How much time is on his contract? If its a couple of years, why not loan him? Maybe 6 months to see if he can play regular football.

What I like about this window is that we created a great foundation. Ever position has young players that should be with us for a while. Now we should play through this season, and see who steps up, and where we are weak at. If after this season we keep leaking goals, sign a marquee defender. If we aren't scoring enough, buy a WC striker and do on and so forth. The board has really set up Chelsea for success for years to come and we should applaud them. Ill say it over and over again, it's good times to be a chelsea fan.

He looks to be a good dribbler, but what are his passing skills? Could he dictate play, and tempo?
-
Again, we will have plenty of games this season, so I'm sure we will see different formations and tactics. It's not like we are confined to only one. So chill.
-
With both Rambo, and Oscar nor effective in a 4-3-3, I'm sure we shall see it this season, especially when we want to give Hazard, and Mata a rest.
-
I hope Chelsea say the same thing when RM and Barca come a knocking for Hazard, in a few years time.

I'm watching the Man U game and he seems to be fulhams best player. You guys think he would work in the pivot, alongside mikel?
-
Torres hat trick! I can feel it!!!
-
Came on in the 81st minute.
-
Haters gonna hate, Mikel will keep starting. Nuff said.

I don't think ANY striker in the world would of had a good season last year with the way Chelsea were playing. Every game I watch of his I am always impressed by something he does. He is still a classy player, and this will be his season. So let's chill with the cavani talk and let FT be the main man for once in his Chelsea career. If he doesn't start scoring goals, then it would be obvious the player is broken, and not the system. My biggest complaint of his, is that he seems to be a whiney bitch. I remember one clear time during reading that he would've scored a brace if he wasn't complaining to a referee about a supposed foul. But anyways this shall be a very exciting season. It is great times to be a Chelsea fan.

Yeah he very good yesterday. Everyone around him, trusts him, and he distributed the ball very well. Guess he has his hater-blockers on!
-
Both his shirt and his jeans had a ridiculous amount of zippers on it. Maybe it's just cause I'm not European but it looked silly.
-
Did anyone see what he was wearing on the sidelines? Maybe some of the other Chelsea boys can give him some fashion tips.
-
Best part is that he isn't in form yet. The best has yet to come.
-
You make valid points, and he would obviously improve our team. I would love for us to sign him but just think we can spend our money more wisely. He certainly is a WC striker though.
-
Maybe I am wrong but I just dont understand why Cavani would be anymore successful here than Torres is. He would need the same service that Torres requires. Though he is a better shooter and will take some from range, I dont think that justifies the 35 mil we are about to drop on him. I think we need to build a team where a completly average striker will get many chances, and score many goals before we bring in a WC striker. Cavani just wouldnt have as much influence, just like Torres doesnt have much influence.
-
Modric. He will just make everyone around him look better, and get the likes of hazard, mata, and Torres in much more dangerous positions.
-
Note that I'm not trying to diss Ramires and Ivanovic. They should be used against big teams, in a defensive formation that won us the CL last year, but when we played possession based attacking football they were our weak points. If we just add better attacking players at that position, and maybe another striker we shall have a fantastic team.
-
After watching today's game, the weaknesses in our team seemed so obvious. We need a RB who has pace, can pass well and can contribute in the attack. Ivanovic was really poor in these categories. Hopefully azpi can improve on this. We also need width. We were so narrow, we desperately need a RW who can cross the ball in. I used to be a fan of getting hulk, but I believe, Sturridge can be the same player, and that Victor Moses would be a better option for us (both tactically and financially). I also don't understand why cavani would be more successful here than Torres. His touch isn't better, he's not a better dribbler not is he creative. He will need the same type of service Torres needs. I'd prefer to spend that money on a world class player for the pivot.
-
It might make sense, but having to watch him play seems very underwhelming. So it's a no thanks from me.
-
Yeah I thought he did well. He created that one on one for Oscar which was great. I think the addition of Hazard, and Oscar, And potentially Hulk/Moses, will help with Nando's game the most. He will get many games this season and with the squad we current;y have, he should have a good season. Its sink or swim.
-
It makes sense. They could use Sturridge, MRLSH, and 30 million pounds. Would suck to play against your old best player twice a year, but he needs to come play for the Blues!
-
He is fast! Torres Bertrand-Hazard-Ramires Would be a great defensive/counter-attacking team.
-
I agree. A DPL is terribly needed. Imagine I'd we could get the ball to Torres when he has beaten the defense. Imagine if we could get the ball to Hazard or Mata while they are in dangerous positions. Inagine if we could just recycle possesion. Signing a "Modric" will help every single one of our players on the field. Lampard just isn't cutting it. Great player, just not his role.
