Yeah mate i 100% agree, i think i made the mistake of posting that under this thread as it made me seem like i didn't want jovetic which i obviously do. But i was talking in general about our need for a finisher and not the need for someone. who like to play wide or prefers to play just in behind etc. We have a greater need for a finisher than someone else who offers a greater variety (However if they can do both then that is by no means a bad thing). As i said earlier my one worry specific to jovetic would be the fact he is used to playing behind a second striker, however as you rightly point out that doesn't mean he cannot play alone and i would have him in this team in a heartbeat.

I think its because he plays more off of a striker as opposed to upfront alone, and being as he would be the focul point of the attack that is maybe why some are a bit aprenhensive of him... But he is a great finisher and that is exactly what we need. Also helps he is 6ft to give us some sort of a target up top even if he is no where near drogba like. I think people are simply saying that what we have been missing is someone who can finish, so its not that they want an average player, but someone who is emmense at finishing as we don't want them to play in behind the striker or perhaps move wide we want someone who is a striker and can finish of the chances our 3 young creative talents can create.

Yeah i have no problem with him individually as a player, i was just saying in general i want a out and out striker and not someone who can do this this and this aswell. Compared to torres most people are an upgrade right now, i still think there are players we would be more suited too but its not like i would be against it. Put him up front for us now and i think we are sitting at the top of the prem loving life...

I think lampards experience is very useful but the issue is fitting him into this system. We all saw the lampard and mikel partnership did not work close to what the rambo mikel partnership did. Lamps playing off the striker is also something i am not too sure about, in the sense i would rather someone like mata or oscar be in there. But that is where i would put him. He still has the legs and can cover the ground, also could be pretty useful with his shooting considering torres is likely to be misfiring as always. IDEA: LAMPS UPFRONT. As always though i will never complain if lampy is in our team, as long as it doesn't result in Rambo on the RW again.

I like it, i would probably go with: --------------------CECH------------------------- AZPI ------BRAN-------CAHILL--------COLE -------------RAMI-------------MIKEL------------- --------------------OSCAR------------------------- MATA------------MOSES--------------HAZARD Simply because he had played striker (all be it a long time ago) and is a bit more if a target man for cech especially from GK's etc as otherwise he will be booting it up to hazard which seems a bit pointless. Also we could chuck danny on and put moses back on the right.. Of course alternatively we could just start danny up top.

I know Juve has a lot of talented players and the striker department is one that needs strengthening, but tbh, saying "the bold bit" is an understatement. He hasn't been clicking for 3 years. I would 100% swap him for vuninic right now.... Or quaglierela (can't spell it lol).

I have to agree with the first bit. We need pure striking class. We don't want a bloke who can do this or do that if needed. I want a player who is a striker, whose whole purpose in life is scoring. However signing joevitic wouldn't be stupid....

Defensive 4-3-3 without mikel? I don't like that tbh. No torres up front looks good but the rest i am not too sure on.

He isn't the best keeper in the world... I think if you look man for man we have the better team but we are lacking a striker and that is obviously one of the most important positions. It will obviously be a tough game and we should in no way play for a draw. But if we go for the win i believe we can win, but i would take the draw right now as that is all we need.
