you are defending Torres? YOLO. We are wayyy past that torres was his usual shite self yesterday. ruined all attacks. lacks composure and control to keep the attack going and lacks decisiveness to finish and........ why bother? this has been done and dissected - #TorresOut
-
regardless of the fact it was mancity, the attack was absolutely toothless. the ball goes to torres and the Most he can do is win a free kick. he can't pick out a pass, he can't get past a man....
-
Luiz was excellent but even in yesterday's game he had "brain-dead" moments. the shirt pull on kompany(?) was a risky move. regardless of that, he read most city attacks perfectly and i think luiz-cahill must never be used again. luiz-ivan, cahill-ivan, terry-ivan, terry-luiz, terry-cahill - all good the one problem with the defence is that it relies a lot on the whole team dropping back. no genuine ball winners in the team
-
don't see how the clean sheet is a plus-point when we sacrificed the attack to do it. tbf, we were solid in the games against swansea and liverpool as well. unlucky to concede then but luckily didn't concede yesterday. rafa's objective should be to sort out the attack and get us dominating games again

couldn't really care less about PR. the clattenburg issue has done the damage anyway the issue is that yet again, we are going into a crucial crucial part of the season in turmoil with a bit of an unbalanced squad. but thankfully, our players have experience in these situations

fair enough. he loves the club but my point is, the decision to sack robbie is obviously going to infuriate the fans. no point defending roman when he has clearly made another mess at the club. if he was going to be ruthless hire, benitez in the summer itself. once he appointed di matteo, he should have given rdm time. you say "it was always going to happen" but it doesn't change the fact that he has made another mess at the club. taking nothing away from roman and what he has done to the club, at a time like this, criticism against him is justified.if he really listened to the fans, he wouldn't have appointed benitez. remember birmingham away last season - "Fuck off, we don't want you here"
-
. it's clear that roman cares only about objectives. while it's good in one way that we are competing for the titles and none of the "top 4 is enough" Nonsense but the line has to be drawn somewhere. on the managerial scene, di matteo and probably carlo ancelotti were hasty decisions. clearly should have hired benitez from the start of the season if he wasn't going to trust di matteo enough to give him time till christmas at the least
-
since when does Roman care about the fans now? Also, Robbie was as good as sacked before the juventus game. rdm went for a crazy formation against juve to get a point and save his job. should have trusted rdm with more time or gone for benitez in the summer itself
-
any criticism against roman is quite understandable now. Another hasty sacking. i'm not saying di Matteo was the best man for the job but once he made the decision to go with di Matteo in the summer, he should have given Robbie time. Pointless giving the job to Robbie if he was always going to sack him at the slightest twitch. yes, he has done lots for us and brought us up as a club but at a time like this, criticism is justified
-
Anyone going to the game, applaud in the 16th minute for Roberto
-
16th minute cheer for di Matteo tomorrow?

hasn't been great according to albion fans. a couple of them have told that while he has the power and pace he is overly reliant on his left foot.

i'll put it in a different way. all this hate on roman is not because he's sacked di matteo. it's because he hasn't given di matteo enough time. if he was always looking to sack him, why bother appointing him in the first place?
-
but seriously it's a bit daft that people expect Torres to fire just because Benitez arrived. I mean, it coulndn't be more obvious that he's turned Shyte
-
an upgrade on our defence. he has been good over the last few years. but i think we can look around for better options
-
i believe it'll be tweaked a bit. i wonder whether torres will get on the shoulders of the defenders and run onto throughballs or go back to his recent role of dropping into the space between the opposition defence-mid and have a run at the defenders. i think he'll score more goals by making runs behind the defence but he will be frustrated for long times without the ball and that will pull him back to linking up with the mids
-
I agree that Rafael Benitez is tactically better and that Robbie was going to go anyway. The point is - Why bother giving Robbie the job in the summer if they will pull the trigger at the slightest twich?
-
- We lose to West Brom 2-1. - Juventus take us for a dump in Turin - di Matteo is fired - Fat Spanish Waiter takes charge - Clattenburg wins racism case - Chelsea the villains again - Lampard and Cole all but confirmed to be leaving Can't agree more. Worst week in our History But, things can't get worse on Sunday can it? Chelsea to beat ManC. It's football. Shit happens

the transfer policy is completely out of the manager's hands. even under mourinho, i always felt that shevchencko was more of a Roman-signing than Jose's. Except Scolari, who made a few of his Own signings - Deco, Bosingwa, all the other managers were puppet-stringed in the transfer market. Remember AVB - "de Bruyne was more of a club signing" Benitez will be no different. As he said, he will focus on Coaching the team. Emenalo, Gourlay and co. will be looking after transfers. i believe that's where we've got it all wrong. the manager should look at his team and think what's needed and what's not. not the executives.the manager will be the one with inside knowledge of the team and he should be given total control of transfers. well not under Rafa but from the summer onwards

the one good thing out of this train-wreck of a week is that Benitez will bring something new to the table. Fresh ideas, new formation etc will put a spring in the players' step. The New-Manager Honeymoon period should work in favour of us. Plus, our players are used to this. They have been there and gone through the motions of a managerial change that they should adapt to Benitez easily. Weirdly confident about this one
-
City don't seem confident. I think it'll be one of those weird nights when everybody expects a City win but we sneak a goal in and defend it. As much as I loathe the Fat Waiter, i hope the best for the club
-
still not convinced that this move was necessary now. the overall objective of the season was to get back in the top 4 right? why then, go out and sack di matteo barely 3 months into the season and replace him with Rafa Benitez who averaged 13 signings a season and drove Liverpool to the ground. If it was Pep coming in, it makes some sense atleast but he's still whiling his days away at New York. We'll see how this plays out but I have to say, it would take One hell of a 6 months to make me accept Rafa
