  1. pity guzan though. and also, the midfield overpowered villa. won the ball back whenever villa tried to string 2 passes together important that we don't get carried away now. top 4 is the objective and rafa should take it game by game and see if we can challenge for the title. manchester clubs are shit so we might have an outside chance
  2. wouldn't say "Ruthless". missed a couple of sitters. Moses especially. through on goal with all the time in the world. although in hindsight, i am glad he missed because then the ball fell to Lampard
  3. Jurgen Klopp. will he leave Borussia? he's building his own dynasty there anyway, it's irrelevant. Jurgen Klopp won't get total control of the first team affairs. he will be puppet-stringed by gourlay and emenalo. would love to see a manager in charge of transfers - pep or jose. Joachim Loew is simply a bigger name than Klopp. Similar to Klopp in many ways but Loew commands more respect and has built up a goodish reputation. he'll have more of an impact here. hence he is 3rd
  4. The Managerial Shortlist should look something like this imo 1. The Special One 2. Pep 3. Joachim Loew 4. Rafael Benitez 1. Jose - Under fire in Madrid and wants to return to England. Loves Chelsea and would like to build a 2nd team here. World Class Manager. Adored by the fans. Respected by the players. Proven in the Premier League and I think he'll be determined to win the Champions League at Chelsea 2. Pep - Pep's lack of Premiership experience puts him 2nd for me but still, he's a world class manager. took over an out-of-sorts Barcelona team and the first thing he did was sell Ronaldinho and Deco. Built his own team and stamped his authority at Barca with 3 league titles and 2 CL wins. 3. Loew - He's been a national team manager but a very active one at that. Can build a team of fast skilful players playing to a quick counter-attacking strategy. 4. Rafa - Last resort - Rafa. Good experience and proven especially in the CL. a little negative(defensive) in his approach maybe but that is useful in CL games where we have to keep things tight. Sadly not a World Class manager
  5. i have my hopes up that pep wants a change of scenery and mourinho wants to come back to England
  6. still not entirely convinced that rafa should be an option to consider beyond this season.
  7. Would love to see Marin start. he's daisy fresh. also, is Sturridge available for this one?
  8. Anyone else glad that Moses missed? LAMPAAAAAAAAAARDDD
  9. remember Norwich? when the comeback never happened? i think Swansea will go on and win this
  10. true, but with giving rafa a contract, this negative atmosphere in the club will continue. this is supposed to be just a phase before things are cleared up in the summer. or so i am hoping
  11. Not Rafa. He has come in and done nothing radically different with our squad. it's like he's being strung along by emenalo and gourlay. plus, the fans love to hate him and that is never good. i just wish rafa gets us through unscathed this season and then have someone else come in
  12. Good deal for Liverpool if Sturridge can reproduce his Bolton and AVB form. he has the quality. it's just the application that matters
  13. i'd gladly have Mourinho take over our mess. Over Guardiola. Premiership experience trumps it for me. on a side note, if we miss out on both Mourinho and Guardiola? what then? we are well and truly screwed
  14. Yesterday there was talk about how Rafa was trying to free funds for January. if that is the case, i think we'll be signing cheaper options in midfield attack and a replacement for sturridge
  15. Ah. i am not sayin we should sign Jelavic. just bemoaning the fact that we have Torres.
  16. that was the point inspite of not scoring goals, he has the basic instinct to attack the ball. the winner against tottenham when he just ran past a static back four on the off-chance the ball came through. the ball did come through and he stabbed it home. torres goals are more like - stroll into the box and tap-in. the newcastle goal aside, he hasn't scored from a half-chance i think....
  17. if someone could re-upload the hasselbaink days, it would be much appreciated
  18. haha. no way we'd go for Jelavic. his instincts and poaching abilities are class but it's sadly not a big enough 'name' for Gourlay and Emenalo. on the other hand, they'd spend ridiculous amounts of money if shit players like Mario Gomez was available for a transfer
  19. ah.... finally. gonna watch a chelsea game(completely) for the first time since west ham away at the start of the month. worried about this though. dodgy form all month. sunderland win aside, there isn't a noteworthy performance to speak of. also Lampard- Ramires in the pivot against possibly 3 men in the Villa midfied. On the plus side, Hazard and Mata will have space to navigate tomorrow. Hope Fernando continues his mini-resurgence
  20. yeah but we might be able to support his wages for 6 months. good option if we get him on a 6 month loan in January. fresh option in attack. no money spent. good enough for top 4 finish. david villa maybe a tad old but he's still got his shooting boots on. could finish the chances created by our playmakers
