If Tuchel really goes to Arsenal than bullet dodged for us and Congrats to Arsenal. I think he fits them well with his attacking style and emphasis on flair players and he will win fuck all with them, maybe the occasional cup because they will be leaking goals right left and centre as Tuchel teams always do. Tuchel is a progressive manager and a difficult character so the AVB comparison is spot on. Tuchel on the Chelsea seat would be like a peacock on a vulcano. Probably looking spectacular with the right lighting but everyone knows it will end ugly.

I really did have alot of hope for Bats when he came and was disapointed with some fans for not giving him 'time' But how long do we give OK players tho IF we want to win silverware? It would be fine if we was allowed to have no pressure on us and just take a complete season to experiment on players. But I can't see Roman being happy with that. We wouldn't see Contes arse for dust.

Honestly, it's not like Man City, Bayern, Real Madrid, PSG, essentially the teams who should be our peers, do any better with their youth player integration.
And, regardless of other teams or our youth integration, what needs to be commended is the fact that we assemble the strongest youth teams in Europe. Year in year out. Barcelona are loaded with talent, they're known for it, but who wins the competitions every year? Chelsea Chelsea Chelsea. We bring the heat. We bring the fya. We understand something about youth which other teams don't. We're not as bad at this as we seem.
And, looking at our most successful youth team of all time (the one with RLC, Musonda, Abraham, Christensen, Chalobah, Ake etc.), a few of them have a chance of making it here (Christensen, RLC, Abraham if the board are happy to settle for a less-than-elite back-up), and the others are genuinely good additions to the teams they've now joined - mainly Premier League clubs so far.
The only players we've fucked up with in my opinion are Jay Dasilva, Charlie Colkett so far, and somewhat Izzy Brown. Barely any truly great talents have slipped through the cracks so far. McEachran wasn't up to it, Boga has been too streaky even in the youth teams (but how can't you want such a flairy player to succeed? hence he's given the benefit of the doubt), Solanke had nothing to his game which made him qualified to play for a top team, and that's that. Everyone else isn't good enough for our senior squad, and yet they'll still end up at decent teams, no doubt being one of the best players on those teams.
(Can't comment on Musonda so far. He was going to get chances this season, but missed out due to injury.)
Where are everyone else's youth players? Nowhere. Arsenal's bring no success to any team they play for, and hold Arsenal themselves back from investing in their positions when required; Tottenham have brought through the cream of the crop, Harry Kane, but nobody else writing headlines (I imagine a lot of people think Alli and others are youth products. Nope.) To reiterate, Arsenal have nobody from the youth team helping them progress; Man City too; and United aren't managing their youth prospects very well.
What if, the narrative is actually completely skewed, and instead of being the worst with youth, we're actually the very best in the Premier League with the young ones?

Today was Conte's 50th Premier League game and he's won 38 of them (76%). Not a bad record, is it?
On a different subject, he needs to keep that beard.

Had a great day Saturday thanks to Ola Aina...VIP player pass for one of the hospitality suites at the KCOM Stadium and as well as seeing Aina and Hector it was good to see Boga and Tomori too. Boga stood out for Birmingham and that's saying something, they were shite. Aina was solid, didn't have much to do but steady. Hector is a real presence, big physical lad and commanded the back line brilliantly.
Top day..This is my lad with Aina and Hector before the game.

Its been ages since Liverpool won the Premier League. Since Roman bought Chelsea, its the most successful club in the league, so the demands and expectations are different. Not to mention Conte himself was the man that created the crisis even before the first game of the season was played: he was the one the created Costa situation, he was the one the spread the rumores about being unhappy (at least he never denied them in a convincing way), he was the one demanding more players in press conferences, he was the one clearly unhappy that Matic was sold (instead of praising Bakayoko).
In terms of relation with the press Conte is easily the most stupid Chelsea coach of Abramovich era.

What I like is that whenever the team performs badly, regardless of the result, he comes out saying we need to do better. I genuinely think that the football played by the team is leaving Conte sleepless and he's working to find a strategy that works for this squad. That's the right attitude you want to see in a manager and I will back Conte for the next two seasons.
It would be a mistake to sack him

So people/our board have no problem with playing the likes of Diego, Hazard, Costa on 200k+, but God forbid a goalkeeper who's easily top 5 in the world ask for that...

He's one of those players that I believe will, many years from now, look back on time and feel he enjoyed his time here more than any other club. Obviously that's no reason to keep a player, but it makes any potential departure hard on the heart. My god I miss Mata.

While it's all well and good pointing to Mahrez, let's see how he follows up. Leicester will struggle this season, even if they keep Mahrez, so using him as an example isn't really the best. His dazzling form came from nowhere and the same can be said about Willian.
But again, no-one's arguing Willian isn't world-class. Of course he's not and yes he's limited in what he can do on the ball in the final third, but to anyone who saw Willian pre-2014 will know that's what you get with him anyway . Average is also harsh, he's very good as @DYC. is making the point of and as such he's useful considering the lack of world-class right wingers in the game let alone available right now!

That last bit has a lot to do with football culture in Europe (or, N. Europe, or England specifically) from what I've seen.  Utterly ridiculous. I didn't avoid organized religion just to become a football fan and endure the same B.S.
I also have difficulty watching football these days, so I have plenty of other stuff to do in my spare time.

And yes, we're all desperate to see a good Chelsea side again that can control matches with speed, physicality and skill despite the "parity" in the Premier League and the crazy spending across the football world. That 04/05 season seems a lifetime ago for me personally.
