Morata pointing at var when there is no var in this game...

100% agree they need to take chances. But here it doesnt matter how well they play today. They might have a cracker and Sarri will still go with underperforming Willian or Alonso for next 3 months. The trick is there must be some sort of reward. Sure they get game here and there and they have to be patient (it worked with RLC), but I feel they dont get enough trust and faith. Like the management team is very mechanic with the youngsters. Sometimes genuine faith in someone will give them more than ocassional game here and there. These kids need to believe they will be part of 11 one day and I dont think they do at chelsea. They aint stupid. Christensen has been tossed around ever since that barca fiasco and no one trusts him anymore.
-
Yeah Fab needs to be replaced. Not sure how Barella fits the role, but maybe it will work. If Cesc is off, we need someone new. As for CBs we have 4 even without Cahill, so that should be enough for now. But I dont believe either Christensen or Ampadu will be willing to play 3rd and 4th choice for much longer. The club should obviously replace these with youth players. As you said CHO for Moses, Ampadu for Cahill. Mount for Drinks. But the club will probably feel they need more experienced backups. I just hope we dont lose these kids and then pay giant fees on new backup players (like what happend with Chalobah leaving and then we forked 40m on Drinkwater. Disaster).
-
We will need some new players then for depth if they all leave (Moses, Cahill, Cesc, Drinks, maybe more?) And knowing Chelsea, they will overpay for every replacement. Resulting we wont be reinforcing our team with quality but quantity once more. At best we can hope for top striker eventualy, but top LB or CB wont happen.
-
We need someone now tbh.

Raiola just said Psv doesnt want to sell in january and he will leave in summer. Could be bs or...
-
Also I find it hilarious that Sarri keeps saying "we are short on options, Odoi injured etc" Pointing at Odoi injury in every interview. Just how convenient that Odoi got injured and suddenly we are out of depth. As if pre injury he was always playing or in plans, right? How many games he didnt even make the bench and wasnt injured?
-
This situation is everything that is wrong with the club. Not trusting youth, not giving chances, slow in handling the deals, always waiting for the last minute. I get City didnt play Sancho, but they had top players on wings. We have jack shit and Odoi still doesnt get a sniff. But IMO its not even about playing time. Its about trust. Odoi is our biggest talent and I havent seen one bit of club doing anything to show any faith in him. Buying players like Pulisic,...sure a good player, but what does it tell Odoi? Big middle finger. Odoi knows club will always prefer shit out of form Willian compared to him. And they will always buy foreign players that will get instant privilege ahead of Odoi. Odoi might get a game or two, but regardless how he plays, he will sit next game because his name isnt Willian. If he leaves, I totaly understand. Hopefuly he stays, but move to a club with trust in youth might give massive boost to his career. I dont blame Odoi, but the board. Fucking pathetic.

True. Having complete preseason and transfers done soon can make massive difference. Thats why some smaller teams that do business smart and soon end up ahead of those that spend shitload in the last minute. Same applies for best teams.
-
The club is beyond stupid if they go after those two for 50m. 50m man. We are in dire need for new striker, but thing is we should rather pay 100m on someone who is actualy top instead of forking 50m on those average ones and then splash 50m in summer again. Will the club realise that paying big on average players is the worst possible solution? Either pay huge and get actual quality or go for bargains, hope it works. If reports are true, Pool is looking after Werner who might cost only 40m, yet we will end up with someone crappier and pay more.

Funny we have the same thing in my country but the saying is about wolf, not goat

Icardi for me is the most overrated striker along with Lukaku. If he is the best out there, than the strikers are realy poor nowdays. He isnt bad or anything, but far from a complete or great striker. Serie a suits him perfectly because he isnt fast and pace of the league hides that flaw. He is also positionaly great and has top finish, probably best in football right now, but he isnt great anywhere else. For Pl he just isnt dynamic enough and if we paid 110m it could be another flop. Nothing like Morata though because it would be more case of not suiting the league rather being bad player. Werner is miles faster. His finishing isnt great, but still good. Dont start on consistency here please, because Suarez or Cavani arent consistent finishers either, but they get into so many chances, they still end up with lot of goals. Icardi is better finisher than all, but hardly better striker. In what sense superb with the ball? As in running in space and positioning? Indeed. But when we talk about link up and hold up, creating chances, he isnt all that much. If Icardi doesnt score, he has often quiet game. Suarez or Aguero are miles ahead in overall game. I dont watch every inter game, but quite many of them because of Handanovic and while Icardi did improve, he doesnt give the impression of complete striker.
-
Loads of options indeed, but with Cesc leaving we wont have Jorginho backup and overall neither of our midfielders can shoot or be very creative which could be a problem in the future.
-
Werner over Icardi any day. Not that either is ideal, but Werner's pace and finishing ability along with lot of potential suits us much more than Icardi who is quite slow and more of a poacher. Jovic though would be probably most realistic. He looks like young Suarez and isnt super expensive.
-
The worrying thing is that if there will be another Aguero, we wont be anywhere near. Too expensive, too much competition etc. 1st tier established players and talents are out of our hand.
-
Absolutely. Marina is just making us into franchise. Pulisic getting them millions of fans in usa and us having record revenues every season is her dream. United has a cuckoo in Woodward too, they havent been doing well either. Liverpool and city brought some brain from germany and spain which did wonders to them.

