Shouldn't that be two assists? The pass to Mata against West Ham and the shot today that hit the frame and played the ball to Mata as well?
-
Yes, but we're a one striker team, where as all the players you listed are from two striker teams. Rooney isn't even deepest striker (RVP is), and Balotelli and Dzeko are subs. Instead of comparing goals/matches, you should compare goals/minutes for Balotelli and especially Dzeko. Dzeko has one of the best goals/minutes this season.

An article in the Belgian press saying KDB won't be playing for Werder Bremen next season. He'd like to play for Chelsea, but if he's not up to the job yet, he won't come over to warm the bench but will play for another Premier League team, he says. http://www.sporza.be..._De_Bruyne_Bild Edit: It even says he has an agreement with Chelsea that says next year he'll play for an EPL team, if not Chelsea then he'll get a loan to an EPL team. Not sure how official this agreement is, article doesn't say. Could be in his contract, could also just be something that was said but not official...

Eden on today's game: http://www.chelseafc.com/news-article/article/3000862/title/hazard-deja-blue

Benteke is not even close to being a good enough striker for Chelsea
-
I thought he played well today. He was dangerous a couple of times, a shot was saved and a lob over the keeper unfortunatly went over the goal as well. Him and Moses, together with Cahill and possibly Mata were our best men on the pitch. Those two didn't deserve to be substituted.

You are right, I must've been an anonymous lurker on TC before then, I thought I already had an account back then... I was wrong.
-
I'm not one of them Belgian fanboys as some of you like to refer to the Hazard-worshippers (I've joined TC long before Hazard signed), I do like Hazard (although I still believe Mata to be better and deem Oscar more exciting) but anyway here's my 2 cents: I thought he played rather well today. Best of the 3 magicians today. IMO shouldn't have been subbed.

Come on people, no need to call our players cunts! They're doing pretty well! I still believe in our team in blue! We've had some great chances, and they only scored a lucky (though deserved) goal. There's 90 minutes to a game!

Where can I vote for Mark Clattenburg MOTM?

Fingers crossed, people! No use in directly expecting the worst!

This. But still, amazing first three EPL matches and man I'm hooked and love seeing him play in Chelsea Blue. I used to watch him from time to time but since he's playing for Chelsea I've watched all his games and man since he's been playing weeks are too long and I have to wait too long for matches to see him play... And Chelsea played mid-week as well

Eden Hazard scored his first Chelsea goal, at Stamford Bridge! :blue scalf:

Lukaku quotes on why he moved to the Baggies, and on his upcoming clash with Tottenham (and his ex-trainer AVB who he claims "didn't let him develop"): “Di Matteo had a big say,” said Lukaku. “He told me it was a warm club and that’s what I needed." “It’s good to be here among people who want to help you to perform." “Now it’s up to me to do well here and hopefully shine for this club.” Lukaku will face Villas-Boas, given a second chance to be a success in English football after a disastrous spell with Chelsea, when West Brom travel to White Hart Lane to play his new charges, Spurs. Villas-Boas was sacked after Chelsea lost at West Brom in March, Di Matteo taking over and giving Lukaku a belated chance in the Premier League after being used by Villas-Boas only as a substitute. When Chelsea won the European Cup last season, Lukaku refused to celebrate with the squad because he said he did not feel like a winner. His only Premier League start came in Chelsea’s final game of the season, under Di Matteo, but he is keen to play down tomorrow’s rematch with Villas-Boas. “This is West Bromwich Albion playing Tottenham, not me playing against Andre Villas-Boas,” he said. “I don’t really look at Andre Villas-Boas and wonder what he is thinking. “He is in a new job now and hopefully he can do well with that club, but we go there hoping to get a result this week. “We have to make profit from any negative points Tottenham have. I expect it to be a good game. “What happened last season was very much last season. I don’t think there is any player in the world who hasn’t had downs as well as ups. I want to show people that this club and myself are making progress and getting better.” West Brom were impressive on Clarke’s debut as manager, beating Liverpool 3-0 on Saturday, with Lukaku coming on as a 68th-minute substitute and scoring the third goal. “Saturday was one step but the next steps are coming up so I will have to keep my feet on the ground and we will see what comes,” added Lukaku. Kojo, no need to call anyone names. And yes, you said right there that he's proving you wrong. But still, you were overreacting. And I think what James is trying to say is that this: is an understatement of how wrong you were. Don't worry, no offense mate. I like debating football and there'd be no fun in a football debate if we all thought alike.

