Yeah, agreed about the manager situation but that is why I don't agree with 'the manager picks Oscar so it means he is better than Coutinho' theory. Mourinho preferred Oscar over KDB and Mata. For me KDB is a lot better than Oscar but Mourinho obviously preferred Oscar for his set up. If Brazil hired Guardiola, Coutinho may well be their no.10. Just about the type of managers I guess. Coutinho did not impress at the Copa but he only had 1/2 starts IIRC plus sub appearances. Yeah and he switched of against Azpi but at the same time he had many standout games and was their best player in our COC meeting at Anfield imo. I hope Oscar can improve on that aspect as he rarely gave us that last season. He made the difference in games like Newcastle although his match performance was poor but I would like him to step up more often like the game against Swansea when others are not playing too well. Regarding Coutinho's style. I do think people look at him and think fragile etc but he has actually improved on his balance a lot. It is why not imo he has a lot more of an effect in the big games and also think he has improved on his work rate. Never realised that about Thiago Silva though. But for other people to label Coutinho as the next Ganso is utterly ridiculous and says more about one person's hate for a player. Ganso was overrated and never played in a top league while Coutinho has been playing in the PL from age of 19 IIRC. Furthermore he had his real standout season for Liverpool in arguably the best league in the world at 21 so as for Oscar stating he will end up like Ganso says all I need to know. Pure dislike for him. I like Oscar but like you said about Coutinho I notice this with Oscar a lot. Especially last season. Gives the balanve but I want the contribution on the offensive play on a regular basis. If he does that I am pleased. Just needs to step up more often.

But he did not vanish. That is my point. That is OTT. For instance he probably done more for them than Hazard done for us on Wednesday. Anyway I think it is best to judge him on his league form. He is in the Brazil squad. Whether he gets in the team is another question. I doubt it now that Oscar is back but come the end of the season I think Coutinho will prove again that he is worthy of being given a longer shot in the team.
-
He was the only Liverpool player who looked capable of making something happen. Had a great shot that hit the post but apart from that struggled to impact the game. But according to some people Oscar is Mr.consistent and never goes missing I am not talking about you btw.
-
True but I am 100% sure Walcott will start this. Wenger rested a lot of players who would be starting this. Cech, Bellerin, Monreal, Coquelin, Ramsey and Walcott.
-
Last season against Arsenal was the game where he really stepped up another level. Before that he was good not standout so hopefully it is the same case on Saturday. He absolutely murdered Chambers and co last season. Hopefully we see the same again and see his season kick on from here.
-
No chance Giroud starts. It is pace and movement our defence has struggled against this season and that is what Walcott offers. Furthermore, Giroud is awful when he plays against us. We know how to handle him and he has never scored a goal against us.
-
Ermmm he could not even get a start when KDB was at Wolfsburg. Is he getting ahead of Silva? No. Sterling? No. KDB. No. Nasri will never be a regular in that team unless there is an injury. They upgraded over him in the transfer window for a reason.
-
Arguable the assist of the season, combined with an excellent finish by Costa.
-
His composure on the ball (once again) was excellent as well. Very similar to Stones tbh.
-
So many mixed reactions. I thought he was very impressive. Few dodgy crosses but apart from that was very impressed. Naturally attacking LB. Made several good runs and with more matches think he will excel. Looking forward to seeing him and Hazard link up more. Will help Hazard.
-
Not going to get too complacent as it was against a really awful team but wow how refreshing to watch. Having two natural FB for a long time. When was the last time we had both a natural LB and RB playing. Even when Luis started last season, Ivanovic was at RB, not Azpi. Good to see Fabregas improved second half. Hopefully the assist and goal for him and the goal for Costa does them a well of good. Hazard frustrated me again. He was not up for it in the first half then in the last half hour or so like we saw against Swansea and other games, it is then when he gets a kick up the backside and starts to perform like we want/expect him to. I wish he would have that drive he had in the last half hour in every game. Just does not seem himself. I know eventually he will get back to his best but I want it over the 90 mins every game. Biggest compliment goes to RLC. WOW. What a performance. For a 19 year old kid who got stick in pre-season and to come in to a team that is under huge scrutiny and put in a performance like that. Just excellent. Even though he was set as a DM it was a typical Yaya Toure at his best performance he put in. When he ran with the ball he was excellent. Comfortable in possession and the way he utilised his strength was amazing. I would have him in the team for Arsenal 100%. No doubt about it. Fabregas will start and to be effective, I would rather he be alongside two beasts in Matic and RLC. Willian was fanatstic before he went off. Hopefully he is fine. Great performance and look this week we can laugh at all the other British clubs. All of them lost 2-1 while we were the only winners. Bring on Arsenal :blue scalf:

Yeah the players being 'dropped' have not been in good form but I don't think anyone has mentioned that a lot the selection is due to the early kick off against Arsenal on Saturday. Matic is going to be key that game and Mourinho obviously feels it is better preserving his energy rather than playing him twice in 3 days. Terry is getting older as well and maybe for his body it is better for him to play only one of the games. Ivanovic being dropped tomorrow most certainly means he starts on Saturday. It is a wake up call but like I was saying a major reason is also because of rotation and with Arsenal in mind. Costa as well. He will start against Arsenal regardless imo but obviously his hamstring is an issue so even if he was on good form it is a good idea leaving him on the bench for a game we should win without him tbh.
-
MOTM for me. Why couldn't he perform like that for us ffs
-
I say judge him when he plays a few more games. Even Aguero was poor when he came on. I have heard different things but when he came on against Palace most people say he changed the game.
-
Maybe Remy will finally see some minutes. Hooray :blue scalf:

