Well aside from reading the crap article i read his review with Germany vs Netherlands and he is spot on with Germans taking advantage of the transitional space. The midfield trio of Sami Khedira, Bastian Schweinsteiger and Mesut Özil operated very well on the said space specially Bastian playing as the box-to-box midfielder controlling the space with his ball distribution, creativeness and destroying the Dutch build up, partnered with Sami Khedira as the true holding midfielder. A manager with a year contract is unsettling for Players and could work differently in terms of managing because you have then essentially handicapped him from working with a fair and firm hand especially with the "top" players on the squad who can then literally hold him to ransom and this will also be bad for the Youth with all the aspiration to play for first team but with a "dead man walking manager" this will not push through with all the top players breathing on his neck. Other than that, there is no Manager in EPL who is on a one year contract not SAF, not Wenger, not Brendan Rodgers, not Uncle Arry, nor Paul Lambert, none! Lampard is our current best option as deep lying play-maker and during our UCL campaign he embraced it and was very effective. If he truly embraced his new role and to forget scoring from late runs (im sure he will get his goals from penalties) he will be more effective and he will surely prolong his career. Meireles and Josh would be enough to rotate him when needed.

It was complete tactical disaster for DB and well played tactics for Italy. For the last games Spain has been playing narrow (since Switzerland) to the point Spain were content to play in front of Italy which is using 3-5-2 formation where no width players helping to stretch the Italian defense. Despite the fact they often worked the ball into a position between the lines, the next pass was never available, as no-one was making a vertical run from behind. Many of Spain’s attempts were blocked, as they shot without trying to get past the Italian back three. So came in Navas who gave width but still no movement from the other forwards because most of the time Fabregas plays deep and inconsistent with his forward runs. So came in Torres who very well played the offside trap of Italy but not enough time to fully take advantage of defenders weakness with their offside traps. Torres was predictable with his moves and used the same attacking movement he used against Victor Valdes and Paddy Kenny of QPR. a clever Buffon read the play well and narrowed Torres angles, made him move towards his right and the GK kept standing and was able to tackle him off the ball. You have to give credits to Buffon for his outstanding play. As far as the story goes looks like Torres will be still be in a Chelsea uniform and we Chelsea supporters have no choice but to support our players. Hopefully he will prove us wrong and be instrumental to our winning campaign next season.
