Striker's goal for Everton. Still pretty much gifted no-one jumped and Alisson was ball-watching.
-
Yes, and it applies to a number of our players atm. Just say he's a winger and show the videos of his good runs. Works every time. π That's probably how we ended up with him and Mudryk.
-
Don't think Mudryk's inability to play football has much to do with Poch. Palmer seems unaffected by Poch's poor game management, for ex. Mudryk is one of the worst players I've seen playing for Chelsea FC. I like hyperboles to make a point, but this isn't one. Tabloids reporting another yes-man from Brighton... make it stop please.
-
Can we just skip it? "not going to show up for this one, next!" Actually, we could just inform the FA we are satisfied with the number of games played already and are done for the season.
-
yeah good point. Unless we are able to move some players, which will be hard. The ones with market value are also the ones we'd want to keep. I still don't think this squad is coachable as in it can't possible compete in the PL. Even if the perma-injured players come back and stay healthy, we'd still be a few signings short from being able to compete esp in attack--Martinelli and Jesus were sitting on the bench yesterday.

pretty good summary. It's really difficult to establish causality in football, because of the number of variables involved and the fact that everything is changing all the time (form, mood, confidence, the players, the opposition and their strategies). Agreed, some of these players who left played extremely well under Tuchel, but the last memory is the one that sticks. Heh, I did not think Kai was particularly impressive (aside from his aerial game) today until our players gave up at which point it was just too easy for him and others. I do think Poch is a bit too much of a yes-man and likely not going to be strong enough to demand the changes the squad needs for next season, so yeah he probably needs to go unless it is to bring a third yes-man in, which wouldn't surprise me one bit. Maybe next season Lavia, Carney, and Nkunku remain healthy and fit for the entire season, which will help the next manager (and make him look like a genius), or maybe they won't. Or, maybe they are also not all that great -- after all we hardly saw them on the pitch this season.

Had a clear cut chance from inside the box and, as usual, sent it wide. Fuck Poch! π
-
Yes, I know your opinion is factual and mine is just an opinion. π
-
There is no chance of that happening because the club already noticed that some of these players are WAY below the quality required at this level. It's not going to be the same squad. Wanna bet? I don't give a shit about Poch. Don't think he's a great manager either, but it's naive to think it's all down to him. I can't think of any more clear cut chances than the ones Jackson has been missing, for example. π€·ββοΈ

easy now... π
-
Nonsense. There is no excuse for these players to play like shit... none. Replace the manager and all is solved. Wish football was that easy. We should prob start recruiting in the lower leagues and spend more on the manager given that that's all that matters.
-
We should have kept him considering we ended up with no-one as a backup. But now that we have a transfer window, nope I think we can do a lot better. We need to sort the manager situ first tho, who's idea is to be implemented for ex.
-
Arteta did not improve Arsenal team. That team that he got back then was uncoachable just like ours IMO. What he did was slowly let go of the players which did not fit his style and got new ones who did. He even tried to get rid of Partey this season, but Partey did not want to go apparently. All their slow mids, pedestrians on the ball, were replaced by mobile and far more skillful mids including Rice, who has really blossomed into an allrounder. I really don't see any other route for us. We need someone with a good idea and able to execute it.
-
My personal preference is for a manager who is very particular in the playing style, one of these modern managers. One who will be super annoying regarding players characteristics and whether someone would work on his system, or not. He would ask for very specific characteristics and let go of players who don't fit that style. That way, maybe, just maybe, we may be able to disrupt "the project" just long enough to get a team going. π

As a striker, Tammy is A LOT better than Jackson. How did we end up with a single half-striker (looks more like a winger to me) in the PL spending as much as we did is beyond me and likely anyone.
-
They have already bottled it -- just don't realize it yet. π
-
Happen to agree with both here. Isn't it the point tho? the idea is to always improve your side, not take a huge step back because of .... reasons.
-
The question folks need to be asking is, "would a different manager have answers with this squad?" How certain are you? Also, would that include having a say in the transfer window? Because I've read that Poch did not have that (not sure he even wanted it tbh).
-
Speaking of which, for folks who think it's all down to mentality and/or experience level, Hazard was likely one of the players I've ever seen with the worst mentality on the pitch (and some off of it too). He happened to ooze quality tho esp ball control, which was Messi'esque. Nice practice session for Arsenal. Will help them with confidence levels for the next matches. Good job Chels! π
-
Yes, he may be an average manager at this level. However, do you honestly think a 5x0 with this performance is exclusively down to the manager?!
-
The project is in full swing and working as expected. Stay calm and enjoy the ride. π
-
I guess the no-Cole test was successful. I mean we now know what this team can do without him... not a whole lot.
-
Sterling should have started... don't care for any other reasons. He'd at least hold to the ball better than Muddy. Noni was actually decent at that -- only lost possession a couple of times in this match. Just think Noni does not do enough in attack at this level. We just need better starters.
-
Believe in "the project." π

Mudryk was bizarre on this game. I know it may sound repetitive, but his performances are too. You just can't do so little doing a match like this. Embarrassing stuff.
