I see your point, however we rarely or if ever, have integrated a player into the first team squad after a loan in the Championship. We usually will want them to get top flight experience. Hopefully he really sets the Championship alight. Should be exciting to see him at Derby. Predicted that Lampard and Morris would take advantage with out talents and get some on loan. Hopefully it is the perfect foil for both of us. Would be great to see him do well there and come back next season, however still sceptical about that.

I don't see how they can't afford it. They just sold Ronaldo for over £100m. Then there is the fact they are one of the biggest if not the biggest club in the world who make loads of revenue, then they also won the UCL. They must have money to spend upfront. It is not like that they have gone barking mad with signings past few seasons either. What is it exactly about their financial results that is deteriorating? Maybe there is something because they have not bought a 'galactico' for a few seasons now.
-
Yes, they have won the UCL however they are well off the pace in the league, which shows your true quality over a season.

A strange one. If we were going in for a top CB like Koulibaly then could understand, however Rugani was not even a regular in Juventus team and he isn't really a significant improvement on any of our CB currently at the club and none look any closer to leaving. Rudiger, Christensen, Luiz, Cahill, Zouma. 5 CB there and the money being reported is way too much for a player we don't need. Money should be spent elsewhere imo. And this season it looks like we are playing with 2 CB instead of 3 which confused me even more.

Belgium might not have reached the final, however Modric was not better than Hazard this tournament. Modric was very good, however Hazard was excellent in virtually every game. And whether it be a third play off or not, Belgium still played yesterday in again which Hazard was the best player on the pitch. Modric was not excellent in every game. Mbappe and Hazard were the best players. Well pretty obvious that Modric was given player of tournament because Mbappe got young player of tournament.

Congrats on winning the World Cup. Was really poor today though and looked quite lightweight and lost in the midfield. As brilliant as he is, I have noticed that he can struggle against strong, physical midfields. Anyway, congrats to him and Giroud.

Fully agree. When I see teams like United linked with £100m for DDG it is utter madness. Keepers will make good saves but they will always concede. They are not magicians. For instance if I was United and I got £90m or over for DDG, I would accept it straight away. Alisson might be a good keeper but he will be beaten. Paying over £50-60m for any keeper imo is just crazy. There are many very good keepers we can get, like you said for half that price. Although Liverpool need a new keeper I can fully understand why they opted out paying the £80m quoted for him. Ridiculous money.

He can but I am pretty sure, going into the season Sterling is a nailed on starter going into the season. Mahrez will be a rotation player, however they will all get a lot of games. For instance, with Sterling play in the WC, Sane and Mahrez may play first game but Sane and Sterling will be the favoured two. They are crucial to how Pep Plays. I don't see Mahrez scoring or assisting as much as Sterling did last season and that is because Sterling suits their intense attacking approach. On an individual player basis, Mahrez imo is better however as a team player, Sterling suits City. For example, imo Zaha is a lot better than Lingard, if you are comparing one on one basis, however as a team basis Lingard may work more. Sterling struggles for England for that exact reason. He is required to do more for England than City.

