  1. Anyone know what events led to him being removed as Chelsea's Pre-Match announcer at Stamford Bridge?
  2. Bertrand never played under Jose... Pretty sure Ryan wanted out. You don't just go out and get a CB! There aren't that many to go around let alone english! He's average at best, If Jose didn't have a quota to fill he'd be gone. The guy is easily the weakest link in the back 4 and has been protected from ridicule by Matic and JT
  3. Agree to disagree... Clearly what you're seeing in him is DEFINITELY in stark contrast to what I see. Without JT you'd trust Cahill to be your rock in the back? I wouldn't.
  4. Cahill's value to the squad extends beyond his performance on the pitch. He is English and we need to meet a quota. He also wasn't Jose's buy
  5. We had other pressing needs though and that's where the money went. The CB's don't boss anything we rarely have teams down our throats, the reason why many supporters question Cahill is because when we do have danger at our feet he looks like a deer in the headlights. He doesn't read the game well at all, often caught letting guys run in behind him and having to make a last ditch tackles. I think you're greatly undervaluing Matic's contribution to the squad in favour of glorifying Cahill but that's me. I admittedly have never been a fan of Cahill and the past two games have done nothing but reaffirm my suspicions. The problem with this backing off shit he does is he never makes a stand and imposes himself in a fashion that says "You've gone far enough, I'm stopping you NOW!" he just keeps back off until the player is in box with a great chance to score, everybody knows this and sees it as such. He's the last line of defense before the keeper, what good is it that he backs off all the way back into the 6yd box when our keeper is there? He's at best average, he doesn't read the game well at all in my estimation.
  6. Oh, okay. I don't think the two scenarios are at all alike.
  7. Yes we sold Luiz because we had no belief he was a CB. Yes we went into the season with only 2 senior CB's because Benatia decided to go play for Bayern and Mangala(who is rubbish) went to City for a fortune. We also bought Luis to play LB so we could have the option of Brana at CB so we actually have 3 senior CB's. He was poor against Everton (nobody remembers that because we won 6-3) he was poor against City (very tough team in his defense). Its not always the chances that lead to goals that I look at, its the mistake made that could've been goals as well. Couple that with the fact that we rarely are in positions where we concede chances to go at our back 4 because we're always on the front foot or because our pressing has kept teams from getting out and you can see why the few opportunities Cahill has been exposed in have led to good chances. If you can tell me a game where he bossed it and was near man of the match then you may have a point. We don't do a lot of defending and when we give up the odd chance he's been highly susceptible to mistakes. He backs off players like they have the plague.
  8. But Fullbacks haven't been the problem it positioning and pace of our CB's.
  9. Cahill's been garbage I don't see what the argument for him could be. With Matic in front of him the exposure was minimized but overall Cahill has been a shockingly poor CB. He always looks like he's a deer caught in the headlights, Harry fucking Kane made him look like a school boy for fuck sakes... He's average at best and awful at worst. Zouma isn't ready yet but man I'd like to see him get a few more games... Jose can't be watching him and saying "yup! Gary is gonna be my rock in the back after JT retires..." No way in hell does Jose feel comfortable with Cahill, he's in the team because he's English and we don't have a lot of capped Englishmen in our squad.
  10. Its either one or the other. I don't see how you can go across a mans body without making contact. Nevertheless he was shocking all game, Atkinson.
  11. Atkinson can tongue the back of my balls... What a fucking tool. How is this not a foul on Hazard at 25secs???? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lp3bcGs-TWU#t=32 He then calls a foul on Cesc and books him. What a piece of work he is... Fuck you, you stupid cunt.
  12. WOW! We Definitely need Matic! Not because Mikel is shit but because he covers up for a shit Gary Cahill! What mare of a fucking game he had! Looked like a deer caught in the headlights all game long. The guy is the furthest thing from calm and collected in the back, Matic basically hides the deficiency we have at the back there. Cahill is just awful
  13. Newcastle away is one of the toughest fixtures on the calendar, you don't look at it and say 3pts. Hull, Burnley, Palace, QPR, Leicester, Villa you say 3pts.
  14. You're missing out the important details about where this originated from. You certainly are pessimistic. Anyway I'm not exactly confident we can get all 3 pts tomorrow but there is no correlation between Newcastle away and dropping points to smaller sides away, at least not to me!
  15. Who the fuck cares about the "tyne-Wear" derby? My point is they put in the same amount of effort against us as they do against City, which is supported be the fact they have taken points in 5 of the last 6 games at the stadium of Light. The fact that they failed to do so this time has more to do with fatigue than it does with them taking their foot off the gas. They don't play two a week often at all!
  16. Keep with the pessimism, you wear it well. We're undefeated and you still find reasons to gripe, that to me speaks VOLUMES! Late equalizers to City and Utd, a hard fought scoreless draw to Sunderland (The great failure a point away!!!) and you are complaining about the football. You keep going down this path and you'll end up complaining about the colour of the kit we wear when we lose... We haven't lost in all competitions this year! That is an incredible feat, not something to take lightly, no other team in Europe can make that claim! If you can't gain some level of confidence from that sort of form I feel bad for you brother, you will live in doom and gloom with the sky falling every matchday.
  17. You really think they had the energy to put in that sort of effort against City 3 days later? Come on... City haven't won there in 5 matches before this one.
  18. This belongs in the locked Lampard thread so I'm not going to continue on with this much more. I made my point and you guys aren't acknowledging and are starting to mince words. The fans still sing songs about Dennis Wise damn near every match! SO because Lamps is a bigger legend he now doesn't get the same adulation? that is so ridiculous I don't even know how to address that. I guess in time, perhaps not for you, we will see just how loved Frank is at the club. What he's done for Chelsea can never be tainted by sitting on City's bench at the age of 36. Had it been Liverpool, Arsenal, Utd or Tottenham the case might be stronger but even then I doubt he'd be vilified for playing elsewhere at 36. If I'm truly in the minority I will GLADLY accept that because what he's done for me and my club far outweighs anything negative he can do at City, and yes that includes scoring a late equalizer.
  19. your negativity is alarming. We played 3 games in 7 days and tied a team who's gameplan it was to park the bus at home... Frankly I don't give two shits how we win whether it be convincingly or not! 3pts is what we come for and so long as we leave with them I'm happy. Might I point out to you that we are undefeated. We've already beat plenty of small sides this year, but like many Chelsea "supporters" you guys suffer from short termism. Leicester, QPR, Palace, West Brom, Burnley, Villa are all small clubs who we beat. Drawing Sunderland away, this season, is the exception not the rule. Also, Newcastle are playing very good football lately, they aren't exactly a small club either! I want the points, if we park the bus and scrap a 1-0 win in extra time I'll be elated.
  20. Manchester City have failed to beat Sunderland on their last five Premier League visits to the Stadium of Light.
  21. How many times do Sunderland have to play twice in one week? Defending for 90mins take A LOT of energy, anyone who thought they'd be able to give the same display they gave us in the city match isn't paying attention. They had NO gas in the tank...
