. Players like Lampard wouldn´t have had such a good season like our double season if no one wouldn´t to the dirty work.
  4. Our manager is a young lad and just has his first run outs in the premier league with a team that isn´t known for making it easy on themselves or the supporters. It is not AVBs team and it is not what it used to be. Two games in, obviously a nervy start but still not the worst of starts. Have a look at Arsenal. I think AVB will gather a lot of experience of todays game and hopefully adjust the squad (drop Lampard e.g.)
  5. Finally we can put the Mata of getting a winger to bed.
  6. Nah mate, this sort of came out of the blue, i mean that there hasnt been publicity about ages long negogiations. spot on !
  7. I think United again have done some shrewd buisness. Since they already have a very good squad post-Scholes/VdS/Neville and soon Giggs they just needed to adjust. It will be between us and them, both losing points to City and Arsenal. Liverpool still not there..
  8. I think we should keep him. He is a very versatile player. AVB plans with him, i think. I know being used in pre-season doesn´t mean the world but AVB seems not to be the kind of guy jumping the gun and say "oh yeah, Zhirkov ? 13 million ? have him !" after playing him that much.
  9. I couldn´t watch the game. But I´d like to know how our defence dealt with Villas forwards. Can somebody sum it up ?
  10. doesn´t make it any better. i am surprised that the club waited so long in defending their player. but i am glad that they did it at last. @FulhamBroadway: I think you are seeing things a little black/white here. I don´t want to get into the whole history of the middle east conflict here (not enough space and time) but why should malaysians worry about israel and the palestines. they have nothing to do with that whole story. and i think it is also dangerous of talking about "israel sticking claws". it is not that easy. are you sort of defending the fans of booing Yossi ? it is a racist act by them, simple as that. can´t be justified.
  11. you can see that AVB definitly has some different ideas. obviously needs time, but a huge step forward if he can drill it into the team.
  12. Ah cool. How long is it ago we spoke ? 2 years ago ? I am fine, how are you ? glad that there is at least some footie on
  13. Hello BluesChick ! (You meant me, didn´t you ?)
  14. somebody with a decent stream ? on mine there is a big grey box in middle.
  15. what exactly is his job in this position ? i have no idea about these different sections
  16. Legend. Always loved Belletti. Loyal servant to the Club in his days.
  17. Can´t really get a good end product here, England. Nice ideas, fast playing and confident pressing, but no real threat. Smalling and Cleverly will be massive in a few years time, Sinclair shows what he is capable of. A shame he could never show that at Chelsea. Bertrand looks solid though.
  18. Respect the man. Went to all the funerals after Hillsborough and that. Must have done something with him. Seems to go the right direction with Liverpool, which is obviously the wrong direction being a Chelsea supporter. Not playing in Europe might be a blessing in disguise for Liverpool.
