Think he'd be a great buy for January window. He'd improve our striker depth and I think he'd be good at it if played regularly. Young and wold grow up with Mazacar. I approve this move.

I would absolutely LOVE Jackson Martinez from Porto. Something about him just screams top-class striker
-
The CM depends on what happens to Josh and KDB. If they end up staying at cfc next season then I think a loan cm would be the best option for the future. Trouble is I can't think of that many quality CMs available for a loan move...

So the window is less than two months away and this being Chelsea, I think we can safely assume that there will be some activity. The question is, what positions need strengthening this early and who's likely to fit the bill. Also who, if anyone is heading for an exit... For me there are 2/3 main areas of need for this squad, notably a CM for the pivot, a CB and a new striker. Additions in any area would, I'm sure you'd all agree, strengthen this team a lot more than new attacking midfielders. With this is mind, I'm curious to see what movement we will all see, be it specific players, or movement in a specific position. I think the most likely scenario is a new striker (but not a superstar Cavani/Falcao etc) and either a new CM or a new CB. To clarify, that is what I think is likely, not necessarily what I would most like to see. If we take into consideration that we most likely will not spend a HUGE amount in January, I would love to see something along the lines of Etienne Capoue and Nelson Oliveira. Young and talented and would strengthen our squad. Thoughts and opinions anyone?

Chelsea in pole position for Guardiola

It's not remotely plastic. People want the best manager, Pep is by many accounts the best manager in the world. If he came and was successful then it's the direct opposite of being plastic. -

Chelsea in pole position for Guardiola

I love Pep Guardiola, it would just suck to see him replace Robbie. I think he'd be fantastic though -
According to whom?? The dream job part...
-
I'd love Deulofeu as well. I agree, chuck in offers left, right and centre!!!
-
Agreed but then Del Bosque's squad selection recently leaves a little to be desired... He's a fantastic talent, would absolutely love to see him here.
-
This would be SWEET though don't see any chance unless Pep replaces Robbie... I think he's fantastic
-
I don't really know much of him other than a few brief youtube clips but he's from Porto so that's usually a good sign.
-
Isnt Martinez the same age as Falcao?
-
Oh true, I'm just saying that I can't believe this is legit... Can you imagine the Atletico board meeting??? "So we are resigned to selling Radamel Falcao. Any suggestions as to who we could go for to replace him? What's that? Fernando Torres? Brilliant idea, I'll begin the paperwork..." I dont see it
-
Why on earth would Madrid want Torres though...?
-
Completely agree. I don't want to see him anywhere near the pitch...
-
Much preferred him to Torres. Direct and a threat.
-
I'm assuming CFC will get someone in January? Just occurred to me that RDM could be happy with the squad... hence playing Torres etc? ANy chance or is it pretty certain we'll recruit in Jan?
-
Cavani won't go in January but Falcao might. For that reason I don't see him being a cfc player ever
-
Just get ANY striker and dispatch FT9 as far from the Bridge as possible.
-
Really pleased about opportunity for Azpi and Sturridge. Give em hell Studge, we want you starting mate
-
Lewandowski would be a great shout actually. Dunno why but I like him. Falcao is still very much the holy grail though
-
Please Roman... Get rid of him. PLEASE

I feel obligated to raise a concern similar to Manuf's... The explanation is fantastic in theory, but as Manuf said, it's perfectly plausible that it's just poor attacking third movement and Torres is in essence just running about. You say that he makes the run to make space for Mata, but for me anyway, it's far more likely that Mata, with his fantastic football brain, sees the poor run and exploits the space. In which case, great, Torres freed up space, but can we honestly say he means to. The first picture for me is telling. Let's assume you're right, and that it's a false run. Wouldn't you rather have a striker attack that space and shoot...? Honestly? I would. I get the feeling that you put Falcao in that space, he's going to time his burst into space and put it away, not drift off towards the corner flag and hope that someone else times it well... My two cents. I for one don't buy it I'm afraid. But I respect your opinion. If he keeps doing the same then perhaps I'll come round to your explanation but until then...