Fantastic performance tonight

OK. I said I will not reply to you but I will. I did not get proven wrong with Oscar. I had my view, you had yours and I firmly keep mine. We were going around in circles so I left it like that because I knew none of us were going to agree. I do enjoy engaging in convos but not with people who can't reply without using sarcastic rubbish and you done so again. Yeah, regarding Ramsey that was biased because majority of Arsenal fans think he is a quality player but should not be out wide. You got one quote and that is baised. You believe Wilshere is thef ans darling at the Emirates when he is not. Majority of Arsenal fans prefer Ramsey over Wilshere. That is my point. Oh and Kondogbia, I stated what I saw. You claimed he is better than Matic and I gave you reasons why I disagree. Difference is it is a minority of Arsenal fans who dislike Ramsey. Majority of them do but think he should not forced out of position to keep him in the team. Kondogbia is a quality player but in his first few Inter appeeances he has not been standout. Simple as that. Two different scenarios. No one is saying Kondogbia is a bad player. He can just do more in an Inter shirt and I would agree. And like the Oscar thread, I will not reply to you after this. Not because I have been 'proven wrong' like you say but just because I will not engage in a conversation which is not going anywhere. I said I will not reply to you once but I did. This time, consider it definite. And as for calling for me to get banned. Grow up ffs. Like the little kid who cries in school for not getting his way.

Barely said anything that was worthy of a ban. I mentioned his mother, never insulted her. Oh and calling him a tosser, come off it! He is just annoying. I tried engaging in a debate with him and he just came up with a childish response so what I called him was the truth tbh. But I hate trying to engage in conversations with people who you don't really want to but I let it slide and it backfired. At least I have learned my lesson. But I take it on board Spike

Yeah and you should see what your mother says about Oscar. By the way Liverpool fans love Coutinho. I won't bother replying to tossers like you again. You remind me of the Korea guy who use to be on here and would not be surprised if you are him. Consider anything you say will go ignored because I won't reply. I actually gave a reasoned reply and you just gave a chilidish response as usual.

I like him but for one I don't think he is better than Matic. He is a better all rounder than Matic. Was reading the Inter forum and many have not been impressed with him so far. Majority state that he is really lacking on the technical side of the game and is very raw on that department. Matic is better in that perspective. Kondogbia is a better runner with the ball but they are different players tbh. I watched their game yesterday and like a lot of the Inter fans stated on the match thread and his player thread, he was quite poor in the first hald and Kucka in particular ran past him a few times and Milan exposed Inter defensively first half but poor finishing cost them. Second half he improved. But don't get me wrong I am a massive fan, but defensively Kondogbia is not all there yet at all. Just check the Inter forums like I was saying.

It is utterly ridiculous when people call fans "plastic" for calling out Mourinho. Yes, he has done a lot for us but that does not mean we should rest on our laurels and accept poor results/poor performances. Just hate when I see these members calling other members plastic.
-
As bad as Hazard, Fabregas and Costa have been I would start them this match because although football is not played on paper, this is a game really where they should be looking to get back to some sort of form. Dropping them will not instil confidence in them and I would rather they play and build up confidence before the Arsenal game. That is why I am sure all three will play.

I wonder if people are still keeping up this BS story about him being a coward for not fighting for his place. Diego Costa was awful on Saturday and majority of games this season, bar WBA, has not been in form. Yet, he is still picked and Falcao who was awful last season is constantly called on to come on as a sub while Remy has not featured in any of our league games, who done a lot for us in his limited chances last season. Shocking the way Remy is treated. If there is any player who has fought for his place, decided to knuckle down and wait for his opportunity, it is Remy but he is totally ignored and it shows Lukaku was right to leave. Merit does not get you minutes, it is your reputation. That is why Falcao is favoured over Remy. So can people put to bed this utterly ridiculous story that he could have stayed and fought for his place instead of leaving. Costa can perform as bad as he has done in the next few games and still will keep his place. But, yeah, Lukaku should be prepared to be content with this

We offer stupid wages to our young players anyway. Those who aren't even in the first team picture ffs!
-
Because what you said was utterly ludiccrous without trying to be insulting mate. You actually said he was invisible for most parts of the season which is a crazy statement. City at home and City away he provided two quality assists despite us playing very defensive football, yet he still provided the 2 key moments of the game. Arsenal away, we were very defensive again and we got the point. Look at the home fixture when we played Arsenal how good he was when we attacked them... United at home he was our best player in another very defensive performance. Was given the MOTM and was the standout player. United away? What? Seriously he was the best outfield player on the pitch and nearly scored an excellent solo goal but DDG made a fantastic save. Had that gone in, we would be talking about one the best goals of the season. Just skipped through their defence with ease. He caused Rafael problems all game. I can't actually believe what you are writing, really. QPR, away was probably one of his worse performances but he still created the winning goal and that shows what a fantastic player is about. Even on their bad days, they can come up with something magic and he did. You gave examples of why he should not be PFA player of the year then used PSG games as an example. You don't get PFA awards for performances in the UCL. Southampton he had a good game. What are you on? He caused so much problems and constantly went through their players with ease. He was like a one-man machine that game. That is why Clyne said Hazard is the best winger he has ever faced, such was the problems he caused him and co. You basically have stated random games where you think he did not score or assist in and stated he had a bad game. I was at the Burnley game. He was the best player on he pitch by far. Literally. The rest of our team were so average. He was on another level. Did you not see the excellent skill/asisst he done for Ivanovic goal? Skysports gave him a match rating of 9/10 for that game despite the fact we drew. He was quality. Another game where you have assumed but not bothered to watch. Believe me, those games are poor examples because the majority of games you stated he was the best player in which only makes me believe you are assuming and not actually watching the games.
