Modric isn't a physical presence but he is supreme on the ball. And besides, all I am looking for is someone who can make the transition from defence to attack as simpleas as possible. Modric picks up the ball. Finds mata /hazard in an attacking position. No more mata having to drop 30 yards to get the ball because we are struggling to move the ball. Those 3 would be an amazing combo. I am seeing some of the most amazing triangles. This is a transfer I would love to happen. Up there with someone like cavani coming in. With the added bonus of it being a big fu to the Spurs fans. Imo, would be a great signing, just the player we need in the area we need to improve the most.

Yeah, i agree with you. If Jose wants them, then i am sure Roman can facilate that and provided the players are open to coming then it could happen. But i said it was unlikely because no one knows what Jose is thinking, so there is only a small chance he wants all those 4 players.

Us bringing in those 4 top quality players is definitely unlikely. Cavani will probably go to one of 3 clubs, that doesn't mean its us. There hasn't even been any speculation that we are even looking at De rossi. Di Maria and Coentrao are more likely to happen for obvious reasons. But just because we think they are great player who are probably available doesn't mean we are really looking at them let alone gonna get them.

Why though? Is he better than Lukaku? No not even close. Mourinho is one of the few managers i think who will realise this and act accordingly and wouldnt be afraid to bench him if needed.

As mentioned in the Lukaku thread, i think that if Lukaku is made the undisputed No 2. And we can get out of the torres shadow, then it wouldn't hamper his development. We have 60 game + season next year, and Lukaku would get a lot of sub appearances as well as starts when we rotate. No matter how good cavani is he wouldn't play every game. Provided Lukaku is given the no.2 role i don't see a problem. Though if he stays and we still have FT as a supersub, then it could be hampering his development.

We obviously wouldn't play 4-4-2. But i can defintitely see Lukaku coming on for 20 mins alongside him. We would be pretty stupid to switch to a 2 up top system.