I replied to you in another thread on this. But yeah completely agree it will not be a quick process. However we did play much better two months ago, the way we should be playing. Dont even mind we won 12 straight or so. Point is our football was actualy very enjoyable to watch. Now its pure boredom even if we manage to win 1:0 or 2:1. What happend? We didnt have injuries. It couldnt be fatigue because it started in october. Hazard was absolutely on fire prior and he isnt that great since october. Jorginho was also much more influental first months compared to now.
-
Yup, I said before Im willing to stick with Sarri but so far its just not working. Jorginho would be victim of circumstances if he was dropped, but the real culprits would be board and Sarri. Either we should continue Conte football and bring 1,2 players or get Sarri that would require 6 new players. Now we play Sarriball, but without proper players. We need to get players that fit this style or drop Jorginho, Sarriball and do the best we can with current lot. With Sarri or without. That said Sarriball would always take at least two seasons to make some noise. But the current state is beyond worrying. I expected we will have problems with results, but play wise I thought our attack will be way more fluid and our defense full of holes. Similar to Klopp in Pool. That way you can work things out eventually. With us however, there are so many problems that its hard to see benefits of Sarriball at all. Bottom line, even when Klopp had shit defense and kept losing, their team was showing promise when they pushed forward. Entertaining football. What do we have? Possession on possession with zero creativity and end product. Its like the worst possible football style. Even gold Mourinho or Conte ball was more interesting because oppont obliterated us, but we survived and won. And the worst part is that we actualy played well in august and september. With the very same players. So its not just down to bringing new lb or striker. Why? IMO Jorginho isnt as influental, Hazard is not as good and Sarri doesnt rotate one bit.
-
Tbh regarding tonight, even a good striker isnt a solution IMO. We were jerking the ball for 90min and created almost nothing. We are slow and uncreative. Static and have no dynamic. Yeah it might be 1:0 with better striker but honestly who would want to watch this boring football week in week out? Sarri was brought to make us more attractive. For months, even when we do win, we play realy bad for most games.
-
Change of tactics or formation etc. If we dont have the players, we have to adapt. Azpi, Kante, Alonso etc all look much worse compared to last season. All due to this new Sarriball that isnt even working. I would gladly drop Alonso, but right now it wont happen. Conte had limited squad and he made changes that won us the title. Its absolutely pointless to accomodate whole team just so that one player (Jorginho) plays his role, even if he is doing well. Im not saying we should just instantly drop him or whatever, but longterm if this isnt working whats the point? At the end I dont care if we play possession football or more defensive. As long there is visible progress and it suits the players we have. Right now sarriball looks extremely forced. Kante out of his place, Azpi and Alonso who are nowhere near good in attack for Sarriball. Hazard in false 9 role etc. If the board saw it right to spend 60m on Jorginho, they better be prepared to support Sarri with new LB and striker that fits this system. Otherwise it makes no sense.
-
Didnt say he is or isnt worthy. Just pointed out he wont be anywhere near 30 goals in this season. And goals are not always everything. Morata was decent scorer in season prior to joining us. You just cant predict that because player x scores y goals, he will score y goals in different team in different league. Even less if you predict that after half a season. There could be injuries, drop of form etc.
-
Yes but it makes no point in playing Jorginho if rest of the team cant do shit in Sarriball. Either bring new players/make some rotations or drop Jorginho/ play Kante next to him.
-
Where did you find those numbers? Sarabia is on 6 goals and 6 assists in laliga so far. Wont get near 30.
