You could be right... My reasons for wanting to sell him go beyond his form this season though.
-
If he has another sub par season the age won't matter.
-
To each his own. He seemed to always be injured in his time at Chelsea. I loved him as a player but maybe England wasn't the league he could excel in due to the physicality? There are more to a player's success and failure then just perseverance. Sometimes you need to find a league or a team that suits your style.
-
Because regardless of what the media tell you most players value big wages over champions league success.
-
Robben came into his own very late into his career. He flopped at Madrid and only really started to show his real quality at 30 yrs old. We were right to sell him I just wish we got more for him. This may be the only season to get capital return for Eden. I have no doubt if he goes to real he will find his form again mainly because he won't have to be the man. He's a cog not a spark plug. I'm a firm believer that your best player has to also be your hardest working and for whatever reason hazard just lacks the characteristics to lead. We need to sell him and build around a player who isn't afraid to shine when the bright lights are on. Pogba for me.
-
Yes 2014 Hazard who had Mourinho and Drogba coaxing every ounce of effort out of him. Now he's a shadow of that player, he just doesn't look anything like a player you can depend on game in game out. We can pray for a return to form but this is not exactly an anomaly, he rarely shows up for big games and on a team like Chelsea where we don't have the depth in squad to rely on others to pick up the slack he needs to be at or near his best more often then not, especially vs. stiffer competition in Europe. Do you remember one game at any point in his career where he bossed a big European game?
-
Sell now while we can still get a decent coin for him.
-
When talent isn't met with solid work ethic and proper mentality it is often not realized. I have a sneaking suspicion Hazard doesn't have the killer instinct... His father knows it too which is why he was begging Mourinho to instil that quality into him. Truly you can't coax a lamb to have the same killer instinct as a lion
-
WIllian is our best player if you ask me. Hazard is probably our most talented... He just doesn't show up for the big games. Fitness levels are his responsibility, he came into the season out of shape and has been playing catch up all season. I'd sell him for 60m right now if we could.
-
LOL... Ya its Mourinho's fault Hazard came into this season completely out of shape. You guys can protect him all you want the bottom line is he lacks the work ethic to influence big games. He's not the sort of player that elevates when the competition is at a higher level. I've never seen him play one decent game against strong opposition in the Champions League and in the Prem you can count his high level performances against the likes of Arsenal, Man Utd, City, Tottenham on one hand. He lacks the mentality to influence games when they need that little bit of magic dust.
-
Hazard can't be motivated. He needs to go.
-
Who wouldn't rather see Musonda on the left as opposed to Hazard?
-
Need to sell, not the character I want leading my club. He doesn't turn up for big games. If anyone comes in for him I strongly suggest selling
-
Cahill is garbage.
-
That was so long ago. The only thing that makes him attractive is the fact he may want out. His conversion rate is pretty poor
-
I disagree with pretty much everything bar Pjanic being faster. Yellow cards is one thing but have you not seen that when it actually comes to WINNING the ball Cesc is almost twice as effective as Pjanic? Have you ignored the frenetic pace the Prem is played at vs that of Serie A? When the pace goes up more mistakes occur. Still, if this is indeed who Conte has outlined (Not that I believe any of this since we've been linked with so many players... Click bait if you ask me) as someone he wants to work with, then we do have to give him the players he wants to work with.

LOL

No, no... Nice try... You changed what you originally wrote but since I quoted you already and it stays there. You called them attacking mids. And btw the way in no system is a CM not required to defend.
-
Whatever dude... Yes there are anchor type defenders that doesn't mean the other player in the holding position doesn't need to defend... the fact you called them attacking mids highlights how little you know about their tactical deployment.
-
You're wrong... Where they are tactically deployed requires that they do need to defend on some level. Why do you think he has 8 yellow cards? does he have some sort of a bad temper? Nowhere have I said Cesc is a good defender, I simply said I would rather have him defending than a player who makes rash challenges and rarely wins tackles.
-
And therein lies the problem. Football is played at both ends of the pitch my friend. In the midfield you need to be tactically aware and in the right positions to DEFEND then attack. Anyways if you think goals and assists are all that matter.... I don't have much more to say to you.
-
hahahaha Pjanic has 8 yellow cards and only wins 1.4 tackles a game in the MUCH slower Serie A. I really wonder what game you guys are watching when you make outlandish statements like that. Cesc is by no means a defensive dynamo but I'd take him over Pjanic simply because he's not as foul prone as Pjanic.
-
Please enlighten us, who is the best midfielder at Juventus? Resemblance and actuality are in stark contrast. RLC has great potential but he is MILES away from where Pogba is right now, MILES.... And if you ask me Pjanic, Nainggolan and Cheek is one underwhelming midfield. The very notion of going into a new season with 3 players with little to no experience with the pace and power of the Prem scares the shit out of me... Especially with a shortened preseason and a new manager. Recipe for disaster if you ask me.
-
Excellent result against a team that don't give up much. I thought we defended well, were never under pressure and for the most part took the game to Southampton. They are extremely difficult to break down and clearly defend deep. They also work as a team with a lot of pressure on the ball and good endeavour to force mistakes. I felt bad for Baba I don't think he played poorly at all though the goal came from a sloppy pass in a dangerous area. I thought Courtois was more at fault for not coming off his line quick enough. Really want to see us reel off 4 straight league victories and build some momentum heading into the final stages of the season. The one thing that is still missing from our performances is Eden Hazard! I'm not saying he was bad but he is still miles off of the form that won us the league... I really don't know what the problem is, his decision making has become so predictable and his little flicks are almost always turnovers. Has he just completely lost his way?
