  1. Gotta love the guy. Mario and Tevez are totally Punk Rock. Like teenagers trying out boundries and pushing Mancini to his limits like a helpless teacher. I love Balotelli, I think what he does is just showing that the players are just Human Beings with all their faults and wicked sides.
  2. Josh´s physical appearance isn´t the strongest and i honestly think that he might struggle against physical sides like Everton. He´s got amazing skills and is a cool headed player but i think that he has to be given a couple of years time to develop himself and getting stronger. He will break through, he´s to good to go somewhere unnoticed. But right now it is a very big task to get into this Chelsea side with all these amazingly skillfull and strong midfielders. He is just 18. I think we are not in a rush here to promote him to first team action
  3. Torres was fantastic, went for Romeu though because he really deserves respect for what he did last night. Composure, work rate, vision. Everything. One can see that he went to the Barca school of defending. As AVB pointed out in his postmatch interview, he faces the goal all the time, receives the ball from Cech or centre halfs then turns and urges the midfieldplayers going forward and then playing the pass. Hopefully he´ll stay with us for a long time and that this boy won´t become another "lost son" -case like Fabregas.
  4. i don´t think he is a great tactican either. i think manu played best with that guy Queiroz or something as his assistant manager. after that they just played the most obvious and simplistic football, almost like Clough. But it backfires at them time and again, see Barca 2009, Munich 2010 at the Big Cup. Again, this weekend, playing for a draw, leaving all their best attackers on the bench when they´ve easily could´ve pushed for the win, realising that Liverpool are also crowding the midfield. most of the times they´ve just been extremely lucky. remember that season that OG was their 2nd highest scorer. they´ve been let off the hook by ref´s, collapsing teams, scrappy goals (macheda vs the villa) and so on and so forth. one could also call this winning mentality, or play to the whistle and so on and so forth. that is for what one has to give them credit for: no doubt about winning the game, or not losing it, to say the least. i´ve got loads of respect for that guy, but still, i hate united.
  5. would be a huge blow for Rami and the whole team. He really embedded himself into the team this season. He had a fantastic run so far; making great runs, always causing teams trouble when he makes his run into the box. As someone posted before, there always happens something when he is going forward. Really one of my favourite players.
  6. I think Joe didn´t really see his future here with Chelsea, playing wise. He didn´t really got his favoured position behind the strikers, and we didn´t play with wide wingers that time. Liverpool, as i said, was his One Off decision. As for any other player who goes there.
  7. as this slightley biased commentator said, the everton goal takes off the gloss for chelsea. but i think this was a good game by the boys. no need to sweat it. Good display by most of the team. Drogba wasn´t that sharp today. Mata is a genius. Unbevelieveable solid and effective passing by him. Another man of the match performance by him. This guy is gonna be a Chelsea legend.
  8. we better beat them today. liverpool and united took points of each other. (what a shit game. Rio is defniatly finished, thank goodness for that). I think that Everton can´t cope with our more enthusiastic and pacey style of late. Fucking hate Everton, dirty cheats.
  9. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2011/oct/14/joe-cole-lille-england good read. i am kinda glad that it seems to work out for him again. I always had respect for the boy. The move to Liverpool obviously is more than a "one off". But i always loved him in Chelsea Blue, even though it was sometimes frustrating. But i think he´s a good lad.
  10. same here, mate. it is harsh on Bolton, but they deserve no better the way they are playing. It had to be Sturridge, hasn´t it ?
  11. attacking/creating midfielder my sunday league team. I am shit at defending and my shot could be better and more acurate but i play some good passes
  12. Gotta test their goalie with loads of crosses and long range shots. More than likely that he spills them. Tough match but we won´t be swept aside like they did agaist all the other teams. We are much stronger than Arsenal and certainly Bolton. Cech Bos - Luiz - Terry - Cole Ramires - Mereiles - Lamps Sturridge - Torres - Mata for me. Ivanovic is always in trouble against their wingers. Bos might out-pace them.
  13. That was just what needed before going to The Theatre of Depth. Leverkusen certainly gave us a good run around. Their goalie is just class. Good side, didn´t remember them playing such postive football for ages. Got to admit the Bundesliga really improved over the last two - three years. Good postive football by both sides. AVB has some ideas of his own how to play. And respect for the boy Torres. He gets hackled every day of the week and still plays the assists instead of going for goal. It´s Chelsea FC and not Torres United. He certainly knows that. Motm: Torres or Mata. Good game by Luiz, has to watch his defending a bit. Pleased with what i see at Chelsea at the moment.
  14. someone with a decent stream ? watching it on livescorehunter. stops all the time
  15. The debate about Mikel pulling his weight and being an important player on the pitch reminds me a bit of the situation with Makelele when he was at Real Madrid. Obviously Mikel is a different player compared to Claude, but the same way Real suffered when they sold Maka Chelsea would be in trouble if they sell Mikel. He isn´t an attacking midfielder anymore, the role he started at the beginning of his carreer. He plays on of the most overlooked parts in football. The DM-Role, it is not exciting but becoming more important than ever. Look at Arsenal: they have no one in midfield who stabilises the game like John Obi, and they get turned over in midfield with one good pass. That didn´t happened to often in Carlos first season with Mikel in front of our back four. He doesn´t hit the ball from one end to the other, but that is because he obviously isn´t asked to do that so far with no real wingers (up to this point, lets see how Mata is doing). Maybe his playing the simple ball, but then again a team needs someone like him. Players like Lampard wouldn´t have had such a good season like our double season if no one wouldn´t to the dirty work.
  16. Our manager is a young lad and just has his first run outs in the premier league with a team that isn´t known for making it easy on themselves or the supporters. It is not AVBs team and it is not what it used to be. Two games in, obviously a nervy start but still not the worst of starts. Have a look at Arsenal. I think AVB will gather a lot of experience of todays game and hopefully adjust the squad (drop Lampard e.g.)
  17. Finally we can put the Mata of getting a winger to bed.
  18. Nah mate, this sort of came out of the blue, i mean that there hasnt been publicity about ages long negogiations. spot on !
  19. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PBgRd12vzv4&feature=share this young boy is spot on
  20. I think United again have done some shrewd buisness. Since they already have a very good squad post-Scholes/VdS/Neville and soon Giggs they just needed to adjust. It will be between us and them, both losing points to City and Arsenal. Liverpool still not there..
  21. I am not sure if there is already a thread about Fantasy Footie, if so just delete this one. Discuss all your transfers and your teams in here ! I am playing FF on the Citizen Sports Facebook app. If anybody runs a league there, post it in here also. I make a start: does it make sense to get Ramires or would you go for some other midfielder in the 8-10 million pound region ?
  22. I think we should keep him. He is a very versatile player. AVB plans with him, i think. I know being used in pre-season doesn´t mean the world but AVB seems not to be the kind of guy jumping the gun and say "oh yeah, Zhirkov ? 13 million ? have him !" after playing him that much.