5? I thought 4? Correct me if I'm wrong, but aside from his 2 penalty-assists, and his assist to Ivanovic today and sunday, what other assist did he give? I don't remember who Cahill got the pass from today, and I don't think Hazard passed to Torres either... Or did he?
-
I love how he didn't go for personal glory when Chelsea scored the 4-2. He could've, the keeper was nowhere near the goal, just a defender in his way, he wasn't in a difficult angle. Yet he gave the assist. Gotta love the guy. Two matches in, 4 assists in.
-
He scored today. And he would've scored two if Ramires had not gone for personal glory (I'm talking about the chance before the opening goal). I think he played a good game today! Good, not great. He did a nice dribble as well, only to see his shot blocked... But the dribble was class!
-
I read he played a role in scoring the 0-1. A pity Werder lost though
-
He didn't chase after the ball that much, true, but then again this game he was playing deep and waiting for long balls or passes, especially on the counter. He needs to remain there in the deep attack.
-
Lukaku came in the game at the 67' mark. His first action was a great pirouette to turn around a Liverpool defender and go for goal with another striker and just one liverpool defender and the keeper left. Lukaku delivered a great pass that should've been an assist but somehow (I think it was Morrisson?) the WBA striker missed his shot. After that Lukaku scored a header from close to the goal. He later gave another pass that should've been another assist but again, WBA missed. He also had a little dribble that gave him a chance on goal with his left foot, but the shot was blocked and went off pitch for a corner. He also lost the ball on one occasion that I can remember. I'd say he played a very good 25 minutes! I'm not a big fan of him, but if he keeps playing like this he will win me over!

Courtois played 90 minutes with the national Belgian squad today, against the Netherlands. Although he conceded 2 goals, I believe he played a great game (Belgium won, 4-2, to Holland). You can watch the goals he conceded here: Courtois played 90 minutes with the national Belgian squad today, against the Netherlands. Courtois did some very nice saves!

About Lukaku, well he played a decent game tonight. Decent, not great. He scored against Holland, but let's be honest, 99% of that goal was just Dries Mertens' genious. Lukaku COULDN'T have missed that goal. About Lukaku, well he played a decent game tonight. Decent, not great. He scored against Holland, but let's be honest, 99% of that goal was just Dries Mertens' genious. Lukaku COULDN'T have missed that goal. Other than that, he had good positioning, showed speed, you could see he had no problems overpowering defenders (it was nice to see him play with his back to the goal) and he was eager to play. He only played the last 35 minutes or so, but played decent. He had an awful ball touch or three during the game, but of those three kept the ball in two occasions. I see improvement in his ball handling, although I still consider it weak. Then again I might be biased, I've never liked Lukaku when he was in the Belgian league because Anderlecht is our rival team. I must admit sometimes his ball handling was very nice, like that chest control slash pass to (I'm not sure) Witsel or KdB. He was also good in catching high passes or crosses just outside or even slightly inside the box. Not to bash you or anything but I thought the Sporza vids can only be viewed with a Belgian ISP number, so the abroad Chelsea fans can't see the goal? Not sure though because I have a Belgian ISP so it works for me.

He didn't play a good game today, he can do better. He got substituted just after half time (was it 50 minutes, 55? Not sure... I think 55mins after the 1-2.) Belgium played great after the sub. So not a great game for Eden. But as a Belgian who has seen him play many times before, I know he can do better. So I'm not one of the "he's hyped, he's not as good as everybody says"-guys. I know he's good. He just didn't show it at all today.
-
He played the second half of the game, and was decisive when Belgium scored the 4-2 with a great long distance pass in the run of our winger. He was also strong on the ball, had good passing and even better positioning (his positioning was excellent that time he headed on goal, too bad Van Stekelenburg is such a good goalie!) One of the stronger Belgians today, great game!
