The irony of it all being that Hazard and Hulk are the players that Villas-Boas needed so badly.

Who´s the Mancini that City has released ?

I see what you are getting at. But honestly think that it is impossible to defend the Champions Leage. There is a reason to that. If you look at the recent CL seasons, no team came acutally close to defend the title, even if a team reached a few finals (Lolapool, ManUnited), Barca being the exception for being an exceptional team. The teams who play CLfootball always improve and lots of them aren´t able to keep up with the pace of how the football develops. Inter is a good example for that. There are so many reasons why it is almost impossible. Even if a team came close, they always have been fairly beaten.

If England against all the odds doesn´t do that well in the Euros all the missing players will get the stick, i.e. Lampard for picking an injury on purpose, or something like that.

Because he was injured. When he was fit and playing he had really good games. The stats will show that.

Somehow I think there is something wrong with this particular deal. I am not sure about the price tag to start with, and buying players out of their buy-out clauses might put a lot of pressure on them. I liked the Cahill, Mata and Marin deals - relatively low profile and reasonable money spent. I will be more than happy though to see some quality players at the Bridge, but I am not sure if really have to dish out 60 million on TWO players...

I don´t think it will work quite as well as with Barcelona. If Pep comes, he should try something new, something like a blend of the Barcelona style and the physicality of recent Chelsea sides. Given that he quit Barca to regain some sort of relaxation and to have a break from an intense postion, i don´t really see this happening, given the recent past of Chelsea´s way to go on with managers. I don´t think it will happen. Having said all that, I think a decesion is already been made as there no romours around who might get the job. I personally like RDM and Eddie to stay, because they knew how to achieve something with the squad they´ve had and certainly know how to achieve something with the players that are added to the current squad.

Exciting to have him on board, but being brutally honest here, i´d rather have a manager confirmed before big names being signed. Obviously these deals can´t wait and there needs to be quick actions, but there is something that makes me think to be a little bit careful. As stated above, the board better has a good and complete plan for the imminent future in the drawer, otherwise we have big name players and a club without any guidance. It is really annoying that we don´t have all the informations But having said all that, it is great news that the brightest talent in Europe signed for us and snubbed the Manchester outfits. That indeed indicates an exciting future.

One of my favourite Drogba goals is the third against Valencia. We all know he can blast ´em into the net or even takes on the goalkeeper and shots him into the net as well ( see Gomes, two years ago). The finish against Valencia on the other hand was a demonstration of his elegance, which has to be said about his game as well. I just love that little dink there, sends the goalie the wrong way and just passes it so casualy into the net. His pen against Neuer...that looked rather casual as well.

There is no doubt about his legacy and his heroics for Chelsea Football Club. But it is time to plan for the future. We surely can´t relay on him for much longer. His injuries will just getting worse. The question is if he accepts a role like Carragher. I think that he still has more to offer than Owngoal "Jamie" Carragher, but we seriously need to make sure that our new centreback-duo is the one that plays a lot more. Luiz and Cahill to me looks like Terry and Carvalho-potential.

Since the second leg of the Napoli tie our name was on the cup, if you ask me. Teams need a lot of luck to win this competition. Look at the previous years (maybe apart from last year), every team had it´s fair share of luck to win it in the end. I am happy to admit that we had our fair share because it proves that what goes around comes around, or less spiritual and more exact: The team did their part and the split seconds that lose you games (Barcas and Bayerns finishing, the goalpost not moving...) didn´t happen to us. We did everything to prevent it from happening. But as we all know, football isn´t down to just the game itself; it has it´s irregularities that are beyond control.

Exactly. No need to go shopping for merely back up players when we have a bench full of young guns.

Had a good first season, when he was allowed to go more forward. Scored some crackers as well. Defensively not as good after his long injury. Nonetheless, a loyal servant to the club. His performances as Centreback against Barca was staggering. Unbelieveable, in fact. Did well against Bayerns "magic wings" i thought. Whish him the best for the future. Will never forget his sexual monobrow.

When I watched that match in the shittiest pub and Drogba put away that pen, i just kept on babbleing and jibbering "King Didier, King Didier". The Club has to think about to give him a very special recognition. If we should move to Battersea naming a stand after him or building a statue would be just about right.

Terry doing it again. Kneeing someone in the back. Disgraceful.

Now it is his time to play some fucking good football.
