From zero to hero. Majority of fans turned there back on him and he came up trumps today. Must of been low on confidence too. Saved our season imo and can delay the media speculation about Conte leaving for a while now.
-
That's the ruthless nature of our board unfortunately and I think he had a point. If he lost this game, think it could of been the end. The board are ruthless. But thanks god we won that game some how because we got away with murder. And Bats literally is a hero. Slated by so much fans and given a leap of faith and stepped up the way he did and imo saved our season and Conte's. Brilliant win. Could not of bear to think what would of happened if we lost.
-
The thing is he brushed up so much up on his physical aspect against Atletico and back to square one. Almost half-hearted.
-
I get Morata has just returned from injury but he needs to stop winging after any little challenge. This is the PL and he is going down too easily.
-
Well very unlikely because he will start the majority of their games and if he continues scoring, his place in the team will not be in jeopardy. Bony, currently injured as well.
-
It really isn't. These are games we need to win and under pressure. Bringing a player who just turned 17 not too long ago into a game like this is not ideal. You would rather him play like in the game against Forest when we were cruising and gave him minutes. Playing him now would be highly risky and something that Conte is not going to do. Even if Bakayoko and Luiz are injured I am 100% sure he will not be in the team. Same applies to Kyle Scott too. I reckon Alonso will start this game and then Kenedy will obviously come in for him in the cup game against Everton.

Van Aanholt and I will add Loftus-Cheek to be cheeky

His brother, Lamisha commented on the post and said "It's starting to look like they wouldn't know what they have if they had Ronaldo or Messi coming out of the academy. Smh". So that virtually confirms Charly is referring to us. Can understand his frustration but that is not going to help things. That being said, it will boil me over if we end up losing him because of lack of opportunity because the talent is clearly there and if he is able to fulfil his potential can be a top player. But he has a point, he will continue to be overlooked unless of injuries in the team due to the players ahead of him. He only has realistic chances of proving himself in the cup competitions. Hopefully Musonda makes an apology and the club are able to progress contract talks going forward and Musonda is given assurances of his future here because it will be frustrating to see a top talent leave due to lack of opportunity and then go to another rival and start playing.

Just way too defensive. Fatigue kicked in but no denying it from the first minute we did not really show much. What really disappointed me was seeing Azpi at RWB. Delph is not a LB and is clearly being used as an emergency replacement. Moses or Zappacosta should have started to pose him problems and no surprise, Delph had the game of the life because we had no one with the ability to run at him and Azpi played at RWB for the whole game. Just way too negative. We missed a trick there. The scoreline actually flatters us. Should have been a lot more. I just hope Morata is available after the international break.

I was only kidding with you Henrique
-
Was anyone else in for Sandro apart from us? I don't think so and because of the money we were prepared to offer both Juve and Sandro himself, it was realistic but did not happen. Mendy, City were after and could guarantee him starts at LB virtually every game and I think would have offered more to Mendy than we would. And I think Mendy was wanting to play under Pep.
-
I think he meant realistic options. Sandro was the only one who looked realistic and that never happened. Who knows what happens in summer but majority of names you mentioned are/were unrealistic.

WOW. Hazard was truly breathtaking tonight and the more I see Morata, he is impressing me more and more and think he is going to turn out a Chelsea legend. He has everything and caused Atletico tons of problems. If there was ever a game to show how lethal a partnership, Hazard and Morata are going to be, this was it. Over the moon. Before the game would have taken a draw, but after the game, considering how we outplayed them, a draw would have been unjust. We were the clear deserved winners. Bring on City!
-
And 2 of those games have been against United and Spurs where really he was starved off any chances because they were not able to create any real goalscoring opportunites for him, which is why I was annoyed to see him on the bench against Watford. They have a few fixtures upcoming where he will get more chances and I am sure he will get goals.
-
Some fans should feel ashamed of themselves with the abuse they give Cahill. I get he is not everyone's cup of tea and when people use constructive criticism of why they want him out but seeing the class of some fans who call one of our own names like 'cunt, donkey, spastic' and making videos taking the piss out of him is pathetic. Just look at what he has contributed for us in the time has been here. Won everything, contributed goals, put his body on line and you get fans treating him the way they do. Really sad.
-
Even though he had a bad game, he is definitely underrated instead of overrated. He never has really got the credit he deserves despite what he contributed for us last season. 7 goals. He normally is a solid performer who comes up with extraordinary with his long-range free kicks or in general just scoring goals. He has his flaws in terms of not being the fastest and sometimes being exposed one on one but he is hugely underrated. One game does a lot to change a lot of fickle minds. Morata was getting it himself after one glorified friendly against Arsenal. Alonso gets it today.
-
Trolling at its best. Because he is our no.1 striker and we have a packed schedule coming up where we need him leading the line and think the confidence issue and him needing goals is being exaggerated. He has scored 3 PL goals, assisted 2. Why does he need more confidence. One game against Arsenal where he was not bad does not mean he is low on confidence. He is doing fine.
-
I love that. A player who just wants to play. That goal meant everything to him. Very touching and he deserves it. Eats and sleeps football. Hopefully just the start of many for him and hopefully he gets his chances.

I am one of Cahill's biggest fans on here and spend majority of times defending him. I have backed him numerous times in this forum and will continue to do so and while a lot of what I said was done with a bit of tongue in cheek, I really feel he let Boga down and if it was not for his reckless challenge, he could have thrived that game but not sure if he will get that chance again. So I am just hoping Musonda's full debut goes better to plan than Boga's did. Nothing wrong with that mate.
-
Hopefully his full debut does not end the same way Boga's did after Cahill ruined it for him and you knew Boga was not going to get that chance again this season. Felt so sad for him. Hopefully Musonda shines tomorrow and if Cahill plays he can stay on the field and not ruin one of our youngster's day.

I know we were favourites and all that but watching MOTD2, you would think Arsenal won the game. So biased. Look, I get they were the happier side however the pundits mentioning their defence was brilliant when Morata caused them problems and they played a stupid high line that nearly caused Pedro to score but unfortunately we did not capitalize. They also had just under 10 mins to snatch a victory against 10 men and could not. If they had done that then yeah but wow it was a 0-0 game. They were not even that solid as people are making out. They played a more solid game than when we usually play them at the Bridge though. On our part, we could have done more. However a point is not the end of it all. Still 3 points behind the top 2 and both Liverpool and Spurs dropped points in games they should have won. Not too disappointed. Never thought it was going to be an easy game as some fans and pundits were making out.
-
What annoys me about this is that he almost seems to intentionally get sent off. He knew when he flew in like that, he was going to be sent off and being on a yellow just makes it three times more stupid. He was top quality before that happened and led by example and that could have easily cost of the game after he went off. Not like we were losing so why did he lose his head?
-
Luiz was a cut above our defenders today imo. What he brings to our team is so underestimated. Time will tell but City will tell a lot how much we can cope without him.
-
Luiz was the best player on the pitch bar that stupid red card incident. He has Lacazette in his back pocket and was just a beast on the pitch. Now he is out against City in that crucial game end of the month. Anyway, some may see as points lost. I am just glad we did not crumble after that red.
