Congrats @Spike Spiegel

He is a great talent but i don't believe the rumours tbh.... Hopefully something more solid comes along but until then i won't get my hopes up.
-
If i was as simple as whoever doesn't start up top vs swansea starts vs stoke, then onbviously play torres vs swansea as ba is suited to playing stoke... But we don't know if that will be the case, so it would be nice for ba to further enforce his position at no.1.

lol, Tell me about it, every photo i have off us with the fa cup and champions league trophy as a team has the trophy whore in the centre of it...

I have always been vocal whatever the result in wanting to give lampard a new contract. And QPR game was hardly all on lampard, i think everyone went missing that game. I am not debating whether we should from a purely business like point of view pay lampard 150k a week. I am simply stating that i would love to see him given a contract so much that if he was to be given that it wouldn't bother me. I would just want him to stay, It is the wrong attitude from a business standpoint but i have an undying sense of loyalty to lampard because in my eyes he is the greatest and always will be so would just love him to stay.
-
LEGEND! PLEASE GIVE HIM A CONTRACT!
-
Loved what he said about the pens thing and lampy... Demba should have a great future here...
-
How do you justify giving torres more than 8 mil a year? I know who i would rather pay it too. And does he look like a 34 year old... He has supreme fitness levels as we have seen this season with him sprinting back faster than david luiz in the last minute of a game... Ideally we shouldn't pay either of them 150k for obvious reasons, but it wouldn't bother me at all if he was getting paid that, as to have him stay here would be worth it for me.
-
If the club want to pay him that, then he has earned it, we have more expensive people doing a hell of a lot less for the club. 150k is extreme, but if we sign him i will not really be too bothered about his wages. In my eyes he is super frankie, and exceptions can be made... And in reply to inevitable responses: yes the club is more important than 1 player, but that 1 player is pretty darn special and if you got rid of someone like torres on his wage bill you would get your money back and we have thrown considerably more money on people who gives/has given this club far far less...

Extremely happy about our signing... He didn't have to score today to prove that he can work here, as after a shaky 25 (for the whole team) we got into it, he linked up well with mata hazard moses. Was very rarely wandering down the wing and when he did he whipped in a great low cross. Instead whenever we got the ball wide he ran to the space and dragged defenders with him and was in and around the box. He made his prescense felt and gives us another player with a arial prescense instead of just ivan terry and cahill. Was in the right place at the right time for the first goal which was probably going in anyway but better to be safe to sorry and it is good he was right on it. But the second one was EXACTLY WHAT WE WERE MISSING. It wasn't that special with someone doing 4 players, cutting back chipping it up for an overhead, it was just a simple situation where he made a run, there was a precision pass from hazard and he calmly slotted it into the goal. Exactly what we need from a striker. He also seems like a big team player genuinely happy for his new team mates to score and has a good work rate. He will still his bad games to go along with the good ones as all players do. But for 7 mil, i don't think you could want much more. And, importanly he looks super cool in blue and gold.
-
I hear he is pretty good at them
-
And selfish my arse!
-
I would love it to be true and for us to give him a new contract... Would be one of the greatest signings ever!
-
Demba Ba's first two Chelsea goals have come 7 months, 18 days and 23 hours quicker than Fernando Torres' first two.” So he doesn't like to hang around then...
-
I don't get to many away games but when i do they are always something special as we can drum up some support...
-
I wasn't saying he needed it for team morale and perhaps i should have been more exact rather than just saying etc, i was just saying i saw the argument for people wanting him to take it as it would be a great introduction to the team and which would assist in raising the team morale. He seems like a great guy and doesn't have an incredibly high ego that needs to be satisfied. I don't even think he even expected or asked for the pen which shows a lot about him and it seems like a great thing... Especially with his team persona, celebrating with everyone etc, and i agree i think he would be extremely happy for lampard to reach that achievement.
-
I can see both sides. But some people are extremely on one side or the other. For me, i maybe would have given it to demba ba to get his debut hat trick team morale etc, but if reports are to be believed and lampard is out of the door he needs to take his oppertunities to get his goals. And i would live to see lampy break the record more so than a demba ba hat-tricjk which also would have been an extremely secial thing on debut. There is also the fact that he is our taker and one of the best if not the best from the spot. Also there was still 10 mins left in the game... All in all, i think that it doesn't matter. Demba ba had a MOTM winning game, the world and his wife saw that, lamps scored and took the pen as is his right to do so and we go marching on... Be happy people...
-
He was too busy being mobbed by our players... I liked the gestures he made to our fans though... He was also celebrating with the others for every goal we scored which was great to see.. I am sure hazard is a big fan of his now, as he can pass it into space and demba will run onto it.
-
Now we have seen what he can do, i am sure we will all be chanting his name if we need a goal from somewhere and he is on the bench. I would say he has done enough in one game to be given a run in the side. Torres will have to make an impact of the bench if he wants to win his starting place back.
-
MOTM, Quite a few contenders, moses was very good, mata was slow to start but was exceptional, especially early on in the second half, but for me i have to go with demba ba; he was pressing and showed a lot of intent, was in the right positions scored a great goal for his second, kept going, unlucky not to score 3 and helped out defensively with some great clearences, all when he has only been with us for a day.
-
Great game, a shaky first 25 mins but then we sarted playing... Thouroghly impressed by Ba unlucky not to get his hat-trick, great performance by all and a great result with lampy cominf off the bench to score... Great reaction after the QPR match.
-
GET IN THERE... GREAT GAME, GREAT DEBUT FROM BA! AND LAMPY SCORED!
-
I think we are safe mate...
-
Come on lads, lets get another one, or two...
