  1. His comebacks are great although this one could've been better. Something along the lines of "Hi, plastic head cunt, I'm Petr. Nice to meet you". That Liverpool fan named Matt has been an absolute disgrace though, constantly tweeting pictures of Cech's collision with Hunt and tagging Petr in those tweets.
  2. True, I've seen him play lots and I'd say he's actually more Oscar-ish
  3. I'm not too sure but I think this is how we played at the end of the Everton game? We started the game as a 4-3-3, although you could also name it a 4-2-3-1 with Fabregas playing as a 10, it looked more like a 4-3-3 to me: Courtois Ivanovic Cahill Terry Azpilicueta Ramires Matic Fabregas Willian Hazard Costa Later on in the game, in the 75th minute, Mikel comes on for Willian which I understand and is probably for more defensive stability. I think we still played a 4-3-3, with Ramires moving to the wing to have Mikel next to Matic, although it was difficult to see because the game was going from side to side and everyone was all over the pitch at times: Courtois Ivanovic Cahill Terry Azpilicueta Mikel Matic Fabregas Ramires Hazard Costa Then, in the 84th minute, Felipe Luis comes on for Hazard. I get the fact that we want to defend more and definitely not concede a fourth goal, but I thought it was a strange sub, although I can understand it because of the defending reasons. Hazard wasn't tracking back all the time (although he did sometimes). I guess we were then playing either a 4-3-3 with a left winger that wasn't really going forward or maybe a 4-4-2: Courtois Courtois Ivanovic Cahill Terry Azpilicueta Ivanovic Cahill Terry Azpilicueta Mikel Matic OR MAYBE Mikel Matic Fabregas Ramires Felipe Luis Fabregas Ramires Felipe Luis Costa Costa That 4-4-2 line-up looks a bit weird so we were probably playing the 4-3-3 one more but the 4-4-2 makes sense as soon as the 89th minute, 4 minutes later, when Drogba comes on. I think we played 4-4-2 for the last few minutes: Courtois Ivanovic Cahill Terry Azpilicueta Mikel Matic Ramires Felipe Luis Drogba Costa Am I missing something here or is that how you guys saw it as well? I was way to emotional during the game to really pay attention to everyone's position. If I'm correct, do you think we'll see more of the 4-4-2? Especially at the end to hold a lead? We'll definitely see more 4-3-3 as we all know Mourinho prefers to play that way in the bigger games with Ramires.
  4. Well here's some info: http://fantasytransfertips.blogspot.be/2013/04/english-premier-league-yellow-card.html Couldn't directly find this info on the FA site (should be on there though) but these rules are probably correct. So technically, this means (in the extreme) Costa could get 14 yellows without being suspended. 4 yellows by December 31st, another 5 by the second Sunday in April (putting him at 9, with no supplemental discipline), and another 5 before the end of the season. 14 yellows, no ban for any game. But at the rate he's going, he's going to have a lot more than just 4 yellows by december 31st. He might not make it till October
  5. Going to the Etihad 6 points clear would be amazing, but I can see City take the three points at the Emirates and we also shouldn't underestimate Swansea, they've got 9 out of 9 points so far and two clean sheets as well if I'm not mistaken.
  6. Valencia really can't cross to save his life!
  7. Hey give the guy a break. I don't post on here often as well, I had been lurking for over a year before I registered and since I registered have only made 150 posts. This is a great place to catch up on the latest and read various opinions on everything regarding Chelsea, but there's many weeks I check the forum 7 days out of 7 but don't post anything. Sometimes there's no need to, doesn't make the people who post less a 'freak'. And Barbara, I'm sure he didn't mean it as bad as you took it. You have been posting a lot about your boobs and running naked today and somebody might consider that attention seeking (I don't and even then wouldn't mind). Long story short, make peace not war, cut each other some slack, because Torres left and today is a great day!
  8. Hadn't thought about this yet. I hope the yellow, it looks great! Unlike the black one this year...
  9. In 15 (5) appearances. That's not too bad. Not saying we should go for him, but his goal scoring stat is impressive. 0.95 goals per 90 minutes in the serie A, apparently, if I can believe the stats I read online. 13 goals in 1230 minutes, that's even a better stat than Costa. Of course there's no arguing Costa's the better player, but Destro's goal scoring stat is impressive! http://www.squawka.com/news/how-mattia-destro-compares-to-chelseas-current-strikers/164959 EDIT: crap BenIsLegend beat me too it!
  10. If you become a True Blue member, you won't have to roll the dice. You don't need loyalty points for the Burnley game, so as a member you'd get first option to buy tickets. Welcome to Talkchelsea!
