The defending for two of the goals was terrible, they were both free headers and the Germans wouldn't miss. For Klose's goal no one even jumped. Portugal payed the price for their bad defending but credit to Germany though, they deserved it. Kinda sad that our manager left Euro 2008 already but now he can focus on Chelsea and our boys will have some rest before they meet up for pre season.

That's so sad for Khalid and his wife, condolences.

Definitely a good move for him. He really needs regular playing time to further his career--to save it even. Good luck to ya Steve.

Sweden are out in the hands of the Russians. They really impressed me today, Russia were so energetic and they out did Sweden in everything. We should really take a look at some of their young players! Some of these QF match ups are really interesting like Holland v. Russia, thats sure to be an entertaining game. And of course Portugal v. Germany will be a tough one too.

Why are there so many Manchester United fans?
SuperSheva7 replied to Jessman's topic in Football Chat
I definitely saw more Man United shirts at my school last year as well as Real Madrid ones. They seem to have replaced all of the Chelsea and Barcelona jerseys....GLORY HUNTERS! -
Hey, welcome to TC!

Finally! I was getting worried that no one wanted to be our manager! I know he doesn't have much experience but I feel he'll go great. We're all backing ya Big Phil! OO...imagine all the players we'll attract with him! LOVELY!

Who Do You Want To Be The Next Manager?
SuperSheva7 replied to EskWeston's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
I really have no clue who is gonna be the manager next season. Though I personally want a manager has a good CV, one who can bring attacking football, can deal with the egos, incorporate some youth, and one that wont bring too much attention to Chelsea in the press, which Roman & Co. will deffo want.....if such a manager exists. As for the one that is most popular with the fans, I'm not so sure. Sparky is a nice choice for the romantics but I don't know if he has got everything we need in a manager right now. Don't get me wrong, I think Mark Hughes is great, he has many great qualities. He can command respect from the players and he is a fans favorite, but how can we hire a manager who hasn't yet managed a team in the UCL before when it is deffo one of our main targets next season? I just don't see it working out the same way that everyone dreams it will. It is always nice to have an ex Chelsea player as manager but that should be just a bonus. Whoever comes in as the manager of Chelsea next season, good luck to him, he'll need it. -
Omg I'm horrible at grammer...I DEFINITELY want him to stay! Goodness...my bad.
-
I hope so. I think Sheva isn't a completley lost cause, we'll see if the next manager will give him a chance. On Lampard though, I'm really not sure. I really don't know whats going through his mind right now. After the UCL Final loss is he thinking... right, I'm off now. Or is he thinking, I've got the good life, the fans love me, and I'm sure Chelsea will improve next season so why would I want to leave? I hope it is the former!
-
Ooops! Sorry, will still be going for Croatia though.
-
Stop being so mean, we all are upset. We gotta to pick our selves up now not blame people esp. JT, think about the countless times he's saved us. Think about how he must feel, did you see how upset he was? I broke in to tears myself. COME ON Chelsea!!! deffo agree with Drogba going to Milan now!
-
Ya starting around 2pm my time, gonna be rushing home from school which ends at 2:15. Golly I'm so nervous, I won't be able to concentrate all day! Come on Chelsea!!

From The Times May 20, 2008
Frank Lampard transfer claims stun Chelsea
Chelsea's preparations for the Champions League final were disrupted yesterday by reports from Italy that Frank Lampard would quit the club after the game to take up a four-year contract with Inter Milan. Confirmation from Uefa that Lubos Michel, the referee who allowed Luis García's infamous “ghost goal” in the semi-final defeat by Liverpool three years ago, will be in charge against Manchester United tomorrow evening provided a further source of irritation. Senior officials at Chelsea reacted with surprise and anger that fresh speculation about Lampard, 29, had surfaced just 48 hours before the biggest match in the club's history and Peter Kenyon, the chief executive, placed an immediate call to Roman Abramovich, the owner, to ensure that no deal had taken place without his knowledge. An investigation has been launched to discover whether an agent is falsely claiming to represent Chelsea in transfer business, so strong was the word from Milan that a transfer was on the verge of completion. Sources in Milan were happy to provide details of a salary - approximately £5.8 million a year - and a length of contract for the Lampard transfer, yet Chelsea claimed that there had been no contact between the clubs, while Steve Kutner, the England midfield player's agent, insisted that no decision would be made on his future until later in the summer, after talks with Chelsea. Lampard's contract has one year to run and it may be that if he cannot reach agreement on an extended deal, he will be sold rather than allowed to leave on a free transfer, but Kutner said that word of an imminent move to Milan was wrong. “There is no truth in it at all,” Kutner said. “I don't know why Inter Milan would think this. Nobody has talked to me and I am good friends with the owner, Massimo Moratti. I took Paul Ince there, I took Patrick Vieira there - if there was something on I am sure I would know. “The situation is that Frank has got a massive match on Wednesday, after which he needs to spend time with his family, because he has not had a real opportunity to do that since his mother died. He needs to get away and sort out his personal life and when he has done that we will sit down and talk about his future in football. “After that we will talk to Chelsea and that is as far as we have got - there is nothing in the pipeline and I don't know why this has surfaced now.” The speculation could not have come at a worse time for Chelsea, with so much uncertainty around important players going into the club's first Champions League final. Didier Drogba is a target for AC Milan and there is still no final word on whether Avram Grant, the first-team coach, will be in charge next season. Lampard's departure seemed a perfect fit with increasing indications that he would be reunited with José Mourinho, Grant's predecessor, if he went to Inter. Mourinho expects to open talks with Moratti next week and is favoured to replace Roberto Mancini as coach. Although preliminary terms have not been agreed, his appointment is increasingly regarded as a matter of when, rather than if. Chelsea reacted with stoicism to Michel's appointment, though there is little doubt that they would have preferred another referee, for superstitious reasons if nothing else. Chelsea have not won a match officiated by the Slovak, who also took charge of their 1-0 defeat to Werder Bremen in last season's group stage. Chelsea will train at the Luzhniki Stadium this evening, with the final place in their starting XI still up for grabs. It is a straight fight between Florent Malouda and Salomon Kalou. Grant is leaning towards picking Malouda for his greater experience - the France winger has started all Chelsea's Champions League away matches this season - though a final decision could be delayed until tomorrow afternoon.

Wow love it!

^^ Yup he did! Sir Alex Ferguson has hit back at Avram Grant's claims that Manchester United benefited from favourable refereeing decisions in their crucial victory over Wigan Athletic last Sunday. "I've been expecting it," Ferguson said. "I don't think it's about last Sunday, I think it's about next Wednesday and maybe even next season. I could go on and on about decisions because they're all debatable at the end of the day, we feel we didn't get a lot of decisions this season. “Maybe when we went to Chelsea we should have been champions before it, but with the season over we can put it on the backburner and now it's about next Wednesday and I think that's why Avram's talking that way.” The Chelsea first-team coach had claimed that Steve Bennett, the referee, helped United win the title by missing a deliberate handball by Rio Ferdinand and failing to dismiss Paul Scholes after his clumsy challenge on Wilson Palacios. Ferguson has brushed off the remarks as nothing more than petty mind games as the war of words between the clubs continues before the Champions League final in Moscow next Wednesday.

I think Germany will win it too but I'm going to support Croatia. I really like Niko Kovac and even with out Rosicky they should make it pretty far. Plus their kits are fab.

Amazing! Great season review
