  1. No I get that for sure, he's played most of his games on the left. This is precisely why I think we're interested because of his ability to play in different roles. More of an Auxiliary striker.
  2. Pato for peanuts is at least a sign that the club are biding their time before they go big in the summer. Pato is basically replacing Falcao in the pecking order, and while I'm not elated, I do like the fact that its a low risk high reward type deal. 50k a week is nothing. From the videos I've seen his explosiveness looks to be back, he does have tidy feet and is a willing passer. We live to fight another day by not committing big dollars before we get our manager.
  3. I want Cholo! Does he leave Atleti when they're at their lowest though?
  4. The flipside to this is the Euros. If you're right they will have to conduct their business whilst the tournament is still going, not the best time to seal deals.
  5. This is MAJOR. Hazard isn't the kind of player you buy and sit for a year... He'd likely look like Rooney when he's eligible to play
  6. Ya so long as he comes with Navas I'm all for it....
  7. What this will also do is drive up his price!
  8. I wonder if the transfer ban on the Madrid's will have an affect on where Pogba ends up? Recently heard that Zizou wanted him at Real...
  9. So I went around the mulberry bush with you for nothing I see. What part of 'we are close to the threshold' do you not understand? You said we need a couple FB's a couple CM's and a striker. Is that still something you think we can do this window or before we have our manager? My point throughout this entire arduous process was to highlight we need to be patient because we are close to the point we can't offer up anymore long term contracts. I can see maybe one player this window, a striker since we have three injury prone strikers... Nothing more.
  10. I see you've forgotten Amelia... No surprise.
  11. CAN SOMEONE ELSE PLEASE EXPLAIN THE RULES TO THIS BLOKE??? "You can make up the numbers with an unlimited amount of u-21 players" That doesn't make them HG!!! All we've done is added players to make up 25. The point is we are close to the threshold for players who AREN'T u-21's simply because we don't have a full compliment of HG players. So no, we can't replace Traore with Reus because like I've been saying we're close to the threshold for players who are over 21. We can only have 17 players who are over the age of 21 and we're at 15... 16 if you include recalled Atsu I'm hoping your thickness will subside shortly.
  12. You could learn a thing or two playing football manager. Invest in a copy your knowledge of the rules needs a bit of brushing up!
  13. You really don't get it do you? We've made up the squad number with u-21's to get to 25 because we don't have enough Home Grown players... Good Lord its like I'm speaking to a brick wall. Yes Traore Kenedy, Zouma and Baba qualify as players we can use to make up a 25 man squad but they do NOT count as HG. So in essence we are running with a small inexperienced squad to make up for the fact are close to the threshold for non-association trained players http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/eng_prem/8858634.stm DO YOU UNDERSTAND NOW?
  14. Except for the fact that we are the quota for players who aren't homegrown. so with the exception of John Stones, who I think will likely leave in the summer, its best not to spend big unless you know exactly who the manager wants.
  15. No they don't. The u-21 rule does not include players from foreign territories. You can register as many u-21s as you want but in order to register a full for the Prem or CL you need 8 HG players. u-21 players can be registered but they don't necessarily count in the 25 man roster. SO any player under the age of 21 make up the 25 man squad BUT only if the amount of players we have who are OVER 21 does not exceed 18 players. Come back when you understand the rules. Even football manager teaches you this.
  16. I don't think you understand the rule... A Home Grown player will be defined as one who, irrespective of his nationality or age, has been registered with any club affiliated to the Football Association or the Football Association of Wales for a period, continuous or not, of three entire seasons or 36 months prior to his 21st birthday (or the end of the season during which he turns 21). So right off the bat, Zouma, Kenedy, Traore don't qualify... Blackman and Aina aren't registered... I'm not gonna bother addressing the rest because until you grasp the HG status it makes little sense.
  17. Potential to be fantastic as in, top 10 in the world... He may already be there but on current form its hard to say he will stay there. Maybe he just lacks the ambition to be that sort of player. Not in his head but a player of his pedigree should have scored by now... His drought is longer than that of Torres and Shevy. His body language is also piss poor, looks like he doesn't give two shits whether he's on the pitch or sitting in the bleachers. To keep it simple and plain he just looks disinterested playing for Chelsea. And if Jose is calling someone humble and whatnot take it with a grain of salt, compared to Jose EVERYONE is humble! Not the best person to make character assessments if you ask me. Iniesta is not Barca's talisman he is a cog in the engine, not even close to the same thing. If Bale or even Sanchez go as long as Hazard has without a goal you would DEF be hearing about it.
  18. Except for the fact that we are the quota for players who aren't homegrown. so with the exception of John Stones, who I think will likely leave in the summer, its best not to spend big unless you know exactly who the manager wants.
  19. I could but why? Oh and I don't dislike Hazard, he has potential to be a fantastic player. My problem with him is more so with the supporters who fail to realize this guy hasn't been giving us his best since he's penned a new deal. If most of you weren't so scared of rejection you'd come to the realization that the badge is much more important than (insert spoiled primadonna here) If any player dogs it on the pitch I don't want him at my club. Acknowledging the players who have scored just highlights how poor he's been.
  20. damage control or atleast a statement of intent for the coming summer. we need a full back or 2, we need a CM or 2, we need a striker, we need a CB. and this would still not address the problem of AMs like oscar and pedro and the fact that hazard's exit looks like a certainity. the squad needs such a massive overhaul and our board is completely and totally clueless. Damage control? With no manager? We're gonna have to spend big to fix these mistakes and we won't be able to spend big in back to back windows. Another thing to consider is player registration, we can't just buy players without selling because we're at the threshold for non-association trained players. Get the manager in first, come with a vision and a plan, THEN spend like mad to address holes. I know it sucks but this is just the predicament we're in and short term fixes aren't going to change it. Be patient, what's a couple months in the life of a football club?
  21. Not sure I agree entirely. Baba needs minutes on the pitch, he's adjusting to a league that is played at a frenetic pace and was also asked to be apart of a squad that lost its identity, not exactly the easiest thing to walk in on... I think he will come good but its hard to see that come to fruition given the limited looks he's getting.
  22. Gundogan is above average, not World Class... We don't need anymore players who can't decide games.