  11. I never mentioned Destro in my post. I just said the Falcao loan was way too expensive for my taste, horribly high loan price. A 20m deal is bad business. If you want to talk about Destro, I know him a little. Not well, but a little. I used to watch Roma a bit because of Nainggolan and Strootman. I like Strootman, and I follow Nainggolan because he's Belgian. I never considered Destro as a Chelsea striker before he was linked either. 0.95 goals per game without penalties sounds good indeed, I hadn't seen that stat. Where'd you get that from? I'd love to see it. However, there's some things to consider. First of all, Destro is A LOT cheaper than Falcao. He can be ours for 20m/25m pounds, unlike Falcao which would probably cost 60m/70m pounds. Second, Destro is 23years old, Falcao is 28. But most importantly, Falcao would never be content with a place on the bench (and neither would Costa) but Destro might be happy being second striker and getting the occasional game in CL group games or early FA cup and League cup games.
  12. This part: That's right, all of it. First of all, we wouldn't be paying 20m for the best pure striker in the world. No, we'd be paying for a loan and wouldn't own him. And he's not the best pure striker in the world. Top 5 definitely, top 3 most likely. But hasn't shown the same greatness after his injury (not saying he lost some of it but he could have but that's another discussion). Second, if you don't care about the clubs money and how they invest it on new players, because it doesn't affect you, you're not a fan. Of course it affects you, because you are a fan and you want the club to get the best players. If they'd just toss the money around, they'd have less money to spend and would maybe get that one crazy player but wouldn't be able to get a good overall balanced squad like we have now. We've had a great transfer window this summer and the club has done some excellent business and they've done so because they've invested wisely. 32m for Costa, selling Mata and Luiz for 40m and 50m, great! Getting rid of Torres and saving money that way: great! Getting rid of the high wages of Lampard and Cole, is great business even though I'll miss them (especially Lamps)! And Fabregas was great business as well. A 20million loan is not. It's terrible business. Even for a player as great as Falcao. And how would that work with Costa? We're a one striker team, you know? Chelsea has the money, but they don't have infinite money. You do know that, right? And FFP is something to keep in mind, altough I'm not allowed by you to mention it so I won't go into it. And last but not least, we wouldn't have the best strike force in the world. We'd have two great strikers, but would they play together? If you have two strikers of that caliber they should, but we'll probably still play with two (or in one striker team) three AM's. We'd have a great LW in Hazard but our 10 position or RW can still use some improvement. Nowhere near the strike force of Real Madrid or Bayern... I'm sorry I had to type it out for you, I thought you'd get it with just my one-liner but I'll try to be more clear next time.
  13. I'd make that Worst case scenario, our group would look like: -Chelsea -Dortmund/Juventus/PSG -Leverkusen/CSKA (Jose would NOT want a mid week trip to Moscow!) -Roma/AS Monaco I wouldn't underestimate the French sides, especially PSG.
  14. Anyone remembering this? http://metro.co.uk/2014/08/11/didier-drogba-faces-four-to-six-months-on-sidelines-after-suffering-ankle-injury-in-chelseas-friendly-against-ferencvaros-4828951/ I'm not saying he isn't injured, but I am saying that panic has a habit of spreading fast and so far we don't need to panic and just hope nothing's happened and if something has happened that it's not too bad.
  15. I had no idea what you lot were talking about (sorry I'm not from the UK) but have been reading up (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AFC_Wimbledon)%C2'> watching youtube clips for the past half an hour. It's a shame they lost the FA cup match. Had they won that they'd have all the ingredients for a hollywood story to make a film. Having lost to MK Dons they still lack a happy ending slash revenge kind of thing. Although promoting 5 times in 9 years isn't too bad
  16. In that case, I misunderstood your comment, and we think the same. My apologies
  17. Exactly! And him claiming we'll win just because we have better players is a 'white' view, so I countered it with a 'black' view (the Sunderland game). So what I'm saying is that football doesn't work that way (either the black or white) and it's the unpredictability that makes the game great. Personally I think Everton are a side not to underestimate, very strong opponents. I can see them finish top 5 again this year, with Man United below them and one of Spurs or Liverpool. I think it'll be a tight game, I'll probably be clenching my butt a lot but as long as we take the three points I'll be a very happy chap. I suppose a draw wouldn't be too bad but I'd love to see Chelsea take 3 points.
  18. I hope the players don't share that mentality of yours
  19. That's not how football works, at all. Or do you have another explanation for April 14th? Chelsea 1-2 Sunderland. At the bridge.
  20. Breaking news: Liverpool's training session was cancelled today. Apparently Mario Balotelli brought his Premier League medal in and they all took it in turns to hold it.
  21. What 2 goals and 2 assists are you talking about? You are still talking about Oscar right?
  22. I get what you're trying to say but it's not exactly like we were trying to face Rubin Kazan with our strongest XI
  23. I'd consider Barkley (if fit) and Coleman (apart from the obvious Howard) the key players in your team. Hence I don't understand your choice for Naismith. Care to enlighten us? I'll agree he's had two crackers of games and a great start this season, but I don't think he'll be consistent the entire season. He's a good player, don't get me wrong, but I wouldn't call him your most important player Btw, how do you like this Chelsea forum, as an Evertonian? Are we fair to you lads?
