Absolutely, first midfielder and striker. But if you look that we will probably go to 4:3:3, and with Kdb comming, we might not need midfielder. Dm would be waste of money, unless the board is not patient enough. Mikel is important player and will not be just replaced with someone like Capoue, besides we have Romeu and Chalobah both top young DMs. Striker might be required, but there is Lukaku to hop in. As cb goes, we just dont have anyone young to get there. Iva and Terry are still in team, but not the youngest. Luiz is hot cold and needs classy CB along him, someone who wont do monkey bussiness. Kalas is great on rb, so he probably wont be CB. While Zuma is indeed another top french prospect.

Me too as defender, but Papadopoulos is injured a lot, besides he likes to go forward. You wont see that with Howedes. With someone like Luiz who goes forward all time, we need strong, tall, concentrated on defending CB. Also, Papadopoulos is 1.83 which is very small for PL to deal with the likes of Rvp, Dzeko at set pieces. Riccy was short for CB too, but he had other qualities, similar to Luiz (just Luiz needs to mature in defending a bit). All in all, Papadopoulos would be great pick too (he seems to be like Thiago Silva bit), but right now if Luiz is to be one CB, the other one has to be Terry esque - stay in defence, lead defence, work hard, be effective (mistake free) and be a corner threat.
-
Howedes in proper club could easily become ''world class''. He's been linked with United, City, Barca, Bayern Anyway how many world class CBs are actualy out there? The times of Vidic, Puyol, Terry, Carvalho,...are long gone. Varane seems to be most promising as complete CB. Kompany or Silva for now arent near Terry, Puyol at their prime. Howedes could easily catch Silva though, as far I know Silva was 26 when he realy become class CB. Silva moved to Milan from brazil in 2009, at age 24 and for 8mio. And he wasnt ''world class'. Howedes isnt world class yet, but in a year at top club, he certainly can be.

Personaly, I think Chalobah should replace Mikel once in DM position, not CB.
-
Surprised there is no topic of him yet.. Anyway if we are interested in new CB, it should be this guy. German international, versatile, can play cb, rb or lb. True leader on pitch, this man has plenty of experience in CL, he was one of most important players in Schalke team that made it to semis two year ago. Complete oposite of Luiz, Howedes is concentrated, hard worker in defence whose stats are comparable to the likes of Silva, Hummels. Captain of Schalke is great with organising defence, doesnt rush forward. With 1,87m he is also tall and strong enough to deal with stronger opponents. He is 25, coming to peak of his career and has plenty of years to show. I can easily see him as potential sucessor of Terry. However there are two problems; 1.) he is die hard Schalke player, german and likes idea of staying there 2.) he just extended contract to 2017 Anyway he would be still cheaper than Hummels or other hyped CBs, but what this man has is that he is very mistake free, opposite of Hummels, Luiz,... Stats (CL only) Pass Suc% Avg.passes Dissposesed Tackles Interceptions Fouls Clearances Was dribbled Howedes 82.7 47.6 0.1 2.4 3.4 1.3 3 0.5 Hummels 81 38.4 - 3.1 2.4 0.6 10.9 0.9 Thiago Silva 86.7 38.7 - 1.9 3.7 0.9 5.9 0.1 David Luiz 87 53.7 0.5 1.7 2.2 2.2 3.3 0.5 Okore is another one to mention, but experience/young age vise (something we need in defence, Howedes is very experienced player, I would say near perfect CB for the price of 18-22mio.

Best LB ever along Roberto Carlos I realy hope either Bertrand or Shaw eventualy replaces him...
-
He needs to cross more accurately and then improve overall game and he will be great allround RB. We realy did great job when picking him ahead Maicon, Debuchy and VDW.
-
What I like about him is his team play, even if he could take shot, but he passes because there is other player in better position. Unlike Ronaldo who takes every shot... To compare him with ballon dor is too soon, but boy has potential. But I feel that he will be bit more selfish eventualy, once his hype and fame touches him, when his confidence upgrades. He will be unstopable then.