They are still a top team and we are prob the only team to have beaten them at their ground last season. Had he not put in that performance and we did not win that game, we could have easily been out the group stages. I see your point regarding, he does not have enough great performances in the UCL, however without making excuses, the team's approach to a lot of the big games are really negative. If we put more emphasis on front foot, would give him more of a platform to put on a great performance.
-
Yes, when we beat Atletico 2-1 at their turf last season. He was world class that game. Out of interest, when has Messi had a great performance in a big World Cup game or any World Cup game? I don't remember much if any. Does that then not make Messi the best player in the world?
-
Can't actually believe what I am seeing some people write on here. Hazard can improve, but we have a genuine top world class player on our team who has been a shining light in this World Cup. Like just truly baffled how after his performances in the last few games, people are actually trying to blame him. He was excellent against Brazil and was the only player who actually looked good against France. Hurts my eyes what I see people come out with sometimes, it genuinely does.
-
Higuain was not exactly inspiring last season. He scored only 15 goals from open play in 32 league starts from my working outs. Is he really much of an upgrade on Morata who scored around the same amount with less starts. Don't see him being the player he was before. He is 31 by the end of the year. Sceptical. Would rather keep Morata but doubt both of them will stay on board.
-
Hazard was very good yesterday. KDB and Lukaku were just so off the pace which made it look like a one man mission. Any person who watched that game properly would see that Hazard was one of the best players on the pitch. France only got the ball off him by fouling.
-
I predicted that a few weeks ago, as soon as Lamps and Morris were confirmed as manager and assistant manager. However, any fans expecting him to be part of the first team squad next season have another thing coming.
-
Mason Mount is a top talent but he will be on loan this season. Anyone expecting him to play for us next season is being unrealistic and having a bit of a pipe dream. Hopefully he can get a loan move to a team in a big league. Maybe Bundesliga but pretty sure he will go out on loan.
-
However, Coutinho had a lot of years left on his contract while Hazard does not.
-
He already stayed a season when we did not have UCL or Europa League. The real worry about Ronaldo going to Juve is now Real will be willing to spend a fortune on their no.1 target. Would not be surprised to see them go around £130m + for Hazard if they really want him. His performances at the WC won't help us much either.
-
TBH, he was the best DM in the league last season. He is a very good player who had a bad game.
-
It is easy to say take the money but he is a winger that will be a huge loss and people will only realise it until he is gone. There is a reason we are rejecting £50m for him and you have the best team in the world going in for him. He is very unappreciated because he does not score bucket loads of goals. I definitely don't want him going to United because Jose will get the best out of him. Sanchez, Willian will be Mourinho's dream. It was a huge amount to reject but it shows that the club value him highly and unless we are going to get a top winger, we will see how much of a loss he is.
-
Such a good player. If the reported fee is true, CSKA are quite stupid. Had he been playing for a club in Europe, the asking fee would be around £40-50M. If we could get him for around £25m, that is a bloody bargain. Is quite a complete player too. Brilliant passing, dribbling, balance and very much improving. If it is true Juventus pulled out and won't pay above £20m then silly on them because he is going to be a top player.
-
A shame really. This was the season where he should of been looking to be in our first team squad or go to another PL team on loan. He had a wasted year, last season. After January, not even sure he played a game which begs the question, why he was not recalled. He is a really talented player who looked a couple years ago, like your next big prospect. He still has time but he probably is going to full behind the peck. He certainly can make a career in the PL, prob just not with us now unfortunately. Hopefully he has a much improved loan-spell this season.
-
A strange one, but probably was helped by the fact that Adi Viveash is there who knows Sterling well form his time here working with the youth team. It is a little surprising however that Sterling has gone to a League 1 Club on loan while Reece James who plays more or less the same position has gone to a Championship team when I think Sterling is slightly the better player right now. Anyway, hopefully both players have successful loan spells. I am frustrated for Sterling as I believe he can play in the Championship. Defo has the physical attributes to play there and is very fast too.
-
In a space of a week, both James and Sterling are out on loan. This is why I say unless we are going to get a much better upgrade, I don't see why the hell we would loan him out or even sell for that matter. I actually think he is a player who Sarri would use quite a bit.
-
We invested a lot of money in for him. No point loaning him out with option to buy. He is not quality, but I don't mind him as a back up. He has had some decent matches for us. Looks more of a threat tbh when coming on as a sub as he is very direct. Regarding the two academy lads mentioned. We know the chances of that are nil. Sterling looks set to joining Viveash at Coventry this season. A bit annoyed at that as think he should be playing a level higher in the Championship.

http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11668/11410997/chelseas-davide-zappacosta-in-talks-with-inter-milan None of this loan with option to buy rubbish please. We either sell or make sure it is an obligation to buy for a set amount. I actually think he is a good squad player so if they aren't willing to buy him, then ideally we should keep him along. Would suit Sarri's style of play too.
