I disagree. He hasn't looked like a 50m starting role signing so far and lot of people rightly pointing out that saving the 50m spent on him would ease the problems in signing Simons

Frustrating though that couple of smarter decisions this summer would have bridged the gap to Arsenal. We are short of the quality Arsenal/Liverpool have in their first XI. Winning one knockout tournament doesn't change that and the aim around Chelsea has to be winning the league.

It is a step forward - at least a player in his prime and could walk into a starting role - unlike Gittens/Garnacho.

Don't think we have bridged the gap to Arsenal. They are closer to forming a league-winning team than we are. Signing players like Zubimendi, Eze shows they are a serious tactical project and Arteta is obsessed with building a team that has solutions to break down low-blocks. As much as Maresca has found a way to play now, we don't have the same obsession as Arsenal if we are competing for Gittens/Garnacho in the same area of the pitch where Arsenal have signed Eze.
