The time Young used to start for England was a time nobody ever feared playing England in the WC. 🙂
-
Think he wanted to leave from the other side, but was told to make the run across the pitch. Boy was tired. 🙂

LOL

already set with Fluminense his former Brazilian club. Should've gone last season tbh.

Penalty on Palmer, but not on Madueke. That's really embarrassing: players fighting to take the 5th goal in an easy match against terrible opposition.

Royal flush!

😆 TBF, I wrote we were going to win this before the game started. I also aim to become a top club again. 😅 I also think folks here are a bit inconsistent when talking about a championship vs cup. I remember complaints for Tuchel side for their performance in the PL, for ex. That not long after the CL win. 🤷♂️

It was a nice Mudryk run, but normally he'd been tackled. Everton players defend with social distancing.
-
Pretty much the same he always plays for me: showing too much of the football... not enough work rate and wasteful shooting. Madueke had a good start, then his level dropped back to his norm by end of first half. He should be doing more considering the opposition. I think if we could pick any player from Everton, we'd all only even consider Pickford and only because we don't have an established goalie atm. They really don't have enough quality in their team to play the PL atm. It's a bottom table written all over.

More like Enzo is kicking himself for missing this. 😃 Heh was good nothing great, esp considering who he's playing against.
-
Great first touch and finish, but calm now. 😃 Our players have WAY too much time on the ball. Jackson had all the time in the world to apply the finish. That won't happen against better opposition. Opposition is everything at this level. Job well done, but don't read too much into it.
-
Nope 😃 not because we can defend, but because Everton can’t score.
-
Everton are shit tho… 😆 Still gotta take care of business when playing shit opposition, so good stuff. palmer is just crazy good. Don’t care what trait in his game city did not like—they fucked up.
-
What a goal and what a player! Second nutmeg in 16min in. 😆
-
That was a sitter... match looks pretty even. We will need a moment of brilliance from Palmer... as usual.
-
Scary starting lineup, but the opposition is the worse there is, so no excuse today. We should be able to win this regardless who plays.
-
The final phase would be to hire an arrogant Frenchman as the manager... that's a (PL) tested and tried method to raise the hate level against your club tenfold. 🙂
-
City will be hated just as much given enough time. With all that cash flowing in, don't think they are going away anytime soon.

Looks just like another ball-winning mid to me -- nothing special about his game. Hope it's just age and he improves, but that's what I see right now. Can't see him being an upgrade on Caicedo regardless how one rates the latter.
-
A bit all over the place, but still a nice read. I Agree about Caicedo potentially doing better at Liverpool (still unsure about his passing ability). I disagree about Mudryk for the earlier point made in the article, which was conveniently forgotten when making the point above: Trossard is competitive, while Mudryk isn't. Sometimes it's just the mentality of the players, and not about tactics or nice speeches in the locker room.
-
Does Tottenham quality? 😅 prob not, but if they did, Sarr still has more assists. Caicedo numbers in the final third, as well as long ball completion, aren't good any way you look at it. His numbers are slightly better in league cups, which once again just proves how important who the opposition is.

Avram Grant reminds me of Tal Ben Haim, likely the worst CB I've seen play for Chelsea FC. 😁 And then we have the big question: say we bring someone really good, a top manager, would they listen to him? Would the owners work with him to fix the gaping holes in the squad, or would they give him Brighton's Ferguson because... reasons?
-
yep and there is another nuance that I find interesting: What is "good enough for ..." are we saying they are far superior to what the opponents have? or it's about the same level and we depend on something extra, either by some masterclass tactics, luck, or other factors to win? I remember a time where absolute quacks could (and have) manage our team because of the abundant quality (and experience) of the squad.

And? was it a final I missed? Did you take a peek at the standings by chance? Are they just lucky?