Mata, Hazard, Kdb and Oscar #UnitedCityArsenalSpursAreJelous
-
Cant agree more that Cavani would suit us more, but Lewandowski is still much cheaper and also quite hard worker (if you compare him to Falcao,...), he makes assists, dribbles and contributes to team a lot. Basicaly, similar to Rvp, but obviously not that good. Cavani is class act as he is hard worker and strong, skillful and all, but also extremely expensive and still huge risk for those 50mio we would splash on him.
-
So you say that Zidane pointed out at Hazard and Varane and both are looking to be world beaters?! Man the next player that Zidane mentions, we should defo sign!!
-
I would rather sign Lewandowski since his contract expires in 2014. Would cost half the price of Cavani and is fantastic striker.
-
If we go 4:3:3 next season with Rambo-Mikel-Kdb/Oscar/new cm Mata-Striker-Hazard Ramires could easily be regular. But Kdb/Oscar would need to play as CM and do it very good to improve our game in midfield. With Chalobah and Romeu comming, I dont see the need for new midfielder if kdb can handle it. Mikel would be protecting line, Rambo as b2b and Kdb as midfield maestro to deliver balls in attack.
-
I think that we need younger, but experienced manager with specific balanced play/tactics. Attacking play, but must also be good tactic to fix defence and motivator. He must not be afraid to try things, to make decisions. As goes for youth, he must know how to deal with them, so that Mata, Hazard, Azpi, Oscar, Ake, Lukaku,...will properly evolve. After all, its not just the new coach that we need, but also part of board to be changed. Certainly coaching assistants and staff must be choosen by the coach; some new faces, but wouldnt be bad if some older would return like Wilkins,...if Roman and co wont fuck up, we will sure have very interesting season!
-
Well done mate Hope he extends for another year
-
Well Bayern used the same as last year, so yeah why not just keep this one for next season...but its never going to happen because new kit means more sales then older one (unless it is a very ugly kit, but still).
-
Brilliant control, fast actions, lots of chances, solid defending but bad finishing. Everyone was superb, only Ba and his finishing...
-
A must win to keep us ahead Arsenal and along spurs. We could also close gap with city to 4 points...
-
Every team produces some youth players who eventualy becomes star, but not at the same time. You do realise that there would be massive pressure on Lukaku and other youngsters (Chalobah, Ake,...) if they would have to carry this team while in time of development? Check next year team according to your plan: only Cech, Terry, Cole, Mikel and Luiz are experienced players. Maybe Mata too, but he is still bit inconsistent. That is only half of team. Now Oscar, Kdb, Lukaku, Hazard and Azpi would need to take massive pressure too. Tell me about a team that produced/bought so many young players and established them as stars in one year? You cant have half team so young, other way we face arsenal destiny. You have 9/10 regular experienced starters and 2 young players who get regular chances and become big players eventualy. Not that I wouldnt support such plan to get as many young players in team, but it is a bit impossible. Even teams like Barca are looking elsewhere to keep them competitive. Along all their talents. And they have much better youth coaching then us... But us I said, lets see what will happen next season. If you will be right and the youth plan will suceed, I will be happy, if they wont, I will support them, make sure you will to even if we will play like shit.
-
Oh well then just stay with Lukaku, Ba and Torres and see how good/bad season will go...we can always buy over the price in winter if necessary. I might be wrong, Lukaku could be big star next year and we would save lot of money, we shall see...I think that who will be our coach next year to be most important.
-
Im not that sure it is fake. Design itself is mix of 09/10 shirt and that blue/gold-yellow umbro shirt. It would probably look better on players I guess as always does...
-
As I said, give Lukaku a chance, but buy experienced striker in case if Romelu wont suceed. And Im sure we will have around 80mio to spend in summer
-
What the f? I give Lukaku all support, as I said we could play with him next season, but it will PROBABLY end with similar results as this season. Sure then people (probably you too) will be mad because we play bad and we didnt sign striker and because Lukaku could dissapoint and fans would want him leave... But if you want to be equal to top teams, you must buy top striker. Real has Higuain, Benzema and Morata (+Cr) and they want one more. Same with United, City, Bayern,...I believe Lukaku will be our main striker in few years, but allmost certainly not next year. He is too young and what will we do if he underperforms? Buy striker in winter? Im not saying we need ten strikers, but 1 that will do the job every game. A more experienced/older one to leave place when Lukaku is truly ready. I dont even say we need Cavani or Falcao, could be Lewandowski, Jovetic, Martunez, Villa, or other cheaper proven strikers that can lead out attack if lukaku struggles. And about that I want us to buy every single player you must be biased to think so. I never jump on bandwagon like many people here when someone like Isco, Falcao, Rooney scores screamer then we should sign him. If I mention 10 players, sure I would love see them here, I mean you wouldnt? But i would never actualy say that we should buy them. If we need Cb, DM, CM and striker we need them, not because I said so, but because Lamps, terry will retire eventualy, torres is shit, Marin could leave, Luiz is unconsistent (but I never said him or Mikel who are very hated here among people to leave), and team like Chelsea needs top players. If you think that all our youth players will now become big players after knowing history with our youth players is ridiculous. Yes I want them to suceed here, but come on, we dont even have proper board and coach to make them stars. Neither Roman has patience with them. If saying that we need striker and midfielder/defender are players from whole world, then fuck you too. Dont say something that is not true.

When Sahin is on top, he is world beater. He was great today two goals and assist. He is the perfect CM who has it all, but unfortunely he only plays well in Dortmund.
-
Man, Quintero is brilliant prospect, but he is another small CAM ala Mata, Oscar,...might have some better passing eventualy, but he offers nothing in CM or DM position.
