Talking about TorontoChelsea, what happened to him? He has not been on here for ages. Was a very useful member. Shame he has not signed in for a long while now
-
Bruma is better than Hector. They are the same age btw. You watch Bruma more than me I guess but I like him. If you think he is not good enough for us at all maybe you have a point but I think he could do a role here.
-
Massive fan of Bruma's. Surely has improved now and is simlar to Stones. Very good on the ball and in fact probably better and quite dominant physically. I would be in support if we did ever try to buy him back. He is one of those defenders that I think, if he was at Everton he would be linked with the biggest club like Stones himself.

As much as he impressed me in the Copa America and I saw him in a game for Reading in their last game of the season against Derby in which they won 3-0, it is quite an odd move. I mean he has years ahead of him him but he is 23, playing in the championship and Reading's third choice CB. He started the first league game of the season and since then has not started a league game for them. This is what a Reading fan gave me on him: Seems like the club are definitely focusing on fast defenders who can use the ball. "Still quite raw. Improved a lot of the course of last season but is still prone to the odd mistake. Think of Chris Smalling 4 years ago without the injuries and slightly less talent.... He's also 23 so it's not like he's a teenager either. He's rated by pretty much all Reading fans but then our standard is a lot lower than Chelsea's. On his day he is brilliant (see FA Cup semi-final against Arsenal). He has potential (was quite a late bloomer) and is good on the ball but I can't see him ever being a regular in a team higher than mid-table."

Fuck me! He actually looks quite scary there. Looks like a caveman.

We are close to signing him for £4m. WOW. That was unexpected. Very good defender and impressed me for Jamaica and Reading but surprised at this. Nice to see another Jamaican but for those who want to know about his abilities. Has pace, strength, good in the air. Similar to Stones tbh.
-
He made the point about Willian failing to beat a man. Not shooting. Willian has got the second best take ons in the squad and I would love for someone to show his successful take ons in the league. Would not be the highest but I am sure he would be higher than a lot of players.
-
He is one of my favourite players and judging by people's 'likes', you would think he was a Tottenham player. Some fans...
-
He knows he has no future here and he will be sold eventually but by signing the new contract he gets a better pay day until we ship him off and us giving him a new contract will allow us to receive a higher bid for him.

Could of sworn that was Franco Di Santo at first.

10 people liking this post. Embarrassing

If it is £36m I don't think it is that much in this market for a player of his potential. If it is nearly £60m like some people say which I struggle to believe then that is too much but I guess we have to wait till he joins to find out the full details of the transfe.r

Well the price is a lot but when you think of the price for other talents who are older than him, like Stones for over £30m etc it is not that ludicrous. Like Skipper said, he is a lot like Henry when he was placing. Bundles of pace, excellent strength and balance, excellent dribbling ability and is very good out wide or up front. That being said I don't think he will improve them straight away but he has got loads of talent and potential. He completely ripped apart Arsenal last season and they could not handle his pace, power and dribbling ability. A lot of money but I would rather spend big money on a young attacker than a young defender. Time will tell but he has the potential to be a star player.

Last season was a bad season for a Everton and Lukaku in general, even though he got into double figures. The season before he scored bucket loads of goals and he nearly guided them to a 4th placed spot. They finished 5th. He will score goals galore this season imo. Everton would be worse without him over the whole season.
-
Yeah but my point is you can't use that hypothesis that playing for a team who finished 12th makes you a bad player. Mabe the other players round him were not that good. Austin is a very good striker who was one of the leading scorers in the PL and they finished last. Yet he is better than a lot of strikers in the PL, who even finished higher with their respective teams.
-
So Austin is not a good striker then?

Their FB are fine. Zabaleta and Sagna are two of the best RB in the league. People use to say Sagna was the best RB in the league when he was at Arsenal. So they are fine in that department. Sagna has been excellent this season. Kolarov for me too, is extremely underrated and one of the best LB around imo. He has worked on his defensive game and is unstoppable going forward. Clichy is a decent back up too. They are scoring goals and not conceding.
-
We are getting worse than Arsenal in that perspective now
-
Looks like he is in fact on his way to Rennes now instead of Rayo on loan.
-
Ronaldo has done fuck all in both games himself. Yeah he is not on their level but let's wait until the season gets further and we see the progress Hazard makes. He will come good for sure although he does need a kick in his backside.
-
Did not watch the full game but in seeing MOTD highlights alone, Costa actually battled, looked lively and had a nice old tussle with Delaney. He was fouled btw in the box and we should of had a penalty. Iwas encouraged by his runs on and off the ball and he got couple decent shots away. Not as bad as people made out it seems.
-
I never said he was not but like I said, it is easy to say "this could have been us" but two different teams, two different leagues, two different systems and basically that.
-
Gotze is a playmaker. Shaqiri too but has some pace. When you are a direct winger like Costa you can easily look like Messi. Like I said, he has been quality but he would not be anywhere near the same standard if he was here. He would spend as much time defending as he would be attacking.
-
And some people say Lukaku lacked ambition and branded him a coward for wanting to leave and "not fight for his place". Biggest bullshit ever. What else do you have to do to fight for a place more than Remy and still be outcasted.
