What can he offer that Lukaku cant? Both are same type of strikers but atm Benteke is little better but he is also older. Since Cavani is too expensive, we should sign Benteke instead? Where does that make sense? Cavani is world class, match winner, direct starter. Benteke is raw, young unexperienced striker. What is same between Cavani-Benteke? It is same thing we did last year with Oscar. Since Modric was too expensive, we bough Oscar instead. Modric is experienced CM and we bough young CAM. Now, we cant properly use Oscar due to Mata already plays as CAM. Still, thankfuly Oscar is versatile enough, but draws problem between Mata-Oscar. On other hand Benteke would be wasteful signing because he aint good enough to lead the attack (if we want to go with young striker, why not Lukaku then?). And Lukaku, Benteke will never play together, so what is the point of this 25mio transfer?

I think he is very much like Rooney/Ibra/Rvp/Aguero/Tevez/Suarez type of striker who can also create not just score goals...he can play in CAM/SS but he is still top finisher and why couldnt he play in front? HoWever we dont realy need him, he is young and w already have Lukaku. Should sign Rooney/Ibra if they are available.

My point was why buy other players when we could use our own? Barca had Thiago but instead bought Cesc. Spent lot of money and now it seems they will lose one of the best if not the best la massia product of last few years. Just an odd example, but back then Thiago didnt seem to be good enough, now he is. Perhaps Rlc and Chalobah arent good enough now, but will be in two years. Lets say we buy Kondogbia and we play Ginkel as main CM for next 10 years. Where will Chalobah and Rlc play? You know you CAN develop own players in club not sending them on loans. Think of 19 years old Ronaldo at ManU. Was he too young? Should he be sent on loan, who knows what would happen to him. As far as I know we dont have good DM. Why not give chance to Chalobah who would exchange with Romeu, Mikel? What if he becomes world class DM but it would sacrifice one season for Chelsea sucess? Would you take it or send him on loan for few years and buy some top DM/Kondogbia instead? Same goes for the rest of our players.
