    I honestly don't think that rafa coming will negatively effect him. He is pure quality and rafa must know that.

    Exactly... I don't understand the reasoning for wanting us to fail so he does.... RDM WON THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE AND FA CUP, ffs, if Rafa wins the league cup and club world cup, and pep says he wants to come back to management roman will drop him faster than a speeding bullet. He is also only named as an interim manager and its not like he has been given a 5 year deal. Wanting the whole club to fail because you don't like the interim manager is absolute LUNACY!

    Of course, and that is the correct attitide, for many however they wouldn't care if he won us 3 trophies this year they would still forever hate him...

    Well tbh, he doesn't hate our club, he was the manager of liverpool, so obviously sided with them, he is not anymore. I still don't particularly like the man but it doesn't mean i have to hate everything he says or does... He is our manager, no amounts of complaints or twitter bombardments will ever change that so it is time to get behind the team and hope we can start performing well.

    He is actually slowly growing on me... LOL. As many people have said, he isnt the one who sacked RDM, he is our manager now and we have to accept it and try and keep our season alive and start very poistively vs man city.

    Exactly, this is the thing that is extremely important. If we as the fans stop singing in support of the team and start singing in hatred of the manager then that is definitely not a positive for the players, which after all is the most important thing. It also puts them in an awkward position which we strongly want to avoid. At the game supporting the team has to go first. You don't have to be a rocket scientist to work out that we all are not particularly big fans of rafa so really chanting about benitez isn't gonna make people sit up and go "REALLY??? THEY DON'T LIKE RAFA????" Especially when we are playing against Man city which is obviously a huge game for us in the league.

    1000% agree with this. The effects it could have on the players is by far the most important thing. And we as fans should ensure we don't have a negative effect on the players...

    No where did i tell you that you had to respect him... And there is always a shit storm around us, and there is nothing we can do about it as that is the way the media has always been around us. I doubt anyone will be up there (me included) cheering for benitez, but i will fully support the team no matter what.

    Yeah i agree, however if you have a fuck off benitez chant for 5 mins in the middle of the game then it starts to become related, as we have to get behind the team during the game, and not be against our manager.

    This is gonna be one of the most anticiapated lineups of the season. All this can't be good for the team so avoiding defeat would be great here. You never know Torres Hatrick...

    I have no interst in changing your mind... I do not like benitez as well, but the fact of the matter is that he is our new chelsea manager, and nothing we do is gonna change that. He has shown disrespect for us as fans in the past with some of his comments and he is never gonna get a 10th of the respect that RDM has. However there is no good that can come from our team except unsettling it more from every chelsea fan showing its hatred towards its manager... It won't help anything, especailly with a new team that we are trying to build.

    He has only been our manager officially for about 15 hours, he needs time to earn our respect, if you don't give him any time then there is no way he will earn your respect.

    If he can make our defence a bit more solid and identify our best defence quickly hen his experience could prove to be very useful, especially since we have conceded like 23 goals in our last 11 games.

    Come on people... Wanting to Set up an AFC Chelsea team is a bit extreme. Abramovic cares most about wiinning and that becomes a point to his benefit and to his disadvantage. Rafa was offered the job and he has taken it. We all know by now that roman wants the club to succeed and Rafa will do his best for the club that pays him. He won't "love the club" like RDM does/did, but the decision has been made, and boycotting games and other such measures won't solve anything, especially at a time when the team needs support and things arn't all rosy.

    Well you would have thought they would have had someone lined up before hand otherwise sacking our manager just as we are starting a long stretch of games like 12 or something before january would be extremely stupid.

    They are totally different teams though tbf. I. E. Every Chelsea team for the last 8 years has been better than the teams he has managed so it is unfair to look purely on win percentage.

    After having 12 hours or so to reflect on things the main thing that annoys me is the treatment to Rdm who has been so good to us. Benitez is no one's favourite of course and certainly not mine, but he will do his best for this club and that is all we can ask. He may have said this that and the other, but it was a while ago and he was the manager of a rival club. Time to move on. Also it's not like he is here on a 5 year deal. Roman wants pep, but he has said he won't come back to management til next year... Chill people... Thanks to Rdm for what he has achieved with this club. Now rafa let's go beat city.
