The amount of times I have gone on to these post match threads for the past few weeks and every time I think I have voted Mata as MOTM. Another masterclass performance, contributing goals and assists for fun recently. Also today showed me despite what people have to say about him, we have on of the best holding midfielders in the Prem in Mikel. He has been immense recently, one of our unsung heroes. I like the fact that when Mikel received all those racist abuse on twitter, RDM stuck by him and his performances have reflected that. Mata clearly star of today, but brilliant work all round from Mikel and Ramires as well who performed brilliantly. If Ramires improves on his shooting, I would say he is one of the best all round midfielders around

I dare Del Bosque to leave him out the national squad again. Mata will just do his talking on the pitch, marvelous performance. Spain's loss is our gain!

There no difference to us really when we have Oscar, Mata and Hazard. We both have 2 holding mids, then there is 1 being Dembele and Lampard/Ramires who will push further up the pitch. Their wingers are just more faster and direct than ours.

He may be getting ridiculous amount of wages but to say he has "unimpressed?" In a slow start for City this season, he has looked miles apart from everyone in their team and IMO has had a brilliant start. he has been a brilliant signing for City for the seasons they have had him and has been well worth the money. I think you must be getting confused with another player because Yaya is a fantastic all round player. I would love to have him here, even I doubt it will ever happen but he always performs on a consistent basis for City. I don't think there is a current better all round DM/CM than Yaya in world football as it stands

Doesnt mean Mikel should be thrown out to test him. Maybe in cup games but PL no because Mikel is a starter there and I think he does his role brilliantly. Hopefully Romeu can step up in his absence though

Apparently a clause in his contract allows him to leave for Barcelona next summer so he is being kept under wraps maybe so they are not convinced into taking him back. If true, quite a smart move then considering how impressive he was for us. Then after that clause is finished we can totally focus on developing him without the pressure of Barca trying to get him back

You sound like another supporter like that. I think many other fans of other teams realize how good of a player Mata is. That is poor statement to make if you only think it is Chelsea fans. Every club supporter knows Mata is talented and him missing out on the Spain squad is nothing to be ashamed of because his form recently has been nothing short of brilliant

When we beat Valencia 3-0 last season Mata was jointly with Drogba our best player on the night. Made 2 assists, with the last 1 a brilliant through ball for the Drog. He was man of the match for sure IMO with Drogba, absolutely bossed that game

Can't see Falcao going to Real anyway when they have 2 quality strikers in Benzema and Higuain. They are both very young as well and Real Madrid usually play with a lone striker so can't see him going there at all tbh

Not like they need AC for San Marino anyway. They can put out a reserve team and still score over 10 goals, literally. San Marino are that bad, it is more worth Hodgson trying out players who don't get chances there, whether that be Baines or Bertrand. At least we got a fully fit AC (if suspended) to deal with Lennon then:)
