I’d get Washington in tbh
-
What exactly does mudryk need to do to get a sub?! Anyone will do!
-
Villa stopped playing and are rightfully punished for it. great goal by Gallagher!
-
Finally playing with some intent and urgency. Well except for muddy mudryk lost possession 3 times in a row there 😂
-
Good pressure and finish — made up for the first.
-
that’s a very low bar right there. 😼 Madurar may become serviceable one day, today he’s just nowhere good enough for me.
-
True on the other hand he wasn’t great in the PL.
-
same. With bizarre changes in the lineup changing everything that had worked in the prior game (Luiz in midfield for ex).
-
Honestly think same level as Poch. Same relaxed posture on the sidelines too.
-
They are replaying the first goal and pointing out madueke here. I was wrong he did not switch off for a moment — at no point he was marking someone. He was in the position to do so, but never does.
-
He’s injured again. players with recurring injuries and/or long-term injuries are slowly brought back for a reason.
-
Well we know why carney has not been playing now don’t we?
-
The bench is shocking today! Where is the rest of the players!? Wow
-
The issue is that we do t get to know who’s truly available. There is that first contact between club representative with player agent, or club to big agent, which we don’t get to hear about.
-
Challobah marking with social distancing in mind. goalie wasn’t great 👎 Martinez would’ve stoped that.
-
Mudryk is bizarre — need to improve attacking options for this or the next manager. Simply not good enough.
-
We simply don’t know if it’s the lack of instructions or players not following them. Personally, I suspect the latter given the age and inexperience of certain players like madueke—there is zero excuse to not follow a runner next to you. jackson is playing well.
-
For their goal Madueke switches off and does not follow the overlap. Then puts his hand on waist once he sees the goal conceded. amateur level defending tbh.
-
Would also be very nice if we had ANY attacking player capable of heading the football in the roster right now. 😅
-
Yeah agreed, not right now. Another season like this one though and his agent will get real busy.
-
Yup and I reckon the missing variable in their equation is "time." What do we do while these players develop? Watch grass grow? 😃 Players blossom at different times in their careers -- there is no guarantee these youngster will get anywhere near their peaks in 2-3 years from now. Take Solanke as an example. He's playing well now at 26!

It's actually good news except the Copa America bit. Useless competition. BTW, Ugo looks like a shocking signing so far.
-
And I thought the whole point was to win silverware... silly me. Suppose Chelsea FC is now an expensive "Football Manager in Real Life" experiment. It's going to look really stupid when the successful experiments (actual WC players) demand to leave at some point--which is what players always do. Real Madrid will thank us for all our efforts and gladly take these players off our hands.

Chelsea is a big club by any measure you use, esp valuation. Big clubs don't develop a lot of players in the senior squad; they buy them and win silverware. Even today our spending is at the top amongst all clubs, so I have a hard time with the argument of developing a full squad of expensive nobodies for 2-3 years is the way to go. We are the only big club doing this, which is really odd to say the least. Quoting @lucio "every donkey was young once." so we don't really know which of these players will become good, great, passable, or really not good enough and we will only find out in time. I totally get placing a few bets, esp in attack/striker where acquiring established talent is so hard, but doing so for the entire team at a club like Chelsea is really unheard of. I'm going to emphasize that I don't even think Jackson is the problem, but the lack of options around him, and for him. Had Kai stayed for example, we'd have Jackson and him to rotate, or play alongside depending on what you'd need for specific situations. Poor planning left us with only jackson, which considering the amount of money spent is pretty bizarre. I will also emphasize that the point here *is* to win silverware and not develop players that will become great and move to real madrid in 3 years time.

Watched parts of the game and the Everton team was all fired up. They played supper aggressive and physical while Liverpool did not match that. Of course they got Calvert back, who can be a handful in the air; they were also missing old man Coleman, which means they started the game with 11 players this time. Klopp gets away with a lot tbh. I can totally see why Brazil dropped Alisson and handed the #1 to Ederson.
