Play our best team (within reason), so that is obviously demba ba and we should have enough... But as everyone is saying, based on what we seem to keep doing we shouldn't take anything for granted. Get the win, and make the gap bigger to the teams below us.

Yeah definitely... I even think ba and lukaku would be a great partnership... 3 would be better for possible injury problems but we have a hell of a lot of young talent out there.

When he was actually given playing time and some regular appearances, even if a lot were just off the bench...

He is on match of the day now... The more and more games he has the better he is looking... Look forward to him starting for us... I hope we don't recall him too early for him to just sit on the bench as he is starting to get a run of games in that side and is looking much better when you compare him to any previous appearances for us and pre season etc.

I have just had a fairly quick read back on this thread from before I was on here and I honestly cannot believe some of the comments towards lampy. But then I suppose the same can be said on other threads such as the torres thread, as all fans (in general) seem to either be at one extreme or the other with little in between.

What's up with the mass generalisation... All Chelsea fans I know personally have always wanted him to stay and it has nothing to do with him suddenly scoring goals as he has always been scoring goals for us. Having an overhaul, doesn't mean get rid of every player over 30. We had one of the oldest squads in the prem and we needed some younger talent which we have now... It doesn't have to be an either or kind of thing. And Lampard was paid that much money 4 years ago which was correct as he was one of the best players in the league and the best midfielder in the prem. I don't see what his previous contract has to do with anything... He has more than paid back his contract in everything he has done.

I get your point. But he can still be an extremely useful squad player if he is fine with being one... If he wants to play first team for a few more years then he may want to go elsewhere and my opinion of him will never ever change. But you may as well say how useful was anyone in the qpr game. I am always gonna want him to stay and i know I am not the most objective person over the whole situation. But for me, I would love him to stay more than any signing but it doesn't look like like it's gonna happen. :-\

Italy would probably suit his style a lot more, especially with the amount of older players and the systems that italian teams (i know i am generalising a lot here) would implement.

Why can't he help the team? It can't be a fitness thing as he is still one of the fittest out there, and there is no one in our team who i would want more to come on in the last 20 mins and make an impact... He can definitely help the team, with his experience and his talent that is without question. I.e. He was pretty useful vs everton i think...

I doubt it, we always buy someone towards the end of the window. Tbh i think there is a slight chance we sign falcao, but part of the deal is he stays there til the summer.
