LOL... Pogba's line against Bologna Tackles 7 Interceptions 3 clearances 1 shots 4 dribbles 2 87 touches 85.5% passing Ya I agree, you couple those stats with a volley goal and you have a helluva player! You guys really need to start paying attention to the finer points of the game....
-
He was definitely better, I'm still waiting for him to take guys on and use his skill to create opportunities. Until he does that against a good opponent I'm not willing to give him more than a good performance. The FK was pretty nice!

If we're gonna give PSG all that possession someone needs to man mark Verratti. He's getting the ball way too much... Oscar needs to play the 10 but in a defensive role. If we cut off Verratti we stand a good chance of winning the tie.
-
Stats said he won one foul... I don't remember much of his game mainly because he was mostly anonymous but I do remember Willian who drew 5 fouls. His best action all game was the dribble past Maxwell, its burned in my memory because that's the only time I remember him doing something positive on the ball

Agree. If we are to progress and become the team everyone is hoping we can be, Hazard can't be at the fulcrum of our attack, he's a cog when you need an engine. He's the chorus when you need a leading man. He often looks like he doesn't even want the ball... Last year he was taking on all comers, he receives it, slows the play down, allow the defense to shift then passes it to the next closest player. We need a guy who possesses the will and skill to be the best, he is our highest paid player and for most of this entire year he's been ineffectual. I'm not the type to make excuses for players or to coddle them because you're scared they may leave, its always gonna be about the badge for me and he can kiss it all he likes, we are not seeing the commitment it takes to be our talisman. All you have to do is look at the commitment employed by Willian or to a lesser extent Pedro. Neither of them have the same sort of raw talent Hazard has yet because they work hard on and off the ball their impact is felt. Something has changed, not just the manager either. Hazard just doesn't seem committed to the cause and all of you can continue to buy into the idea that he's just coming back from injury and before that Jose killed his game, bottom line is loads of players get injured and you'd be hard pressed to find anyone who looks as lackadaisical and passionless as Eden Hazard. All you need to do is look at the performances from last year to know he's nowhere near his best, what's the reason? I don't think any of us can answer it but all I ask is when you're on the pitch and not having the best game just work hard for the team. He doesn't do that, show me that you care about the badge! And for the record he wasn't great in the first half he showed flashes with some nice combinations. At the fulcrum of everything we did well was Cesc, Willian and Baba.

The fall from grace has been so sharp... I can't believe this is the same player who basically won us the title last year, a shadow of himself is a total understatement. Big players need to be decisive in these matches. Can you imagine Neymar, Messi or even Silva being subbed out of a game like this with it still in balance? He's doing next to nothing out there and it is extremely frustrating as a chelsea fan. The fact that Oscar came in for him at 70 tells me one of two things, either Hazard is still out of shape and was knackered or he just doesn't possess the focus and concentration to make a difference in these big ties. Either way this is very bad for Chelsea...

Hate to say I told you so but, well... Baba Rahman is a helluva a player and he showed that and then some tonight. Big stage, calm cool and collected. 5 tackles, 6 interceptions in an away leg tie against one of the best teams in Europe. Magnificent. Terry comes back into the side for sure but we have to find a way to keep Rahman in the team, one of Cahill or Brana must be sacrificed... My hope is its Cahill
-
my sentiments exactly!
-
Maybe its best we sell him then... for his own good! He's just extremely hard to motivate. Often looks disinterested and has one goal.... That is not just bad that exceeds Torres and Shevy in terms of futility, it is beyond shocking for a player of his pedigree who hasn't had any serious injuries and is in his prime years. I'm sure you can understand the frustration when our talisman has gone from best player in the EPL to ineffectual in a few months.
-
I'm hoping the big stage that is the Champions League lights a fire underneath him. He has without a shadow of a doubt let the entire organization down from the summer right up until now... Didn't stay fit, played a lot of games out of shape(still if you ask me) and has the worst body language of any of our players. There was a time he would demand the ball, now it looks like he's scared to see it at his feet. Incredibly talented but incredibly difficult to motivate too. We need to see something from him on Tuesday is all hands on deck now.

The Next Manager?

He's tactically inept! Why do you want a manager who only knows how to play one way? Its not as if our current squad are capable of winning consistently playing an open style and furthermore he clearly doesn't have an eye for talent when you look at who they have brought in post Mancini. Fortunately I don't believe Pellegrini is in the running for the position, in my opinion he has fluked on league title and massively underachieved given the outlay of spending and the depth of squad. -

Not me... I want balance -
I really don't get why this is so hard to understand... Djilobodji was purchased to make up the numbers since we couldn't purchase our real target(Stones) Michael Hector is a HG prospect who was well sought after from tons of premier league teams, he was purchased with the notion that we can make a profit off him later. Guus absolutely has say in who he gets to work with, I don't know why you would think otherwise.
-
So if he said "no" he wouldn't be coming right?
-
He absolutely has say... It's rumoured to be a loan deal which directly impacts Guus.
-
I love him. I real lynchpin player who plays well in the big games but at this stage in his career 25m is too much with Ruben knocking on the door
-
You sure it's not because we're saving our shillings till we get our manager? Are you sure we didn't go budget in the summer because our targets weren't available? As bad as the summer was I'm glad the club didn't spend big on secondary targets. There are only a small handful of players who would make us considerably better and they clearly weren't available.
-
I disagree... I think the kid has everything. Yes he is inconsistent but when he's brilliant he is of that quality that makes you want to watch.
-
The reason why I don't think we need to spend big on a no.10... This kid is the truth!
-
everyone talks about that goal against Barca... Like I said his conversion rate is not very good. Even with his pace back he still misses an awful lot.
-
He's never been world class. He doesn't convert at a high enough rate for me.
-
that xi is midtable. no power whatsoever
-
as long as its for the rumoured fee and wage demand

Seamus Coleman injury pretty serious I imagine.
